We haven't eaten in Goliad in a number of years and tried to remember the last place we ate at. This wasn't it, but we still made a great selection. From start to finish, the staff, food, and service were incredible. The only drawback was the chicken fried steak had brown gravy on it instead of cream gravy. The server stated that is what I requested. Who knows?! Maybe I did! The food was still delicious nonetheless! This was a beautiful restaurant. Don't let the exterior of the building fool you. Beautiful decor and ambiance! Everything was seemless. Please eat here. You won't regret it!

Food was good, server just doing her job. Atmosphere, place fell like home. Great prices for good food.

Grilled chicken, smothered in mushrooms and onions with fried okra and buttered corn!

Cute local hometown cafe. Everything made from scratch served hot and fresh! The dessert looked delicious but no room after our meals, but the offer to go.

Took a day trip with the wife on Valentine's Day to Goliad Tx! Wonderful town with Missions and old Forts to visit. Found this little restaurant on the town square and gave it a try. Food was excellent and in just the right portions. I had the daily special, which was lasagna and my wife had grilled chicken. Very tasty and no complaints. The waitress was nice and took care of us well. I noticed that the owner was helping out where she was needed and even had her young daughter manning the cash register and credit card machine. The place was very clean and had an air of old town charm. We will definitely go back on our next visit that direction.

This is a very homey restaurant. The walls are adorned with pictures of families enjoying meals together. The tables have vintage looking salt and pepper shakers, different sets on each table. This old building has the feel of home. I had the pecan crusted chicken w/ linguine, however today it was spaghetti. The chicken was crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. It came topped with some butter and a drizzle of honey. The spaghetti didn't have any sauce on it so I just used the butter and it was fine. The server was friendly and did a great job. The prices are reasonable and provide a great lunch value. I will visit again.

Clean, attentive staff. Food was served quickly and it was very good. A home away from home feel to the place.

I ordered the chocolate covered strawberry cold brew and it hit the spot. Not too strong and every flavor hit perfectly. Be sure to stop by. They offer teas, sodas, and ice cream as well. We found this perfect little coffee spot, in Poth, Texas, on the way to Houston. It was so charming and unexpected that we had to pause for a coffee moment. Southern Coffee House had an extensive coffee menu, a drive through, and enchanting inside and outside seating. It is hard to believe that this itty-bitty place is in the middle of a small town and not one of the bigger Texas cities. I ordered one of their deliciously flavored coffees from the drive-through, but I had to stop and check out the place. I was completely won over. I have to say that in addition to the excellent coffee and amazing décor, it had the most charming and likeable employees. These two young ladies went out of their way to give us more information about Southern Coffee and a tour of place. They were so sweet, friendly, and helpful, I would go again based on service alone. I really think that this is an ideal stop and will make it a point to visit again whenever I'm in the area.

It's a cute place, small with a few tables outside and a bit of room inside but there were 3 people inside who seemed to be friends with the teen working taking up the room and making the space tight and kind of uncomfortable. Shana got an espresso with a fun flavor syrup which the worker picked caramel. Employee was helpful and knowledgeable. They are small but have a full coffee bar and ability to make pretty much everything a Starbucks would have. She was super nice and though Shana asked an unusual question about local cemeteries she took it in stride even with the guys watching. Bonus points. A downside is the hours. Like many places it showed that according to its signs and hours posted it was closed but we tried the door due to other experiences and found it open. You couldn't really see inside so we took a chance. Others may not or see the sign and keep walking or leave. A bit frustrating. Shana started out just asking general coffee questions then went more specific and the employee keep up and even politely and low key upsold without being pushy. Well done. But the pluses outweigh the negative and if you're in the area hit them up. Don't forget to tip!

I was disappointed in the Ruben sandwich. Mind you, it was served warm as most are, but after eating Reubens from delis with lots of meat, from the photos you can see that my Reuben from here had a skimpy serving of meat. Additionally, I thought that the menu had it at one price and the register rung it up as $1.00 higher. I found that it is a dollar more for a salad. It comes standard with chips. That's reasonable to me and I thought that the salad was good. My spouse had the burger, and she enjoyed it. She liked that it came with a choice of fries or a healthy salad. I was pleased that a Zero Coke was only $2.00. That's extremely reasonable!

Looking forward to trying Tillie's again next time we pass thru. The cafe is well maintained and the food was decent. We also loved the ambiance - very relaxing. The service was very bad. The servers acted as though serving us was a massive inconvenience from the moment we walked in. Our questions were met with eye rolls and borderline rude answers that made us feel unwelcome.
