I was greeted by the lady in the picture and as soon as I ordered, she got to making everything for me, on the spot. I ordered a Mamma Mia açaí bowl and a The Best smoothie. She made everything in front of me so I knew it was fresh. All of her fruits looked so good, nothing rotten. The bowls and smoothies tasted as organic as possible. There's no added sugar (except for a drizzle of honey on the açaí bowl). This might not be everyone's cup of tea, especially if you like things to be sweet but I thought it was really refreshing! I came here with my girlfriends for something refreshing to fight this summer heat. The açaí bowls are so yummy- and I'm not a fan of açaí. I added mango, strawberries, bananas, all the goodies. My friend has the smoothie and it was incredible! This is definitely my new go to place in Van Nuys. It beats the generic Jamba Juice and Robeks. I highly recommend. Recently been looking into juices due to trying to add more fruits and veggies in my diet after realizing that I hardly get any nutrients throughout my day. I have been feeling sluggish and foggy minded and physically felt that my body was lacking certain nutrients so one day in between work appointments I looked for a juice bar nearby and saw this little hole in the wall nearby. I was very excited because as soon as you walk in you see all the colorful fruits and veggies and there is a large variety of different types of pressed juices, smoothies, and health shots! My eyes were looking all over the place because they even have great juices for cleanses, detox, hangover cures, etc! As soon as I saw all these I was like yup I found my juice spot! The lovely woman saw me looking around and recommended me a house juice and showed me all the fruits and veggies that go into it and I was like yup that is just what I need! The juice was delicious, I felt more energetic that day and had felt my body thanking me for the nutrients I gave it. The parking here is done with meters. The trip is usually very quick so you could get away without putting quarters in the meters which is what I have done. Such a beautiful place and there is such comfort in this shop. Established in 2016.

Inspired by the documentary "Fat, sick and nearly dead", the owner of this location started drinking fresh juices to fight lupus. A month later, her symptoms were visibly reduced. Full of energy and having found a new appreciation for nutrition, the owner decided to open up a business to reflect the idea of appreciating life through our nutrition. That's when the Bona Energia was born.

Meet the Business Owner: Yessica F.

My inspiration was born when I'm diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called lupus. one month later I'm started drinking fresh juices and my symptoms were visibly reduced.With full energy and having found a new appreciation for nutrition.

I like this little juice / smoothie / salad place and I'm really happy that it's here in Van Nuys! Fresh-pressed juices, smoothies, protein shakes, salads and frozen treats are a healthy alternative to fast-food in the area. I wish they would include fresh vegetable soups as well. Note to owner: Please do this! Freshly made veggie soups would be fantastic. My only criticism is that they have used overly ripe / already turned fruit / veggies on the salads or in a juice mix on a couple / few occasions (the radishes were brown, rotten and mushy, tomatoes were way over-ripe and mushy-kind of thing) which made the juice (or salad) pretty much inedible. I get the impression that the staff doesn't want to say that they are out of a particular ingredient so they will go ahead and use old veggies / fruit but I would much rather hear that they are temporarily OUT vs. handing over something that tastes bad / can't be consumed. That's not a regular-thing though. Really fabulous and healthy, fresh-pressed carrot / apple / beet juice with lemon is SO GOOD (or any of the seemingly infinite combinations available). read more

I'm so happy I finally stopped by this local smoothie spot! The lady working inside was incredibly sweet and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The place was spotless, and I love that it's within walking distance of my apartment. They have an amazing selection of smoothies, protein options, detox juices, and so many healthy alternatives to choose from. I also tried the oatmeal, and it was absolutely delicious! This is a family owned business with a big smile and great attitude. Their prices are extremely low for the portion size. Can customize any order to your liking. They sell deli style sandwiches which are freshly made. The parfaits are healthy yet filling with a crunch that's addictive. They also have huge covered chocolate strawberries which are also delicious. Grab and go with a freshly made salad. I love this place! I drive for Lyft as a par- time and given that I live in NoHo I'm around the area a lot. Whenever I feel hungry or I crave something cold I go to La Bona Energia for a fruit smothie, something that feels me up and is specially refreshing in those hot days in the valley. I have been to this juice spot a couple times now. Jonathan goes above and beyond to understand what it is you need. Just two weeks ago, I had a horrible stomach ache and he recommended a beet based juice that helped me heal. No artificial sugars are added it's simply just a blend of the right fruits and vegetables. I highly recommend this place, you won't regret it. Worth every penny! read more

I love this place so much. My favorite juice bar in sfv. They have a great selection of products and healthy snacks. My favorite items is the greek fruit salad and the number 8 juice.
