Jerk chicken plate with cabbage and rice and peas. A side of jerk chicken only--small $8-it was such a generous portion! So flavorful. DoorDash was fast! Def will be back :)

I don't even know how to compose this review about Peppa's. Like fuh real FR! I have mixed feelings but I ain't here for all of that so let's get into the real meat. Yeah, daiz ah big fat, juicy pun. Their food is really good. I enjoy it. A LOT! I could eat it every day (except the rolls on my sides aren't feeling that typa vibe). Customer service IN MY EXPERIENCE 2.5/5 Cleanliness 5/5 Ease of order 4/5 Special order, (for instance you don't want your oxtail mixed with your macaroni salad) 0/5. Food great! 5/5 Like I said, my rolls have started complaining because I've been here numerous times even without checking into Yelp BUT, I'm trying to stay away. However, If you're in the mood for good, affordable, Caribbean food you should definitely give them a try. Tell ya personal trainer I said "HEY". The end.

The food is so delicious very tasty not overwhelming with too much spices that you can't enjoy it. The food is fresh and you could see the kitchen with is very neat and clean. The staff was very nice and even told me to take care of myself when taking my insulin. I tried a festival and it was amaze ball, our friends recommended this place and it was a great choice bc I plan on visiting the each time I'm in Brooklyn" spread love is the Brooklyn way.

I walked into Peppa's and was greeted immediately. I ordered the $7 lunch special, a small jerk chicken meal with rice and cabbage. I also ordered a Sprite and festival, which seemed like a bread dessert. I would have ordered the mac n' cheese, but they didn't have any today. The service was okay. A person who came in after me was served before me, perhaps a regular. I was given half of my order, but had to ask for the rest. The person forgot my complete order three times. The food was bland. I like that I could add more jerk chicken sauce to my dish, but it tasted like store bought BBQ sauce. The cabbage was cut into strips like collard greens, making them easier to eat (and ideally, easier to absorb flavor from the broth.) However, the cabbage had no flavor. Nor did the rice. My favorite part of the meal was the festival, a dense sweet bread. It tastes like corn bread and a cake doughnut. I would get it again. All in all, it's an affordable lunch special, but between the flavor and customer service, I wouldn't return anytime soon.

Ordered lunch for my honey as a surprise. Steph delivered timely and correctly. Reports are that the food was delicious- well seasoned. Not shown in the pics are the chicken soup & fried plantains also offered. The reason for the 4 rating- you cannot get the restaurant on the phone. The prices are good and so is the food. Packaged carefully to ensure no spillage. Great job!

Jerk chicken is smokey, flavorful to the crisp and a wee on the dry side. Depending on how u like your chicken- moist and soft- this is not. Packed solid with smokiness thrown over some rice and peas and sauce of choice this would be amazing. Peppas has an amazingly spicy and tangy bbq sauce. Also fantastic if you're on keto and you want finger licking delicious no fuss no muss. Oxtail on the savory side and could be cooked to more tenderness- but that's me. I like a fork tender, fall apart, sweet sticky oxtail over rice but I've never met one I didn't like. The Mac a bit softer and drier cheese than I'd prefer- but I don't know what I'm talking about Bc I'm not a fan of Mac and cheese. Settle down, I know I just disqualified myself of any critiquing with that, but I call it like it is or isn't. That 1 plantain though. A whole other level. But why just one???? Buy the whole dam side please.

If you're in Crown Heights, you have an ample amount of Caribbean spots to choose from. Peppa's is one of those options you should choose- especially if on a budget. I'm trini, so I know a good jerk when I taste it. The chicken is moist, flavorful and pepper sauce is on point. I'm a fan and definitely would go back! Plus, it's only $10 for a dinner meal, which comes with 2 sides. Awesome deal! They do have a bathroom and they have some minimal seating too. Definitely give it a try!

On cue, you get da barbe-queee. I love jerk chicken. But the good stuff is hard to come by. Except in crown heights. There's a lot of amazing options. But one of my favs is Peppa's. Why? Delicious. Reasonably Priced. And their hot sauce is delish. I like the Jerk Chicken Platter. Comes with peas and rice two sides. Cabbage, salad, sweet plantains or Mac salad. Mmm Mac salad and plantains ftw. No tings anymore. But I did put in a request. So if you see that on the menu, you're welcome. Haha kidding. But really. Nothing better than an ice cold Ting or Jamaican Kola to complement this beauty.

Jerk Chicken Only, Mac. Gross Sweet Plantains. Pink lemonade.

Very decent jerk chicken spot, but definitely no frills lol Decent in and out pick up or order in dinner. The food has good flavor, specifically the jerk chicken with BBQ sauce. The jerk sauce is incredibly spicy to me so I always skip it. The sides aren't the best. I've personally had MUCH better plantain and cabbage. The plantains are kinda dry and sweet-ish, not soft and decadently sweet. The cabbage is.....different. Not awful, just not what I'm used to when it comes to my Caribbean food spots. The Mac pie is definitely nothing special, I didn't enjoy it and actually barely ate it. The pink lemonade is good just very sweet. Too sweet for me personally and it won't be something I order again. I mean, they are known for their jerk, which definitely is the star of the show soooo...... I feel this rating is justified even with the sides lacking. They also make a BOMB homemade chicken soup. So tasty and well seasoned. I find myself getting double so that I have a delicious lunch to look forward to the next day lol Overall, I highly recommend the jerk chicken w/ BBQ sauce if you can't handle heavy spice and skip the sides and make your own at home if you can.

I really wanted to like the food. Placed an order on Uber eats. Didn't mind the 1.5 hour wait being that they're a little far. Ordered the oxtails with mac and cheese. Mac left a lot to be desired. It was pretty bland. The oxtails were too fatty.

It was sort of an odd time so the spacious restaurant wasn't very busy. We studied the menu for too long and after much deliberation, here's what we ordered, in order of spice level: - Oxtail ($35): Not spicy, super flavorful, "Trimmed and sliced chunks of oxtail seasoned freely with fresh spices and simmered to tender perfection." - Curry goat ($29): Mildly spicy, "Goat meat marinated and cooked in curry spices and herbs makes this an exotic dish." - Jerk chicken ($20): Apparently incredibly spicy so I steered clear of it, "A Jamaican delight. Spicy, delicious chicken baked with this unique combination of spices from the island." The dishes I could handle were excellent, with no drop of sauce left unmopped. On the sides front, the rice and beans, roti, steamed vegetables, and plantains were all tasty. The entree sizes were hearty. Our server seemed like a cool dude: easygoing with a sense of humor. It was kind of chilly in the restaurant, not sure if we were in a warmth dead zone or what. The bathroom was frog-themed which was a cute touch!

For apps, we got the curry crab gyoza which was a very small portion (6/10) and the roasted mushroom truffle flatbread which was the highlight of the meal (8.5/10). For mains, we tried the biang biang Rasta noodles with salmon (6/10) and the sofrino roasted chicken (5/10). Both were a bit underwhelming. I've heard their drinks are great but we didn't try any. A few of the veggies were slightly overcooked, but still flavorful and enjoyable. The drinks looked incredible, but I went with the rum punch and loved it.
