I went to this venue for a wedding reception. I live in Waterbury but I had never heard of it. It was easy to get to and parking was great. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. Inside was gorgeous as well. The set up was stunning and I loved the lounge while we waited to enter the main room. I'm not sure if they provided the decor but it was top tier. The food was delicious(even though I didn't take a lot of photos). The drinks were amazing. I wish I got the name of the bartender in the hall area, she was so spot on with every drink I ordered. The customer service was top tier. The servers were very kind and attentive to all our needs. The stressed to know about allergies and preferences, which was impressive. I've gone to conferences where allergies were treated carelessly and people got sick. So I really appreciated them constantly checking in. The tables were cleared immediately after you were done. The servers were very accommodating when asked for additional things as well. Looks of gorgeous areas to take photos. The area we were in was wheelchair and disabled accessible which was great. This is my second year attending La Bella Vista's Easter Brunch and I can say honestly this is the best bang for your buck. There are many serving stations ranging from delicious prime rib (you can ask for medium rare which I appreciate!), waffle bar, Venetian table, antipasto and more! I do have to comment on how I was disheartened to see their penne alla vodka was replaced with rigatoni bolognese... seriously what a downgrade from last year. I overheard many customers ask the staff where the penne alla vodka was and I kept hearing the staff say "we don't have it this year." Hopefully they got the hint that they should bring this item back! I also enjoy the fact that there is an unlimited mimosa station. Many restaurants that serve a brunch buffet do not have this luxury and usually have to wait a long time to even get a drink. I definitely like the idea of having pitchers of mimosas for guests to get at their leisure. The dessert Venetian table is pretty nice. Overall, dessert is ok. I was disappointed with their cannolis and cookies. However I do love their macarons and chocolate fountain. Who doesn't love a chocolate fountain?! Staff is mixed- either extremely unpleasant or very nice and accommodating-but I can definitely understand...working on a holiday sucks. As a part of a bridal party, I was both impressed and not impressed. Upon arrival for the reception we were greeted by the lady in charge, she served us one round of drinks and then she disappeared. We were all unsure if we were needed furthermore so we adventures downstairs where the passed appetizers as well as other hot appetizers were much better. We were all very impressed with the food and the servers when it came to dinner. Everything came out promptly, hot, and correct (and delicious!) and that Venetian table was incredible, but not well hidden although it was cool to check out by ourselves beforehand. Dancing was fun and there was plenty of space for everyone to dine, chat or dance.. or drink. The DJ was a bit iffy, but only those who knew about small details would notice. I can't say enough about how wonderful the staff and food were at my wedding on July 24, 2021! I just wanted to thank Andy, and the staff again for everything! I am still getting calls and texts about the wedding and how amazing everything was, mostly complements on the food! I can not stress enough how wonderful Trisha was and how great she is at her job! The food was top notch and the staff was so professional and accommodating to everyone's needs. We paid so much money for an event here and the food was the worst - even considering it's a banquet facility. They smothered a very poor cut of prime rib in an au jus sauce in attempt to cover up the bad beef, but the sauce was even worse!! Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

Recently came here for a wedding- June 16, 2017. Trish was absolutely phenomenal! I'm a nursing mother so I needed an area to pump and Trish easily accommodated me even though I was just a guest. Cocktail hour was phenomenal, even though I usually am not a fan of wedding food in general because the mass cooking makes the food taste worst. Let's talk about dinner really quick. They came around asking how we would like our steak cooked. I asked for mine medium rare because I don't like over done steak and medium is not bloody enough for me. Another guest at our table asked for it rare and another asked for it medium. When dinner was served the woman placed my steak in front of me saying it was medium. When I informed her that I ordered it medium rare she said they only cook them medium. So why on earth do you ask me my preference to begin with? However, the guest that asked for it rare received it rare. I'm very disappointed even though the fillet mignon was out of this world. The drinks were inconsistent. I didn't catch the name of the bartenders unfortunately because my husband is typically the one to go up but one girl did not know how to properly pour. read more

