This place was pretty clean and reception was friendly. My nail technician did a terrible job however!! I was here for a work trip and staying at the hotel across the street so decided to give this place a try. I got a shellac/gel manicure and she got it all over my cuticles and skin and did not clean it off in time so it dried that way. She kept trying to file the color off my skin and actually cut the skin under my thumb on one side with the nail file. I kept asking her to clean it up when it was wet but she couldn't/wouldn't for some reason? Maybe it was the language barrier as her English was non-existent . Anyhow, As you may or may not know when this happens with shellac/gel once it starts to grow out from the cuticle it peels. Sure enough after only 6 days it has started lifting and peeling. Also she did not properly apply the top coat and my color (light pink) has stained streaks and indentations on many of the nails. Lastly she did not even give me a hand massage until I asked for some lotion at the end of the manicure when my hands were super dry from the shellac dryer and she said I was done. Then she gave me a 2 minute massage. I get shellac manicures every 2-3 weeks so I feel like I can safely say this manicure totally sucked!!!! I'm going to have to get it redone in 8 days when it usually lasts for much longer from my regular place! Don't waste your money on shellac/gel nails from this place!! read more

The lady I went to had no clue how to do gel/shellac on my natural nail. She had me using the wrong light to dry and the gel was wrinkling up. Then they tried to still charge me when I told the girl to take it all off. Wouldn't recommend them at all. read more

Went in today to try and use a gift certificate that I bought my mom years ago. She lost it and just recently found it. I explained to the guy that we just found it and I was hoping to use it. He said it was expired, so I showed him where the expiration line was blank, the person I purchased it from said they don't expire. He talked to the boss and said no, they wouldn't honor it because they're new owners and can't verify anything on it or if I've used any part of it. Really? I know the thing is old, but it really sucks that because it changed owners I got screwed out of $40. Make sure if you purchase one for someone they plan on using it immediately. Or, maybe skip the gift certificate and give the person cash to get it done with. They apparently don't have much of a system for gift certificates so you could get screwed out of your money too. I guess trying to make a happy customer isn't part of their business. But, looking at their reviews now that's pretty obvious. I'll go back to queen bee. They're great. read more

Took my daughter and her friends here for mani/pedi's. They did a nice job on the nails, let's just hope they last a while, considering how much they charged.. but some of the manicurists were rude, getting irritated because one of the girls did not want gel. My daughter's friend set her shoes on the floor next to her seat while getting her pedi and when she was leaving she noticed there were now blue spots on them. The manager got very defensive, started yelling at me and insulted me acting like she was ready to fight. The man working the front counter was more professional than the manager. I make appointments with Helen or Rose! People on here who comment negatively must not go to other nail salons where they treat you like crap and everything is dirty! This place is Absolutely horrible when it comes lash extensions. Lady who put them on used to much glue, lashes were all over the place (not straight) . Lashes are falling of (thank God). I can't wait for these lashes to fall off so that I can go back to my original person in Cupertino. Save your money and time by not going to this place. read more

Although I enjoyed the manicure at the time, my $30 shellac started peeling on day 3. By day 5 every single nail had started to peel. I should have called to see if they would make it right but I never did. Not sure if it was bad shellac or if I'm just used to it lasting a lot longer from other places. I made an appointment for a fill, and waited for almost 30 minutes more for them to call me to a chair. Once I was seated in a chair, I told them I wanted a shellac fill, and the lady asked me to move to another chair. Once seated again, I told another lady what I wanted, and she asked me once again to move to another seat. For the third time, I explained that I wanted a fill with shellac. She ended up doing a shellac manicure (which I did not ask for), my nails were not filed straight, bumps on top of the nail, one finger bled, and she burned me with the drill. My fingers were pulsating. When I got home, my husband asked what happened to them because they looked horrible. I had to go home and file my nails straight, because they were all different sizes and shapes. Some were square with round corners, some where round all together, and some were completely square. There was nothing I could do about the bumps and indentations on the nail beds, so I left them alone. I still gave the lady a $5 tip, because she was pleasant, but the work was horrible, as was the experience. I will not be going back. Waste of time (almost 2 hours WITH an appt), and waste of money. I did not get what I asked for and no explanation as to why she gave me a shellac manicure. read more

