From the deli department , to the pastry, hot cases, cold cases, ready made salads, dairy, freshly baked bread everyday, candy, chips, beverages of all kinds all the way to meat, and produce. There is something for everyone..They even have fresh seafood and marinated poultry. All the employees are super nice, helpful and friendly. Clean store and the ailes are not too cramped up. I picked up a few items tonight, and one item missed the mark. * The Bad -- Hard Rice: The pickled pear baked salmon onigiri had a tough, dry texture. * Food : The package label showed the rice ball was already three days old. * High Price: It cost nearly $7 for stale food that I could not finish. Their prices are high. Head to the Valley's Japanese grocery store like Mitsuwa in Northridge for sushi or a Korean grocery store like Greenland Market in Van Nuys for prepared food made the same day at lower prices. The Good: * The spam musubi was made the same day and tasted fresh. * The butter mochi was delicious. Final Thoughts: I expected fresh food made that morning. Selling three-day-old rice balls at this price is unacceptable. I will not return because they sell items past their prime. Keep in mind that they are only open on Sundays between the hours of 8AM to 1:30/2pm. Depending on the foot traffic. They have a lot of vendors that sell a good amount of everything. To name a few: They sell good and fresh fruits/vegetables, nuts, spices, candles, jewelry (mostly custom made), dried fruit, spreads, flowers of many kinds, pastries/breads of different kinds, hot and cold food/beverages, berries of every kind, all the way to a small play area where kids can ride a small train, jump in the bouncers, and have a carousel of cute pony rides. Just by looking at the smiles and the excitement on their faces, makes me want to get up on one of the pony's myself, and the man looked at me funny. They also do face painting and prices are not that cheap. Depending on what you get. Established in 1998. It really is a fun place to be on a Sunday morning/early afternoon. All vendors are super nice, friendly and they let you sample few things before buying it. I bought Sunflowers, some spices, berries, olive bread loaf, and couple of cookies. Easy to see why it was voted the most kid friendly Farmers Market by Los Angeles Magazine. Located between Radford Ave. & Laurel Canyon Blvd with some free parking available though limited. Mostly street metered and business plaza parking in the area but super accessible in many ways including the LADOT Dash which drops off across the street and many LA Metro busses that run alongside Ventura Blvd and/or Laurel Canyon. Familiar chains and staples all around as well including Prince Street Pizza who also has a tent booth for personal size pies directly in front among all the great vendors. Also in the mix of Joan's on Third - Studio City, McConnell's Fine Ice Creams, Alfred Coffee, Big 5 Sporting Goods and loads of others. Many vendors offer samples for your enjoyment like the awesome ladies of Mama Aunties Vegan Goodies. No Animals Allowed except for service animals, but you'll see a few people breaking the rules quite a bit. The store is pretty small with narrow aisles and can get crowded quickly. We started in the hot food/salad bar area where Anya helped us with our order. She answered all our questions regarding the products and was quick + swift while taking care of everyone. We got chicken cutlets, cheese boregs, a variety of cold salads, some Borscht soup, and a few pastries. The cheese/cold cut deli area doubles as the checkout counter as well. Irina helped us here and she was very kind and helpful in helping us decide on a DELICIOUS cheese (Village Cheese). It's truly a fantastic cheese and I wish we got a bigger piece of it. I'd also like to mention Danny, I'm not sure if he is the owner or maybe one of the managers, but he was also very helpful and knowledgeable. The service here was great from everyone we encountered and the place was extremely organized and clean. I think the only downside is that not all the labels have an English translation, so unless you can read Russian, you are left in the dark about what the products are. Some of the salads/hot foods have translations but not all of them. Our total for all our groceries came out to $84.01, which I think was appropriate for the amount of things we purchased and the quality of the products. I need to make it an effort to come here more often and try more items!
