Found this restaurant on our walk away from the Sagrada Familia. It was less than 5 minutes away and had only a few people inside. This worried us a little, but we wanted to rest a little and we were really hungry! I'm happy we stayed because the food was really good . I had the cochinita pibil which was a pulled pork dish with beans and soft tacos. It really hit the spot. Didn't feel too heavy and was just the right amount of food after all the walking we did. My friend ordered the pollo con mole and while I didn't have any of hers, she couldn't stop gushing about how good the mole sauce was and how good the chicken was seasoned. She was apprehensive about the meal at first, but cleaned her plate in the end. Otherwise, service was good. The restaurant became pretty full by the time we ordered and while it seemed like there was only one server, her was pretty attentive to our needs. Would recommend this restaurant! read more

I have to admit, I do not like Spanish food (food from Spain) so my boyfriend and I would try to find other types of food to each. We found it a bit difficult to find non Spanish food, so that's where Yelp came to the rescue. At the time we were at Sagrada Familia and used the nearby feature and found that this Mexican restaurant was close by. We were excited because it had great reviews and we both love Mexican food. When we went in, it wasn't too busy, there was only one or two other tables so we were immediately seated. The staff was friendly enough; they weren't overly attentive but they also didn't ignore us the whole time we were there. For apps we ordered the Nachos, which if you can see from the picture, was so good and definitely recommend it. If it's on the menu, I will always order Cochinita Pibil, and I was excited that they had it here. I ordered it and it did not disappoint. Would also recommend that if you do not know what to get, order the Cochinita Pibil! I ordered the guacamole as an appetizer and it was the best guacamole I've ever tasted! It was smooth and kind of creamy with an awesome taste. I loved it and would definitely go back again for the guacamole. For the entrée, I ordered the chicken enchiladas. The dish comes with a delicious side of refried beans, but their enchiladas tasted exactly like the kind I make at home. Which are really good and cheap to make, but I never really considered my enchiladas to be authentic. So I'm not sure if I should be proud of myself or what, but the overall the place is good. What can I say? Yes, we were in Spain and had a massive craving for some Mexican food. I guess we were seeking comforts from home, being far away from home. Atmosphere was lively and laid back with good music and a fun and young Spanish crowd. Our appetizer, the rajas con queso, was really good. The mix of juicy meat, melted cheese, the vegetables and the spicy addition of the sauces made this a highlight of my vacation so far. Camilla ordered the Volcanes. Another trendy approach to the many flavors of Mexico. Her dish was assembled by three taco shells, sinderloin beef, cheese and avocado. As i met her eyes and she met mine as we both pushed our main courses into our mouths was... divine. Emotions i had never experienced suddenly filled me up like water in a glass. I just don't think that the portion or quality was worth the price point. Side note: two women sitting next to me ate barely half their plates, were disgusted (from the sound of it and a few recognizable words on my part-- I don't speak Catalan Spanish). The server was fairly young and took forever to come over and take our drinks , he kept checking his phone rather then customers .... it's a shame because the margaritas were better then other places around I would have easily spend $50 euros alone on drinks. I found this place on yelp and saw the great reviews. We show up and we tell them we are a group of four. They ask us if we have a reservation. Oops we don't but we see that there's tables available and are hoping to be seated. They tell us that they are waiting on patrons and to come back around 10:30. Mind you it's 9:00 p.m. we decide to leave. We walked around and stumbled back to the Cantina around 10:00 and noticed that the tables that were empty were still empty. Such bad service. I would of been appreciated to be told to wait a few minutes and I'd no one shows up we could have a table. But we're told to come back an hour and half later. I was looking forward to trying this place out. So if you want to give this place a try have a reservation apparently it's what needed to get seated even though there's tables empty. read more

Food is not bad but with a city full of amazing Mexican food there are way better options for far less money. Way overpriced for what it is. My guess is the prices reflect the location being that it is only a block away from Sagrada Familia. So my advice, get away from that area and eat in a neighborhood that doesn't charge tourist prices. read more

I came here for a friend's birthday with another 10 people this Saturday and the experience was extremely unpleasant. The waiter got the order wrong 3 times when one of my friends asked for vegetarian dish and the other two friends asked for tacos with no cheese because they are lactose intolerance. I didn't get my tacos (which shouldn't be THAT DIFFICULT to make) until when everyone was almost finished with their food. I asked the waitress if I could cancel the order if they hadn't start making it so I wouldn't be the only one eating at the end, she GAVE ME AN ATTITUDE by saying no and walked away without apologizing for the delay at all.
