That's simply not true. At no point did anyone tell me that combining the lime and mango flavors would dilute the taste of the tequila. If they had, I would have ordered it differently. The fact is, I couldn't taste any tequila and had to pay for an extra shot just to make it resemble a margarita. Also, if your margaritas are as generous as you claim, then why did the couple sitting right next to me also have to order an extra shot? I watched them order two lime margaritas, and I watched one shot of tequila go into the blender for both drinks. If you believe otherwise, check your security cameras and your sales records. I'm not in the habit of leaving negative reviews, and I certainly don't lie. I order margaritas regularly at many restaurants and have never had this issue before. The exterior of the restaurant looked like an old house, but the interior had beautiful wall murals. The seating was spacious, but a ceiling lamp was too close to my husband's head and made him feel hot. The employees performed their jobs quickly and courteously. The menu listed fajitas, burritos, enchiladas, tacos, desserts, alcoholic beverages, and more. Meat, seafood, and vegetarian options were available. Most foods were Mexican, but I appreciated seeing a few foods from Honduras and El Salvador. My main course was the Shrimp Fajita (4.5 stars), which consisted of nicely cooked shrimps, vegetables, tortillas, rice, and beans. My husband's main course was Carne Asada (3.5 stars), which was a bit dry and tough and he said tasted like lemon but came with his favorite rice and beans. I love to try new Mexican restaurants and I was around the McMurray area so I chose this place randomly. I got the Fajitas Texicanas and shared it with my boyfriend. The flavors on the chicken, steak and shrimp was the perfect amount. I dont cook with salt so it was nice that even with the flavor it wasn't too salty. The rice wasn't my favorite but the beans were pretty good. My boyfriend did get a Margherita too and it had a good flavor. The classic was good and had a hit of orange in it. The server was very friendly and the food came out very quickly. The restaurant itself is kind of off a side road and not right off of route 19 but it was still easy to find and it was cute and quaint with plenty of parking and the inside was cute too. read more

The bar sucks so bad here. A Mexican restaurant that has a total of 3 margaritas on the menu. ALL use the ABSOLUTE cheapest ingredients. Their grand gold margarita says it's maid with Hornitos Repo but it's made with cheap gold coloring tequila. The sour mix of choice is the cheapest you can buy. They charge $20 for one. I hen you question them on why they substitute the ingredients the staff replies " That's the way we were taught to do it." Slightly disappointing experience with this place. After trying the amazing 5 Star Honduras, I wanted to try more of that cuisine and thus ordered from this place. I got their pupusas and bunuelos. The pupusas were pretty good. The portion was okay for the price. They served it in a takeout box with lettuce at the bottom, which did make it more soggy. I like that they included beans and cheese; it was creamy and very flavorful. The top and bottom was kind of falling apart though. Still, it was good Flavor wise. The bunuelos were quite disappointing, though. They remind me of a sweet Brazilian cheese bread. But, here, they were quite stale and almost rock hard. They served it with seemingly store bought Hershey syrup type of sauce which I didn't really like. They were okay but I wouldn't get them again. Blown away! Excellent food, really great service. This is my new go to for Peters/McMurray/Canonsburg area. Location is a bit unconventional, almost appears to be an addition to a residential home. The restaurant is new, so it is very modern and clean. The food and drink prices were both comparable (very affordable) to other restaurants nearby, but the quality really is what blew us away. My mom ordered the chicken chimichanga, and I ordered the vegetarian platter. My entree was fantastic, and unlike other restaurants who consider a bean burrito sufficient vegetarian food - this place even threw in a chili relleno, which was my favorite part! I have been to La Calera many times. Upon entering the restaurant you are greeted by friendly employees. The food portions are great, and always delivered to your table hot. I have tried several dishes and have never been disappointed. The frozen margaritas are delicious. The owners are wonderful people. I've now had about 6 meals from La Calera and it's fine. It's not on the same level as Totopo (Mt. Lebanon) or Holy Tequila (HHI), but it's at least a shade better than El Campesino. Their quesadillas are good (but not great) and their dips are pretty good (not great). I do bristle when we are charged $5 for guacamole and we get this tiny container that serves 1 1/2 people. Not a great value guys. When La Calera took over the spot long occupied by Candle Keller earlier this year I was rooting for them. Part of it is me, longtime Peters Twp resident, wanting to see new restaurants do well. And part of it is me being a sucker for Mexican cuisine. Truth be told, I STILL want this place to be successful. But, they need to be better than this. read more

The vibes in the restaurant were great they had music and sports game on all around the restaurant as well. They took my order, then the food came out quickly despite it being packed.
