Probably the most disgusting food I've ever had. Maui tacos were fishy and flavorless. I spit out the bite of my wife's chicken tacos. While it was cooked it smelled like raw chicken. It's a shame because the Icona Resort is one of the most beautiful places on the east coast. Been coming here for years but because it is corporate owned they charge a fortune for everything and cut corners everywhere they can. Food took over a half hour and we were the only people sitting down. It's very convenient if you're on the beach and want food that's how they get away with it but I would recommend walking to the tiki hut beach grill or the diamond beach club. Food is much better. The tacos only come with two tacos not three. The unsweetened Iced tea tasted like chalk like they never changed the fountain canister and it was sitting too long. I want to vomit. read more

Waited 20 min for the appetizer. What did we get? A very small portion of fried calamari and I mean SMALL. We then received our food. Wife had chicken that was thick and looked like the color grey and I had the Fish tacos. I could barely find the fish the pieces were so small. And finally, we sat outside overlooking a pool? This is one of my family's favorite spots down the shore! Ther servers are always friendly and the service is pretty quick, especially for how crowded it can get! They also have a bucket upgrade option on any signature cocktail for $9 more. It is the equivalent of about 2 1/2 to 3 drinks, so it ends up being a good deal! Their strawberry margarita is my favorite! In terms of food, I love the crab fries with cheese sauce! The boneless buffalo wings are a great app as well. Pro tip: get the kid's chicken fingers! It comes with 4 tenders that are so tasty and it's a great deal. They usually have live music and many of the tables are right in the sand. The palm trees and setup of the bar make it feel like you are in florida or on a tropical island somewhere. It is definitely a must visit if you are staying in this area! The one negative is a lot of times you have to ask for the tables to be wiped down. I think they need some more bussers since the servers get really busy. WOW. Just don't. Even if you think the reviews can't be right and you'll go for the atmosphere, don't do it. That's what I thought. We went for Happy Hour last week. We sat at a wobbly table (although it was in the sand!) and ordered drinks and appetizers. The Frose wasn't really frozen and my wine was just not very good. We ordered chicken wings, chips and guacamole and french fries. The wings weren't fully cooked and the fries were old and floppy. PLUS they were brought to us in TO GO containers. What? The best reason to come to this bar is the atmosphere. It's a great place to sit and have a drink with your feet in the sand, and the live music is usually very nice. However, the food menu here has been getting progressively worse over the years. It's a small menu that seems to get smaller. Last weekend, we ordered the boneless wings and a chicken Caesar wrap. After we had ordered and waited a while, we were told the wrap was unavailable and we ordered seashore fries instead. The wings came out and were barely tossed in sauce- they weren't even completely covered. The fries came with the old bay and the cheese sauce on the side. If I go to a restaurant and order food that comes with seasoning, I usually don't expect to have to season the food myself. Another very important note is that our waitress did not wear her mask. The entire time we were there, she had it around her chin and never covered her mouth or nose once, even when she leaned in close to us to take our orders. read more

I am so FLOORED RIGHT NOW. My boyfriend and I bought a $20 day pass to be able to hang out at the beach since it's a lot less crowded. So we decide to get a refill on drinks and upgraded to buckets and decide to get an order of Buffalo wings. So we grabbed a table and was having a nice time waiting. So we're sitting here for 30 minutes and still no food and absolutely no one has come up to ask us how we were doing. So my bf goes up and asks how long it'll be and the manager looking guy says "this ain't no McDonald's drive thru." Seriously bro?! That was uncalled for and very unprofessional. We're like cool it's fine we just wanted to make sure our order was in. But after 45 minutes I turn around and notice that EVERYONE behind has that we're seated after us had all already gotten their food! ... THEN!!! Then!!!!! This waitress walks RIGHT PAST me and asks the other 2 tables if they needed anything. And she walked past me another 3 times! There were at least 4 servers standing around chitchatting one eating & not helping customers. After an hour we finally got the wings which weren't bad but definitely not worth the wait! The drinks were decent but very watered down. I am very disappointed with the way we were treated and do not recommend this place to anyone. Pleasant upscale beach front bar ... open to the public ... an extension of the new Icona hotel on Diamond Beach -- with live music. Cushioned seating areas for hanging out -- and even dining on a limited but what looked like an appetizing lunch menu (we did not stay for food). Cocktails are honest and they carry some nice local brews. Check in on Yelp and get a signature cocktail for $5. With this place less than a city block away from The (members only) Club next door, no wonder Bungalow No. 7 seemed to be hopping most all the time, most every day we were there. read more

