Between the burger the bun the tomato and the onion was hard to get your mouth around but it wasn't really worth it to stretch your mouth that far. You had a choice of fries or salad and I chose the fries. In all honesty I've been in Cape May for a week now and have eaten out nearly every day and had some outstanding fries and I would swear these were yesterday's fries if not yesterday's fries from somebody else's plate. I asked the bartender if these were the normal presentation of the fries she said "oh yes they're hand cut fries" my question would be hand cut when and fried when? They were overdone and mushy. . And after exchange the bartender adopted a pissy attitude. Here's my thing to the managers/owners of this establishment: I have worked in various forms in hospitality and customer service. I'm also an older person, consumer, frequent visitor of restaurants and bars. Take this however you will. It's a Tuesday afternoon... The servers and the service and the food should be exactly the fucking same as it is on Friday and Saturday night. Feel free to contact me if I said anything out of line. Indoor table seating is pretty tight but they also have a nice patio and a bar area. We shared the shrimp from the raw menu (though it was cooked) both nights. Giant 1lb plate; not too hard to peel yourself. My wife really liked the crab cakes. They were very rich and came with a wonderful cooked vegetable medley side. I tried the shrimp gumbo bowl with a tomato sauce over rice. It was fine though a little more plain and the rice was a bit hard. My stepdad tried the reuben (giant) with an appetizer of potato leek soup (pretty creamy). He gave both a thumbs up. The kids' chicken tender platter was also huge. The tenders had a nice seasoning and were very thick. Tons of fries. My daughter tried the turkey sandwich one night; it came with a solid 3/4lb of deli turkey, so leftovers for like two days.

Cocktails were pure alcohol and tasted nothing like the description on the menu or remotely like how they're typically made. The drinks were left untouched after 1-2 small sips and the server didn't question it at all. Also found it very odd how they have separate drink menus for dining in and the outdoor bar - so if you didn't walk up to the signs near the outdoor bar, you wouldn't know about the other drink options. Once entrees were served, we didn't even take a bite yet and the server came by mere seconds later to ask how the food was in order to "check the box" and didn't return again until we flagged her down to request the check at the end. The entree portions were small and of note, the clam pasta came with the tiniest clams (about the size of a dime/penny) and no salt or seasoning. The service and kitchen need some work, wouldn't recommend.

Our waitress also seemed to avoid our table while we were waiting for an update. After another 25 minutes, we finally asked to cancel the sushi. The manager then came over and told us our order had actually been delivered to the wrong table. She then joked that she "hoped they were allergic to it," which was an incredibly strange and inappropriate comment to make. Nothing was offered or comped to make up for the situation, and two people in our party ultimately left without ever receiving their entrees. What should have been a simple dinner turned into a two-and-a-half-hour ordeal. Between the hour-long wait, uncomfortable seating, extremely loud music, forgotten food, lack of communication, and the way the situation was handled, we unfortunately won't be returning.
