The customer service at La Cabana has gone aggressively down hill. I have never had such unpleasant experiences here but the last one was enough for us to never return. Both cashiers were incredibly rude, I waited in one line for over 10 minutes only for the cashier to refuse to check us out and then making us move to a second long line to which we were greeted by another rude cashier. Our food was made incorrectly three different times requiring us to make two trips back to the restaurant and then them asking to return a THIRD time to try to get the order correct and then refused to refund us for the incorrect item... both cashiers were rude giving eye rolls, attitude, and utter arrogance. read more

We go here often and service is usually spot on. But this past week we went and I ordered chicken, cheese and rice. My meal comes and at first I did not realize that I had no rice. We went to pay and we have the charger disconnect card which is 10% off excluding alcohol. The main guy there took my card and coupon and gave me receipt after I asked for it. We got here around 11:30 for lunch. When we walked in the place smelled of cleanliness and we were greeted immediately and seated. Our water was kept full and the chips were hot! A huge serving soup and it was delicious! Very fresh vegetables simple chicken. I will definitely be back! read more

My husband and I ate here during the Soybean Festival while waiting on a concert to begin-SWITCHFOOT! The restaurant is right on the downtown main street surrounded by cute little shops. We both got a bean burrito with rice and beans and NO CHEESE on any of it-vegan and of course, chips and salsa. The food wasn't anything special, just "ok". Service was fine. When it was time to pay, we had to walk all the way in back of the restaurant to find where the cashier was located. You can enter the restaurant from the back of the restaurant, too, so maybe that is the reason the cashier is located back there. Usually at other places, you can pay at your table or there is a place to pay near the front door. No big deal though! read more

He works with the right attitude for complete satisfaction. His food entree is excellent and deliciously prepared. Very good food when, or if, it arrives. When you ask your waiter about the status of your food and he says he is the only waiter on duty, it is one thing. However, as more customers come in, get seated, and served, as well as more waiters become visible, men and women in black shirts with the La Cabana logo on front and back, for your waiter to still give you he-is-the-only-one excuse 40 minutes after ordering, is ridiculous. That the food is good is affirmed by how long this restaurant has existed in this desirable piece of real estate. However, glancing at reviews on Facebook as well as here, this glacial speed of service underscores the issue that receiving your order is more a matter of IF than WHEN. read more

Oh my gosh. I ordered a taco salad. It was runny and as I sat there drinking what was supposed to be a margarita on the rocks that tasted like lemonade with NO tequila, a roach ran across the floor, I pointed to it to the waiter. He stepped on it and left it on the floor. Guess what folks, there are roaches in all your food too! STAY AWAY! Crap food and bugs! Shut em down! read more

During my lunch break I called to place an order. The gentleman whom answered the call was very rude, arrive to pick my order up & the two gentleman I saw once entering the restaurant didn't speak. Agree. Food is standard Mexican fare and drinks are good. I love the inter fountain courtyard, but... service is slow and poorly attended. Not sure, but I think they're in back checking their phones. I think this is just the nature of people in West Tennessee. You can't get them to work most times, or they've never been trained on service or quality. Not affordable for college students. First off the food was not horrible, but let's say service is. Our waiter did not get anything right we ordered an appetizer but he brought it to the table one minute ahead of our meal. But two attractive young women came in and sat he was all up on them right away still not ever checking in on us, or even checking on a table that had not even ordered yet. What got me he did not care the two girls but a table of two males he carded big mistake if the ABC ever spot check you bam liquor licence gone. Like I said good ok. I know we have had Angel (what I hear is the owners son) as a waiter at least 4-5 times this past year and he act like its a crime to wait on you. So last night I went in with a group of nine and the waiter (who I don't have his name) started off forgot the lemons in every ones tea(no a big deal right). But then my drink was empty (most of ours was) and still no refills or lemons. We waited at least 15mins before we had our drink order then another 10mins before the food order and it was about 45mins after that before we got our food. Then our good wasn't correct. Long story short we tired and tired to get the waiters attention and gave up and just ate the food. My family and I came in here and ordered our drinks. We kept waiting and about 40-45 minutes later we got our drinks. Absolutely ridiculous! If they are short on staff then hire people or something. Waiting for refills on drinks is a nightmare. We didn't get to order our food until about an hour into our visit. We ordered and still waited about 30 minutes. Ideal to the average wait time on food but the biggest issue was they didn't even get half our order right! Which in my opinion yeah they make mistakes but we have told the staff 3 times we were ready and still they didn't take our order. When people come into a restaurant they typically probably spend an hour and a half there eating. We have spent a total of 2 hours and still have one waiting to get his food. Not good at all! I live in Florida for 18 years, so I am a little picky on Mexican food. This my favorite mexican restaurant in Martin, but it isn't extraordinary. The salsa is OK, but it is pureed, and I prefer mine more chunky, they do have AWESOME fajitas, but you have to pay for extra tortillas (they only give you 2 small ones). I do not like their chimichangas (which is my favorite burrito type food...usually). their queso blanco is yummy, but their grouund beef in general is dry and flavorless, so stick to the chicken read more

