    If you ever go to Paris, you must look up this restaurant and go ! And I will tell you why... By an odd chance, I signed up for Paris Groupons, and found this brand new restaurant across from the Siene Riever and Notre Dame. What an amazing dinner and unforgettable experience! I had emailed them prior to our trip to let them know it was a special ocassion, and not familiar with Paris, wanted to make sure we would be able to visit Notre Dame at the same time, being there for only 4 days. They assured us that we would have a window table with a nice view of Notre Dame. They were so accomodating in their emails, and their English was good. We were staying in a flat right by the Eifel Tower(15th district), and decided to take a taxi. It was a nice 15 minute ride through the 5th & 6th district and was still light out at 7pm. It was my birthday, and being our last night in Paris, we still had not seen Notre Dame, which was a must see on our list. Well, when our taxi dropped us off in front the restaurant, it was literally right across from Notre Dame and Siene River! I mean, it was right in our faces! OMG, we were so estactic, we took pictures since it was still light, and all we could hope was the restaurant was just as beautiful. We walked in, and it was what you would picture a beautiful French restaurant would look like.. Glass chandeliers, wood front desk, white tiled floors and candles all around. A beautiful Parisian lady greeted us in her French accent, we told her our names, took our coats, and introduced us to our French waiter who spoke no English, which made it even more authentic! When he took us to our table for 4, it was in pink (my favorite color), Rose petals all over, and candles already lit! To top it off, my seat had a bird's eye view of Notre Dame! Groupons are always hit and miss, and you always seem to have mediocre service when you show them.. Not so here, they treated us with professionalism and we had a 4 course meal for 4 and wine (300 Euros value) for 89 Euros a couple! 1st course- A Cheese plate and glass of champagne 2nd Course- Escargot, Frois Gras, salad, 3rd- Leg of Lamb, veal, Filet Mignon, Mushroom Risotto (for our Vegetarian) 4t Course- Creme Brulee, Wine poached pear, Rasberry Tart, and a Chocolate souffle for dessert! One neat experience was my husband ordered a Coke, and they brought out a real bottle, and opened it up at the table, and poured it for him! It will truly be one of the most memorable birthdays of my life, and ending the evening by walking around Notre Dame at night was the cherry on top! Hope you enjoy the pictures!

    Horrible - generic supermarket tart

    I think people who give this place good reviews MUST be tourists. Sorry but this restaurant does NOT serve good french food and anyone who has lived in France for even a short period of time could tell you that. First of all the service is HORRIBLE. I understand that most french restaurants take their time to serve you but this was beyond slow. Getting our menu alone took 15 min and they forgot to give us a wine list. The bread is reheated and if you don't eat it within the first 5 minutes it becomes a ROCK. We had escargot as a sharing starter and i don't even care about the snails (ps they are super small here), I just want that buttery garlic sauce. There was SO little sauce to dip at the end, talk about a HUGE disappointment. Anyway, my own starter was shrimp with soy sprouts. what. on. earth. The soy sprouts were RAW, crunchy and the seasoning was just soy sauce. The shrimps were 100% frozen and they gave you legit TWO tiny shrimps that they cut into 3 pieces each. Possibly one of the worst starters I've ever had in a nice restaurant. My main I had salmon with basmati rice. this was okay, not horrible but not good either. Luckily the salmon was not dry. Finally, for dessert I had a strawberry tart. This was like a dessert tart you would buy from your local supermarket pastry section. DISGUSTING. I love dessert and this just confirmed that this restaurant is a complete rip off. The tart itself was dry, and the custard was gross and chunky. Needless to say, I didn't finish this. The only reason this place doesn't get one star is because the restaurant is nice. NEVER come here. You might as well go to any random cheap brasserie and eat the same quality food.

The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

It serves a small number of curated dishes, including a wonderfully traditional Bistro Gratin in a homey ceramic dish served piping hot with a brown crispy cheesy top, herbs, spices and chicken. You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. When I arrived, there was a rustic table in the entry room where I was seated. I ordered an entrée of mini mushroom raviolis in truffle sauce, a plat of scallops over orzo which had chorizo chunks and a dessert of frozen Grand Marnier soufflé. The portions were generous. I enjoyed the mini mushroom raviolis and delicious Grand Marnier soufflé. The plat was somewhat odd because the chorizo chunks were really strong flavored which overpowered the scallops. I ate one chorizo chunk and pushed the rest aside. The scallops were cooked perfectly but not seasoned. The service was gruff/quite brief with dishes dropped by assistants. My biggest complaint was the stressful ambiance during the meal. It was freezing outside. The door constantly opened and new patrons came in hovering over diners in my room. Luckily I was not closer to the door and didn't have anyone over me. For ~170 Euros, the food was good but the experience was not.