I got a manicure because Lamour was closed and I absolutely hated it. I just wanted white gel nails, and the lady who did my nails automatically complained and said she hates doing white. Then if I moved slightly she would pull my hand and snap to stay still. all the while she still complained on how she hated painting white nails and speaking in another language to her friend.it turned out uneven and crooked. went in for a mani/pedi and in the end i was not satisfied with either. the shape of my toenails was obviously square but the guy who was working on them made them round and then did not even shape them evenly. while working on my toes he left twice w/o letting me know to attend other customers. i was heated at this point yet remained calm. when i would look down to see him working on my toes he would look up at me and make an awkward face... my manicure i thought was decent until i went under the uv light and 3 of my nails were wrinkly due to the top coat. i showed him & he just added more top coats which did not end up helping. the service i received was not worth the 40$ i still have yet to find a good nail salon around the Manteca/Ripon area. read more

So I recently went to La Belle with my friend and before we went in, called to see if they could take us both. The lady on the phone seemed nice, so after reading the other reviews on here I wasn't worried. But once we got there, one guy at the register asked what we came in for, we told him. We sat down, and as he started my friend's nails, I began to talk to my friend and ask her what I should get done (if I wanted a new set of fake nails, or just stick with a fill). And as I was talking to her, the guy interrupted me, and said, "What are you trying to get?" and gave a little smirk. I said, "Well, I was thinking I wanted a new set, but it's cheaper just to do a fill." Upon hearing this, the guy said, "I don't understand what you want." In a rude tone, like I didn't make sense. Then I was called on for my nails. The lady, as she was doing my nails, kept telling me to get gel nails, no fake, gel is better for me, only cost $35 but better for me. I said, "Yeah, no, I'm just going to stick with my acrylic nails." But she kept pushing the idea. That's all she would say when I was sitting. And when I told her I just wanted to stick to what I was planning on doing, she said, "Okay, I mean that's your decision to keep those, I don't want to stop you, get them if you want," but I felt like she was trying so hard to get me to get gel nails or feel guilty about not getting them. I didn't want gel, and started to get irritated but kept my cool. After my friend's nails and mine were done, we both agreed never to go back because of the customer service. I am very disappointed Some of the previous reviews mentioned the wait time but that wasn't an issue for my visit. I had a pedicure & fill. Even though the pedicure was adequate (I was convinced to have the most expensive treatment) I came home & had to moisturize my legs. My fill was terrible. I've been taking hair and nail vitamins for the passed several months. My nails have become super strong and healthy. So I decided to go in for a manicure and have my cuticles cleaned up and a paraffin wax. All I wanted was a clear coat. The lady who did my nails kept trying to bend them and then asked me if I wanted gel. I asked if it would help make them even stronger and she said yes. She prepped my nails by filing down the top surfaces. I never get my nails professionally done so I wasn't sure it that was protocol? But when I paid close attention after the job was finished I realized that she filed my nails paper thin!! So thin that 2 of them have torn, yes torn like paper. Also my nail bed are so sore and bruised feeling. Not to mention the fact that she cut me when removing my cuticles then poured alcohol over the bleeding. Talk about a burn. I came here for the first time because my regular technician was on vacation, and I remembered years ago that the owners of a place I used to go to in Stockton told me that they/their family members were going to open a salon in Manteca named "La Belle", so I assumed this was it, and that I would be getting comparable service. Boy was I ever wrong! Don't know if it's the same family, but the service is horrible. The technician I got did the lazy shellac manicure, removing the previous color primarily with the sander (instead of soaking and scraping, like it should be done), weakening my nails and causing them to break at the quick. Instead of attempting to do a neat, clean paint job, she just slapped the color on and "cleaned it up" with nail polish remover and a brush, during the process of which she removed a fair amount of the color, leaving a significant rim of bare nail around the edge. When I mentioned this, she simply stated "Don't worry, it won't chip", which was not my concern...my concern was that it looked sloppy. She ignored me, continuing to mechanically finish the job with a degree of apathy that bordered on rudeness. I normally get a great shellac job for $10 less than what it cost me here. I won't be coming back! read more
