Hi everyone and I truly hope that you are having a great time in Naples, Italy! Congrats on making it here and also for looking for some great places to eat as well! So this little gem was recommended to us by Raffaelle who was our tour guide at Pompeii and Herculaneum, which was an awesome experience but that is a story for another review. So after getting back to our hotel and freshening up from the days archeological explorations, we went out for a walk and strolled on over to La Cantina dei Lazzarri. Happy to report that in typical Italian fashion dining inside and "Al Fresco" were available. We decided to hang with the locals and do some people watching while we had our wine so we dined outside. Service was excellent and we were seated just a few minutes after we arrived. The owners and their staff took excellent care of us and I have to say they did a great job. Took our time to find out about any dietary restrictions and then prepared our meal taking those in to account. I thought that was awesome and also extremely courteous of them to do so as well. Ambiance was excellent as well. I mean how cool is dining "Al Fresco" in Naples, Italy right! The restaurant is very intimate and nicely decorated but hey the food is where the rubber hits the road and I have to say that the quality of the food was excellent. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. To start things off we ordered their Grilled Octopus appetizer which was very tasty and perfectly cooked. I decided to also have a first course which consisted of the home made pasta with shrimp and basil. Very typical for Italians to have multiple courses as having dinner can be a lengthy social experience. So in this case when in Naples.... lol! Heading in to our second courses we ordered the home made Prosciutto Ravioli with Mushrooms and Basil and the Grilled Sea Bass with Roasted Potatoes. It seems to me that they really specialize in great seafood but not to worry they have plenty of other options for us carnivores as well. We just happened to be in a seafood mood this evening. Paired with all of this delicious food was an excellent local white Italian wine that completed the entire dining experience. For dessert I kept things light and tried the sorbet and cappuccinos were also on the agenda. The owners also surprised us with some home made Lemoncello which was literally the icing on the cake! Wow, I have to say that we really had a wonderful time and again what really set this place apart was the owners and staffs desire to really personalize the experience for us. Not to say other places don't do that as well but of all the places we visited on this trip to Naples, Italy they happened to be the only ones who asked. So if you find yourself on the hunt for a great restaurant in Naples, Italy that really provides great customer service and quality food, La Cantina dei Lazarri should give you that and more. The food is great here and the owner gave us a lemoncello shot at the end of our meal. The steak is really good but comes out quite rare. The bruschetta is excellent. The service was very European. The inside and the outside seating is great. read more

This place was absolutely delicious! Definitely a highlight dinner from our time in Italy so far. The wine we started off with was excellent (so excellent that we decided to get another bottle) and we started off with some starters. We shared the cheese plate which was so good, the blue cheese was some of the best I've ever had. I had the scallop dinner that came with a pistachio sauce which was small but so good. The scallops were cooked to perfection and wrapped in bacon. I sampled the tuna steak and lobster pasta as well, everything was delicious. For dessert we shared the tiramisu and panna cotta, both light and tasty. The servers here were so friendly and nice. I would highly recommend this restaurant for an excellent Italian meal. read more

We started by ordering the mixed seafood platter (Lazzari seafood for two). This was delicious - grilled octopus, fried calamari and shrimp, white fish (cold), smoked salmon, and clams and mussels, all excellent. Their gnocchi with clams and mussels was delicious as well. The owner also brought us an amazing tuna steak on the house. And their connoli is to die for. It was broken up cannoli and served with brandy. Now for the negatives/ - Their Bruschetta with vegetables and tomato was just okay. - We has ordered a bottle of rose for 18 Euros. The server told us that the bottle wasn't available but brought us another bottle, instead. He didn't mention however that the new bottle was almost 50 Euros! Where to start? We have been there several times. Especially for my mom's Birthday. The place is cozy ant intimate, perfect to celebrate events with your dear ones. The staff is professional and welcoming. The food is an amazing reinvention of the best of Neapolitan classics in a fusion style with the most modern experimentation. So I've passed La Cantina dei Lazzari plenty of times, but never been in while living/working in Naples. It's a little bit off the touristy area and so that made it nice because the price was actually fair. I had the filet with truffle, but at the time they didn't have the truffle and so they substituted it for something else. A little disappointed was I with the truffles, but the service was good. I was there on 14 August 2015 at 13:00Hrs with 3 guests including myself. The guy that served us was super friendly and we enjoyed his presence. read more

We had a lovely lunch here. Our family is 4 adults and a 4 yo boy. He needed some refuge from the sun and heat. They welcomed us and we sat outside on the patio. The food was fresh, delish and wonderfully prepared and served. The wine list is very good. Found this unassuming restaurant right around the corner from our hotel. The staff ws extremely welcoming and did everything they could to make us feel relaxed and welcomed. The manager sent some prosecco to get us started. Appetizers of mozzarella and grilled vegetables and tuna tartare were first rate. Our favorite of the night was home made fusilli with a basil/lemon sauce. I practically licked my plate clean! Grilled octopus and amberjack were perfectly prepared in a light and tasty manner Finished with first rate tiramisu. Local wine (Aglianico) was superb and a bargain. All in all, a delightful dinner. My husband and I dined here on our last night in Naples. Service was quick but somewhat unfriendly. We arrived at 7:15 on a Saturday night without a reservation. Even though there were plenty of tables available the waiter wanted to make sure we knew that arriving without a reservation was unacceptable. The menu is not organized like the typical Italian menu ( primo, secondo, etc) so it was a little confusing as most of the dishes were appetizers. We started with the risotto with Gorgonzola; the risotto needed about 60 seconds more cook time as is was hard in the center. A friendlier waiter would have gone a long way to helping us enjoy this final dining experience in Italy. read more
