    Corn cake
    Sean M.

We stopped in for a quick coffee and pastry but once we got inside we thought we have to come back and eat a real meal. We sat at the counter and were helped immediately. The coffee was fresh ground and brewed in front of us - amazing!! The sweet corn cake con queso was delicious. Seriously delicious! The guava pastry was good, but we both liked the corn cake a lot more. Super low key, come as you are neighborhood place that just feels friendly and welcoming.

(From March 2022) So after finishing my trek from the The Lab and my stroll on the Riverwalk, I decide to walk further to the innings festival at Raymond James. Covering four miles, of course I needed to stop and get some eats/drinks (aka the cuban sandwich) and saw this place so walked in, sat at the bar, ordered and chilled for a bit while catching my breath. So the cuban sandwich I was served was a good size but not what I was expecting: it had lettuce, tomato, onion, and salami; no pork. Plus gobs of mustard squirted out as I was eating it so the messiness was at a 10 level. The sandwich tasted fine but I was hoping for the traditional cuban (ham, swiss, pork, pickles, mustard/mayo, toasted cuban bread). Maybe I ordered the wrong thing? And it was so large I couldn't finish it. At least it left me full. It's a small mom/pop shop with a bakery and traditional cuban eats such as yuca, plaintains, empanadas, cheese bread, etc. I probably should've went with that instead but you live and you learn.

Came here for a quick breakfast and the bread I got has mold. It was so disgusting it made me puke. They don't make their bread fresh here. I returned the food and owner gave me a refund for everything. I will not come back in this place anymore.

    Aborrajado

I have had some yummy Latin food at Antojitos over the years. Stopped in today for a late lunch/snack. They were out of my usual favorites so chose an Aborrajado de Platano (battered plantains and cheese) to go. It had an extremely dark filling, and a bitter, burnt taste. I just could not eat it. The plantains and cheese were indecipherable.

Their juices and empanadas are amazing! FYI: try Maracuya and Guanabana juices. Once you eat breakfast here, you'll want to come back for dinner and lunch. The service is pretty fast and you'll get what you need in a couple of minutes.

My first time here. I ordered the beef sancocho, it was really good, broth flavorful. I also has the beef empanadas which was also very good. Service was good. Will come back.

How do Colombians not get confused between the two on the top right corner?

There is a Colombian bakery in Jax (Jacksonville y'all) called antojitos colombianos that sells these pan de bono that are more addictive than meth and coke combined. While in Tampa, I visited this place and they have two that look pretty much the same, plus one that's circular. I couldn't decide which one to get so I did what every other sane human being would have done: get them all. At $1.25 each, why not? The good news is, when you go, you won't have the same dilemma, because here I am sharing the taste report. Happy carbing! - Almojábana - my favorite, crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy inside - Pan de Bono - like almojábana but with more cheese, hence denser - Pan de queso - bit too dry (probably good with coffee) PS: no minimum to pay with plastic.

We LOVE this place!!! It really is a hole in the wall and parking is kinda tight but don't let that deter you. When we find ourselves in Tampa and in the mood for empanadas, we immediately think of Antojitos. The chicken empanadas are my favorite but the stuffed yucca is also on the top of my list. Get some pan de bono too! Service is great even though they're always packed. Prices are cheap. The food is flavorful. Every table is given some SUPER SPICY sauce that looks like a homemade salsa. Be careful (if you're not conditioned to spicy Latin food) or your tongue might fall off!! But seriously, it's got some flavorful HEAT!

This place is not in the best part of town so we almost didn't go at all. However, we decided to order take-out and try a few items. We tried two beef empanadas, two pandebonos (Colombian cheese bread), chicharrón, mora (blackberry juice), and a loaf of their pancacho. The empanadas were not crispy, however the filling (potatoes and shredded beef) was very traditional and tasty. The hot sauce was good but did have a slightly bitter aftertaste. I would have liked the dough to be crispier but perhaps we got some old ones that had been sitting out for a little while. The pandebonos were perfectly made and delicious. The chicharrón was crispy and my husband seemed to enjoy it. Mora juice was excellent what little I had...my kid drank nearly half of it. The prices are reasonable and all of this only set us back about $20.

Even the pic on the outside sign shows them with that sauce, but nope never got it. They also have their usual Colombian drinks which are Postobon and Colombiana. It's in a stand alone building, right next to a large apartment complex. The turn is very easy to miss on your first visit, even with GPS. But once you've been there, you'll never miss it again. Your tastebuds will lead you home. When I got there, early on a Thursday morning, the place was humming. There are no tables or booths-it's take out only... and people were whizzing in-then whizzing out with big boxes or bags. That was a very good sign. But soon, I didn't notice the other people (cue the music montage)... I was mesmerized-transfixed, even... by all the goodies. Everything from delicate coconut pastries to corn casserole to fruit tarts/tortes, to chicken empanadas, to fancy cakes to big, puffy/fluffy cheese loaves... all beautifully displayed and labeled. It was a feast for the senses. I couldn't stop taking photos! I also couldn't decide what to get, but finally blurted out something about the corn casserole and quickly added the coconut cocada and pan bolo (guava). I am happy to report that everything tasted as good as it looked. As the 80s ballad declared: "the search is over"... I have found my favorite bakery, I love that it has both sweet and savory items. I will be back again and again. But not just for the food. It's the service! The woman helping me was absolutely delightful. She was warm and friendly and helpful and full of good suggestions. She was sunshine. That's something you can't put in a display case or add to a recipe.. Ricopan, you're a star! I'll be back! P.s. private parking lot-fair prices-very clean and they also sell coffee-maybe other drinks, too.
