Finally tried Patati Patata after all these years on a busy Friday evening. It's next door to Bar Big in Japan. We lucked out and were able to grab seats at the counter. The inside is small with 12 seats. Workers were friendly and refilled waters. - Blonde ($7.00 pint) - Poutine classique ($11.00) - shareable between two. Decent but needed more gravy - Filets de sole panés ($15.00) - fish was tender. Fries were serviceable, salad was bland - Burger boeuf ($5.00) - added bacon ($1.00) and cheese ($1.00). Basically a slider. Beef was salty

Definitely a must-visit establishment, of course for the food but also the vibes. Small place but great atmosphere. We went for a Patatine (poutine with cut raw veggies) and Grilled Cheese. Not a fan of Patatine as a concept (still wanted to give it a shot) but the poutine part of that was great. Grilled cheese was amazing. Would definitely visit again to try other things in the menu. Staff was great, super friendly and chilled. Couple of tables and bar seating available inside but many folks just did a takeout. Definitely recommended.

Poutine was very good. Second best i've had in Montreal. However, service seemed cold. Indifferent to my presence. As a tourist, unlikable.

A sweet and haphazard little place. The food was good and needed before walking into the market and gathering some treats. The fries are perfect and the burgers are on the small side, but are flavorful. This is a good stop, if you are wanting some hot food before walking around this neighborhood.

One of the good poutines spot in Montreal. Nothing outof this world but the poutine is goid. Fries are crunchy just enough, brown sauce are good, there should be more cheese but it's a 7.5/10 poutine! Service is good and mood in the restaurant is also nice.

Went here for poutine due to the witty name. Grabbed a counter seat and got the classic poutine along with small cider. The fries are thinner than I expected but good flavor. The olive was a nice touch. I didn't have room for it but the burgers and french onion soup did look good.

My oh my, this was my first Montreal poutine, and by far, the best one I had. Every potato fry was crispy and covered in gravy, which had a beautiful earthy taste. The cheese curds were plentiful and squeaked with every bite. It is a great portion and the price for it was even better. I loved the hard working staff and the fact I could watch my poutine being made in front of me only made me enjoy it more. It is also literally a block or two away from where Canadian icon Leonard Cohen used to live. Hallelujah! I know they tell you never to fall in love with your first, but considering I had other plates of this while in Quebec, exceptions can be made.

Very small and cozy place and Amazing service, food was a 7/10, ordered loaded poutine with beef patties and had to remind them to add cheese to the loaded poutine. It was too small compared to their regular poutine which we ordered too. A bit too expensive for poutine but I guess you are paying for the name.

These fries come as close to European fries as I have had. Order them plain or poutined to a variety of different options. They sell approximately 1000lbs or 454 kilos/day of french fries; at first bite you'll understand why. The Potatoes are locally sourced from Québec, McDonald's sources their potatoes from Québec as well which is indicative of the fame and quality product grown in Canada. If you are a fry potatohead, you can't go wrong at Patati.

Did I actually choose a vegan dish? I was really intrigued after reading all the raving reviews on the tofu burger so I decided to give it a try. It was a mini slider size for $4, very reasonably priced and a good size for tasting so you can try other items. We also got the poutine and eggs which was an interesting combination but it wasn't anything too exciting. Overall friendly staff and a nice place for lunch.

A great quick grab and go spot if you're on the move or even if you want to dine in. A low key corner unit on a busy street that is hustling and bustling throughout the night. Had the opportunity to try their classic poutine and my mind was blown away. Crispy fries with your classic cheese curds and gravy. Loved every bite of it and still thinking about this for the next time I go back.

Just poutine. Pretty small space so best for taking out. Know what you want to order before you go cuz it gets crowded.

I'd never had the French Canadian heart-attack-on-a-plate, and was a little nervous as it just looks like it has A LOT going on. I sludged into La Banquise dead sober at 4:11am, as this is a legendary spot that is open 24 hours. I sat down in a bustling no frills atmosphere and remembered my deep appreciation for a 24-hour diner. You see people for who they really are this early in the morning. A couple in front of me was in a heated argument about what "being exclusive" really meant, while two separate groups of 4 to my right were feeling no pain and enjoying a poutine night cap. There I was, sipping on my black coffee mentally prepping myself for the 45 mile (72 km) day I had in front of me. The dichotomy of life. I asked the server what the most popular item was, and he said La Scooby. This monstrosity consisted of fresh cut fries, cheese, gravy, ground beef, bacon, onions, fried pickles, and caesar dressing garlic sauce. I got the small ($12.40 usd), but this thing was a TANK. It was bigger than my head and I have a HUGE head. The large must be a family style portion or somethin. Upon first bite, it was damn good. I completely see the poutine appeal. Is it an ideal meal dead sober at 4:11am? No, absolutely not, but this is an S-tier hangover food. Also, if there is ever a day when I need some extra calories, it's on a 100k step day. All the staff was so welcoming, and surprisingly chipper this early in the morning. SHOUTOUT TO LA BANQUISE! THANK YOU FOR FUELING THE JOURNEY! IG @johnny.novo Tiktok @jnov__ Substack @johnnynovo

No Michigan sauce (yes, they call it Michigan sauce), no smoked meat, or any of the other add-ons that have become trendy over the years. Poutineville offers both. In addition to a menu of poutine choices: mac and cheese, General Tao, Philly steak, Hat Trick, and Stroganoff, you can also build your own, where you select different fries (regular, julienne, sweet potato), cheeses (curds, mozzarella, cheddar, and Swiss), gravies (regular, red wine, butter, maple, cream, etc), and toppings (egg, hot dog, corn dog, gyro, smoked meat, etc). I had considered the Hat Trick, which included bacon, hot dogs, and ground beef, but in the end, I stuck with the classic, but added extra cheese curds. I loved the crunchy and tender fries. However, I would have preferred a bolder sauce and melted cheese curds. IMO, the best poutines have cheese layered so there is a cheese pull, like in a good French onion soup, a mozzarella stick, or pizza. My sister's Stroganoff poutine was interesting and included thinly sliced steak, mushrooms, onions, two types of cheese, and a cream sauce. We both ordered the smaller size, but I was just not able to finish - so be sure to bring your appetite. We both liked our server, who ably tended to all the tables. On the day of our visit, there were large groups of friends and family, all happily sampling the variety of poutines.