I came here for a stag. This place was extravagant. There was beautiful décor while the staff was extremely pleasant. I had numerous items here and all are listed below. It was all buffet style. I am sure that was how it was organized to be. Italian Salad - This consisted of romaine lettuce, olives, peppers, tomatoes, onions with a lemon red wine vinaigrette. All the ingredients were fresh and the vinaigrette was a great touch. Prosciutto Station - There was a prosciutto station with hot and sweet peppers, provolone, and Portuguese rolls. This was tough to beat. The bread was delicious and the peppers were cooked to perfection while the prosciutto was not too salty. The slices were respectable as in thickness goes. Fried Calamari - The calamari had just the right amount of crunch that it should have while the marinara sauce was light and tasty. Broccoli Rabe with Sausage - This was another tremendous dish. The combination of the two really made for an appetizing entrée. Rigatoni Pomodoro - Again, the sauce was very light and the pasta was cooked to perfection. Chicken Marsala - The chicken was cooked to perfection and the Marsala wine was ideal. Veal Marsala - Same thoughts apply as the chicken Marsala except with veal! La Bella Vista is a beautiful set up from the long winding road, to the stonework and the beautiful inside set up. My employer has been having their Christmas party there for the last 3-4 years. The food has always been delicious from the appetizers to the entrees. DJs have always been very interactive and fun. Last year they revised their menu to eliminate the chicken option and combine beef/seafood to a Surf N Turf. I didnt mind it but it alienated many coworkers who had allergies and were forced to the Vegeterian option or just half of the meal. Id imagine it was A) to speed up prep/cook times and to B) charge more per menu but it was a bad call + the music selection has gotten worse. It alienated older crowds and has strayed from the popular dance tunes on the radio to a more alternative dance music. "Monday Night Dinners". La Bella Vista is the onsite catering company at the Pontelandolfo Community Club. Popularly known as "The Ponte Club" in Waterbury, CT. Every first Monday of each month, the Ponte Club has a dinner that anyone can attend by simply making a reservation for a table. The dinner is currently $30.00 per person. La Bella Vista does an amazing job preparing the food for this monthly event. The dinner starts with a buffet line of hot and cold hors d'oeuvres such as pannecotte, broccoli rabe and sauage, eggplant rollatini, fried calamari, cheese platters, bruschetta, and more. After the hors d'oeuvres, they begin the sit down dinner served family style. It's always the same basic courses and then finishes with a different main course every month. This Monday nights dinner was above and beyond one of the best. We started with the first course of delicious pasta fagoli. Next course was penne pasta served with a bowl of meatballs and a bowl of the best soufritte you'll ever taste. If you'd like more of anything, ask the waitress and another serving will be brought to your table. Recently attended a wedding here and this place is beautiful! The wedding I attended was outside on top of the hill under the pavilion which for early September was nice, but a little chilly. Also we were lucky it was not raining because there is no cover over the walk way from the pavilion to the bathroom. The view was spectacular. There was a stag going on under the other pavilion and at one point we were overwhelmed by smoke from them cooking, but no one can really help with wind direction. Whatever they were cooking did smell pretty good. There is an indoor section for gatherings but I did not get to check that out. The staff handling the wedding I was at were friendly and attentive. Constantly checking to make sure there were no empty trays as we went thru the buffet line. The food was bland and pretty tasteless and that makes me sad because I wanted to give this place a 5 star review just from the location and the service. However I think cooking mass amounts of food is hard and it sometimes has to be on the more bland side because so many people like such plain things. I cannot speak to cost or how the service or the atmosphere of the inside accommodations were because I did not experience that. It's worth checking out if you are planning a wedding or an event and I honestly hope someone I know gets married there again so I can go back. read more

By far the worst customer service! The manager Amanda was so rude yelling at my friend for asking the staff to move the buffet setup. This is after they had confirmed everything before the event, and after calling numerous times and emailing them. They won't answer the phone, or reply to your emails. The so called "owner" is worthless as well. He stood behind his rude staff, and didn't even bother to apologize for her behavior. Come to find out the owner is Amandas husband. We had wine and soft drinks included, and when I asked the server to start bringing out the wine, and soft drinks he stated they wouldn't be serving any wine that we hadn't paid for a bartender. If you don't ask for them to bring you something they won't bother to ask. I'll never recommend anyone to have their event there. After talking with one of our guests they also said the same thing about the staff. If you're looking for a stressful day, and for things to be done the way they want, and not your way then this is the place for you. If you're looking for an event stress free. I highly recommend going to Aria where you won't get yelled at, or have to worry that the venue won't be set up the way you asked it to be. read more

First event we had here was phenomenal. Came back 2 more times for weddings and both were a terrible visit. Food portions were small, Taste of the food was meh, and service was so so. Staff seemed more like they wanted to get everything done and out of the way than attending to their customers. Since I did not host any of these 3 events, I do not have a say in price, but I feel that this place really went downhill from what it was a few years ago. Parking lot has plenty of spots and the outside decor is gorgeous. Open bar was also a nice treat. Definitely not your usual $5 bottle of wine. Everything about the wedding was a class act. The interim coffee hour was a great segue to the reception. The guests appreciated the opportunity to have a place to relax before the reception. The coffee was good and the desserts were elegant, delicious, yet not overpowering. Your baker did a tremendous job. The hors d'oeuvres at the cocktail hour were so delicious and varied- Italian food at its finest. That food could have been the meal itself. The detail to presentation with the fruit and veggie cutouts was a sight to behold. The entrée was the best I have ever eaten at a wedding and these are not just idle words. The wait staff was extremely accommodating. Every food choice was cooked according to the guest's choice. We asked for well-done meat and it was cooked to perfection. It was very obvious that the owners and chefs take great pride in the immaculate facility and in the food that was served. How heartwarming! Having been to so many weddings, this meal selection was the BEST- from the fresh mozzarella salad, the delicious pasta, the entrée itself and of course the mouth-watering cake! (I rarely eat wedding cakes; this one was soooo.. good!) Great choice! The Venetian table was the perfect ending to a fabulous dinner and wedding day.
