I am in love with this hotel!
We traveled to three cities over the course of fifteen days, and as such, stayed in three different hotels. The La Ballerina was by far our favorite hotel of the three.
To start, the hotel is beautiful. It's boutiquey without being cloyingly sweet. The decor is soft and vibrant, and just oozes charm. There's a red carpet runner on the first few sets of stairs, which just adds to the incredible feel of the place as a whole.
We had several large bags, and once our taxi pulled up to the hotel, we had a very nice gentleman waiting to help us carry everything inside. The front desk clerk was warm and welcoming, and willingly provided us with some ideas of places to visit and things to see while we were in Praha.
After getting to our room, I spent pretty much four minutes walking around saying things like, "I love this room! I love this shower! I love this light!" before my husband made me stop.
Our room was at the end of a hallway, so we weren't hemmed in by other rooms. The thing I loved the most was that it felt like a home, not like a hotel room. Everything was segmented, so there was one hallway that had rooms shooting off of it. The bathroom (shower and sink) were off your first left, then down the hall was the water closet with another small sink, and at the end of the hall was the sleeping area.
The bedroom had a desk and a nice wardrobe, as well as a window that I couldn't get enough of. We had a view of an interior courtyard - not the best view, but I didn't care. Having the window open let in a very nice breeze. And if it got to be too loud out there, closing the windows blocked out the noise.
The shower was amazing - it had a waterfall shower head, and I could have spent hours in there. And the towel warming racks actually worked! (Most hotels we visit that have one installed have a note letting the traveler know that it's not actually plugged in. And these rooms had TWO!)
The hairdryer, in case you're looking for it, is stored in the wardrobe, on the other side of the bathrobes. I thought I'd have to call the front desk, because I didn't find it on my first pass, so that's a hint for those who might need it. The room also had a mini fridge and a safe, of course. The only thing it didn't have, which would have come in handy, was an iron and ironing board.
We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would absolutely stay with them in the future. The service was top-notch and the accommodations were serene. The location was good, too - it took us maybe 8-10 minutes to walk to the Charles Bridge, depending on how crowded the sidewalks were at the time. read more
