Happily surprised. I've lived in California all my life and I was really pumped at how good this place was. Yea the Margarita's we got were a little on the light side, but the food was on point! Me and my girlfriend recently went here on a whim. We got here right when they opened so service was pretty fast. I enjoyed the decor all around too. One minute there is a mural of Frida Khalo and the next there randomly is Speedy Gonzalez. I love it. Wonderful Quesadillas! The chicken was grilled really well and the quesadillas themselves were perfectly cheesy. My favorite was the Flauta's though. They were crunchy, cheesy, saucey...they were a lot of things. They weren't overly spicy because you had a dollop of sour cream to cool ya down if needed. But I highly recommend this place. read more

This is the absolute best Mexican food in all of Barcelona! Like, wow! I've been let down so much by other places, so I didn't know what to expect, but this blew me away. Inside is colorful and cutely decorated. You're instantly put in a better mood. The food here is bomb. Not bland at all. Each bite you take will be bursting with flavor! The heat and spices are a nice change from just blah only salt. I went to a steakhouse not long ago and the fajitas they had there were bland and chewy. Almost beef jerky like. Here, though, the fajitas were juicy and tender. The rice had a little kick, the beans were seasoned perfectly, the cheese...oh, the cheeeeeese! So beautiful. Flew into Barcelona and came here as my first stop before checking into my hotel nearby. I had a wonderful experience here, coming from Portland OR, we don't get as great Spanish/Mexican food as here. Breakdown of what we ordered here: 1. Chicken burrito: recommend if you're hungry and want some solid food 2. Chicken tacos : Solid tacos, not the best in the area but pretty filling come with side of beans and rice 3. Chicken wings: by far my favorite here. Flavored really well, extremely tender, and the only thing that's kind of spicy. Overall a great time eating, especially being my first stop, but it was just under my spice level expectations even with the spicy salsa. If you're a spicy eater, it won't meet that standard but there is a lot of flavor to enjoy. read more

Still some work to do to get the 5th star. Mostly, take down the heat a smidge and amplify the flavor. I think that the introduction of peppers, onions, tomatoes, and garlic would impact their plate. As well, perhaps the cheese being more of a sauce rather than a plopping of melted cheese would help. And finally investment into some salsa spices and seasonings with an introduction of cilantro would put this place on the map. Great service and space means that it has tons of potential. But anyone looking for Mexico here will find it mostly in the music. read more

I don't post many reviews, but this place was THAT amazing I had to. I wanted to find a mexican restaurant similar to those in american but with (hopefully) more flavor and this place delivered! Amazing flavor. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Burrito and my friend ordered the Chicken Fajitas; both exceeded our expectations. Having been to Mexico numerous times and living near a huge Mexican area in Detroit,I have to say this place could rival any of the other ones. Shared verde chicken enchiladas and a chili dish that came with 4 tortillas. Chili was amongst the best I have ever had ! Enchiladas were very good also and were served with rice and beans. Not having any plans to eat anything at the moment we passed by La Hacienda and decided to have dinner here. We weren't disappointed as everything has been real authentic. The paintings on the wall of famous mexicans, the food as well as the drinks. We have ordered the Chicken Fingers (dedos de pollo), Quesadilla con Pollo as well as a Burrito Mixto (mixed chicken, steak and greens). The food came out quick and as stated above it was authentic and very very delicious. The steak and chicken had such a good flavour that we have decided to come back tomorrow. Have only eaten here once, and we had a good experience. Multiple trips would cement a 3, 4, or 5 rating; I just haven't tried enough of the food. We were really excited to find this Mexican food.... in Spain.... especially since Mexican food in Germany is mostly garbage and we haven't had decent Mexican in at least a year and a half. This place had a great Mexican restaurant feel to it, they had all the (required) imported Mexican beers, and the service was quick and friendly. The kids went with a basic cheese quesadilla - 2 were plenty for the three of them. They looked like they were perfectly done, but a cheese quesadilla is no test of Mexican cooking. The wife went with chicken fajitas...... which is basically the exact same thing she's ordered at every Mexican restaurant we've ever been to. So she's kind of an expert on that, and she loved these at La Hacienda. Her only negative comment was on the lack of refried beans - which apparently are necessary with fajitas. I had the flautas, which were very nicely done and came out with some spicy (it's Europe, so not that spicy) sauces. I can't complain about any of what we had. Not the best Mexican food we've ever had, BUT it was very good, very filling, and very friendly. We may very well hit this place a second time this trip; will definitely be back next time we're in Barcelona. And hopefully I'll be able to give them 5 stars then. read more

We have lived in Germany for about 15 months. Being from a Mexican-American family, it's been difficult to find good Mexican food. This has been the best we have tried during our European travels! We had the chorizo nachos, botana mix appetizer, chicken enchiladas, chicken tacos, chicken burrito, and tacos arrachera. Everything was great!!! We started with an appetizer of nachos con guacamole and I had the terms burrito. The nachos con guacamole were excellent with a generous portion size. The ternera burrito was big and served with a spicy sauce and dollop of sour cream on the side. The burrito is wonderful on its own or with some of the spicy sauce mixed on every bite. Great place with great atmosphere, Latin American tunes and at a very fair price. If you are getting tired of tapas, try this, you won't leave hungry! read more

We came during lunch and it wasnt very crowded which was nice because we got our food served to us fast. The sangria was good and the waitress even put the fruit in our glasses. Food was ready very quickly and was delicious. I think it was a bit pricier for the amount of food I got (8 euros for 3 tacos) but it was still great!
