I was craving some Dominican food in Flatbush and La Cabana Rodriguez did not disappoint!!! I ordered the Oxtail, Rice and Beans and Plantain and the ladies gave me friendly service. If you are looking for a down to earth, Dominican restaurant with relaxed vibes in the stop by here because the flavors and vibes do not disappoint

I've eaten here plenty of times over the years. You can count on the line being out the door. I've had fried chicken, roasted chicken, fried fish, steak, all variations of rice and beans. I like the seafood salad even though there's only shrimp. The flan is good also. The Henny Colada is bomb too. At one point you could order drinks with alcohol to go as long as you purchase food. Over the past 5 years, I've only had one issue with my fried chicken not being cooked all the way through but for the most part the food is consistently good and fresh because it is always crowded. Service is kinda chaotic if you are not used to the crowdedness. Be patient and be prepared to wait.

I haven't eaten from here since the late 90's, so I was a little apprehensive. I decided to get what would get in the past ... Fried pork chops - lack of flavor (I mean no flavor at all) Fried chicken- tasty and fried perfectly White Rice & Beans - very tasty Empanadas- I ordered 1 beef and 1 beef and cheese (I gambled to figure out which was which) Cheese Empanada- was over seasoned (should've use that on the pork chops) Beef Empanada - was perfect I'm not sure if it was an off day, but I'll give them another try in the future.

Wet ckn no peas & rice smh

I always order from here they didn't send my peas & rice the chicken I got was so wet 1/2 rotisserie I'm so upset I'm done. Its always a hit or miss tonight was bad a big miss smh

The food is bomb! There's always a long line and a crowd so bring your patience! The servers are quick but aren't very friendly but if you're more interested in the food than making friends then you'll definitely enjoy it. My favorite combo is the salt fish and yucca. Try it! Prices are reasonable and portions are enough to be shared.

Not like it used to be. All I ordered was 1 fried chicken breast, a side of rice and beans with plantains. A bottle of water. The plate was nice enough but when she rang it up at $25 I could not believe it. Then said it was plus tax, so after a small tip I paid over $30 for my son's lunch. I'm on a restrictive diet and didn't even order anything ... I used to come here as a kid and just wanted my son to experience the place while we were in town. it's definitely not the way I remember it. These must be new owners. If you don't speak Spanish, prepare to be ignored and treated rather poorly.

That set the tone of attentive service, which continued throughout an exceptional meal in Bath Beach. This area is busy, in a locals doing their thing kind of way. It's a real neighborhood, and La Chacra is a great reason to check it out. We initially had decided on ordering the Combo La Chacra, which consists of a whole rotisserie chicken, yellow rice with red beans, an avocado salad, an order of salchipapas, and an order of maduros. We added an extra half chicken, and thought "that's a wrap". However, there was an appetizer special of thinly sliced octopus prepared Peruvian style that needed to be ordered too. The service was excellent. Not overwhelming, but just right. Dishes were cleared, napkins replaced, straw wrappers taken away as soon as they hit the table. It's not something that I'm used to writing about, but needed to be said. And then, the food. It was outstanding. Compared to both the basic, and the high end Peruvian restaurants that I've been to throughout the city, La Chacra is far and away the best. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and felt intentional. Nothing was just thrown on a plate. As full as we were, and we were quite full, there was no way that we were leaving without trying something from the desert menu. Another wise choice, as both the flan and the tres leche cake were fantastic. To wrap this one up, this spot is a solid five stars. The prices are very reasonable and the food, service, and charming atmosphere will have us returning soon.

When we sat down we noticed that they revamped their menu and had so many new options of Latin American food to try. While reviewing their menu i saw that they had Pollo Chuco!! An Honduran (home country) dish that is so hard for me to find places that make it. I immediately ordered this as i get it whenever i see it on any menu. The rest of my family ordered pupusas, chicharrón de cerdo con tostones and Pollo a la plancha. When ordering the waitress seemed to have issues understanding our orders even though we specified the number on the menu of the order we wanted. I had ordered my food without onions as im not a fan of onions and the food came out with it. They took the food back and had all the onions removed which was fine. There was basically a whole fried chicken which was very surprising! It tasted delicious. The pupusas were great too and the chicharrón con tostones was very surprising in how much food there was on the plate!! All the food was delicious. The place itself could use a little work on the decor and even though we came on a Tuesday night there were a few people inside. After we had finished our meal we asked for the check and as we were going to pay with out credit cards the waitress said that they only accept cash!!!! We did not bring enough cash for all the food we got because we had never run into this problem before. Its a good thing there was a bank close by that one of us went to go get cash. But this would have been great information to have before we ordered and ate. We looked through the menu and on their entrance and nowhere sid it say they only accepted cash. We will definitely return here though.

The service is impeccable, the wait staff is well versed in the menu and will offer help if you don't know how to truly get the best sandwich that you can. The star here is the roast beef sandwich, it's moist and flavorful and cooked absolutely perfectly. My suggestion is to order it with cheese and have it dunked in the au jus. I prefer what they call a "knife and fork job" where the sandwich, the meat the bread is all dunked and comes out in a river of au jus. They make amazing sides, I typically go for the onion rings and corn fritters which are tasty, fried nugget of sweet corn and they are delicious. Do note, they only take cash and sometimes it takes a while to get your food but in the end it is so very worth it.

Curious about the "famous" Brooklyn roast beef war -- yeah! it's a thing! -- T and I decided to see for ourselves. (Once I try the competition I'll weigh in with my vote.) With a reputation built on beef we ignored other options and researched how to order. You can get double dip, "dingle-dangle" (don't ask), cheese/no cheese ... it was confusing. We both went with rare roast beef, cheese and onions. T asked for his double-dipped in gravy. Yum! Short of five stars, but yum nonetheless. We ordered two unhealthy sides which added to the decadence of our lunch: corn fritters and onion rings. If you only get one, go with the fritters. The place is busy. You'll likely have to wait a bit -- but I found it interesting to watch the guys at the counter work. Service was friendly and attentive. Unlike someone's comment about paying blind -- not so. We were given a check with an accurate breakdown of what we ordered. Prices are posted. And yes -- cash only.