First...we came in the back door (to the bar) because we didn't know there was another one and no one directed us elsewhere (they just stared at us) so I finally figure out "oh we have to go to the front." So we walked through the restaurant to the front and say we have 2 and a half because we had our toddler with us. Maybe I should start by saying we had our autistic 2.5 year old with us. Anyway, he was already upset because he couldn't sit in the giant booth in the bar area and then he saw the water fountain...so he was having a meltdown. We asked if we could be seated near the water fountain and kind of away from where all the people were and she said "well we only have one waiter...so no." Ok, little snippy, but that's fine...so we sit down and he's loud. No one is talking, there's no music playing, you can hear a pin drop. So, we've now been inside this restaurant for 10+ minutes. We sit at the table wrangling the toddler for another 5 or so minutes eating the chips and salsa they've brought. We both have mentioned to each other that the chips and salsa were not that great at all. Fast forward...a lady comes walking very fast up to the table out of breath and mumbles some words...I say "I'm sorry what?" And she VERY rudely looks me in my eyes and says "DRINKS!!" like I should be ashamed of myself for not being able to decipher her words. My face needed deliverance. And I chose very nice words and said "ok...you're right maybe we should go somewhere else...that was very rude...this is a joke." I didn't raise my voice. And I didn't curse. I was very upset with this place, though. However, I am glad we left because there were at least 10 tables full of people and none of them had food yet...just chips. And that doesn't surprise me considering how long it took someone to ask us for our drink order. We won't be returning...so I won't be able to tell you how the food is, but the chips were stale and the salsa was horrendous. read more

Good service and the food is pretty good. I personally like to go somewhere with an older crowd, but that's just me.

I would like to start this review with my initial impression of the restaurant and its atmosphere. It's truly unique and unlike any other Mexican restaurant I have personally seen. This being said atmosphere only goes so far. The food is average or a little better to other Mexican restaurants in the Martin area which I am please with. However the biggest problem with this restaurant is the service. The waiters/waitresses are very slow about seating, refills, and checks. I would be more understanding if the restaurant was packed or short staffed. But when I can visually see my waiter sitting down and using his cell phone when I need service , there's something wrong. These are the things that can ruin a good restaurant and the management needs to understand these issues. read more

Had a great meal here with the family last night. The decor was nicely done. The booths and tables were clean and comfortable. Our server Jose was thorough and attentive. I had the shrimp fajitas. The shrimp were cooked well and were appropriately spicy. There were plenty of vegetables as well. The rice and beens were good. The guacamole was fresh. My husband had a chicken tacos platter which were also tasty. All meals were hot and fresh. The quest dip was loved by all including my nine month old. As I read the reviews that came before me, I wonder how some folks gripe about service when it's obvious there is a language barrier in front of you. Remember your there for the food. You can't eat service so your there for the food and there is plenty of good food to be had. The chips were warm and the salsa was a blended mix with a bit of a friendly kick. I went for the Chimichanga's and was not disappointed. Go in from the street at 305 and walk into a sports bar. Around back is the front door to the restaurant. Altogether it ties neatly together. So go there for the food and don't fret about what type of service that you may or may not get. read more