Local here. I can no longer recommend this location to our visitors. The throwaway customer attitude doesn't quite work so much for us locals. It used to be a fun place. The food was always slow, even during my many dates in 2020. HOWEVER -- after waiting over 50 minutes for wings in June 2021, I was rudely told it was not McDonalds. They have their great location on the beach on their side. Our server messed up our recipe more than once and when we asked for old bay boardwalk fries, they took forever and were cold and over seasoned. The server even apologized for how they were served. It was a bit concerning, seeing as nothing is of actual reasonable price here. I'd recommend coming for one drink just to enjoy the sunset, but don't stay too long. It just doesn't get better than this. If there's one thing I've learned about vacationing in the Wildwoods every summer for over 37 years, it's that change is not typically received well down here. I can sadly recall watching so many of the classic doo-wop motels being razed in the 90s to make way for cheaply constructed, sad-looking condos before the township finally stepped in to preserve what was left. Even just recently, people have been up in arms because the Tram Cars got a makeover with a "new and improved" motor coach. No way, people. Leave our Wildwoods alone. Don't change a thing. Ever. Cast everything in amber for all eternity. But there is a caveat to this. And it's all exemplified in the magnificent, balls-to-the-wall makeover of the old Pier 6600 property, now known fondly as the Icona Diamond Beach Resort. The bold vision these investors had, and the risks they were willing to take to execute it, is just mindblowing to me -- especially in a town that historically sees all of its modest revenue generated in just the few short weeks between Independence Day and Labor Day. What could possibly go wrong, besides, well, everything? Yet instead, everything went right. So right. And their addition of the Bungalow No. 7 Beach Bar this year is just the latest and greatest thing they have managed to pull off, officially turning Diamond Beach into Jersey's own version of South Beach. (But without all the annoying Miamiers.) By purchasing not just the old hotel property, but the rights to create a private beach stretching out to the ocean, the folks at Icona can legitimately refer to themselves as a resort. In addition to chair and umbrella service at the ocean's edge, beachgoers can now also belly up to the new beach bar, or sit at any one of the comfy outdoor couches and club chairs spread across the huge sandy patio area. Misting fans and sun shades are all strategically placed to ensure drinks stay cold and to keep people from bursting into flames under the hot Jersey Shore sun. Hungry? The beach bar offers the perfect array of simple salads, burgers, and sandwiches, all prepared to order, and made from better and fresher ingredients than most other places you'll find on the island. Don't be fooled by the fact that it's technically a bar. Bungalow 7 is one of the most family-friendly places you could possibly find, catering to kids and adults alike. All in, we had three families and at least seven kids running around, playing in the sand, eating chicken fingers and french fries, as the adults all kicked back with seemingly bottomless rumrunners for hours on end. Bungalow 7 even has some games on hand for the kids to play, as well as an evening campfire, complete with everything you need to roast marshmallows under the clear, starry skies. It's just a wonderful place to be at any hour of the day or night. The service here is impeccable, just as it is at their hotel, the Icona, and their restaurant, Coastal Blue. This is a great gig for anyone looking to make some money, so they seem to have no problem finding servers and bartenders who clearly have some experience in the service industry. This is a big deal in a town where most of the help is hired just for the season and turnover is likely high. I've been saying for some time that the Wildwoods have been on a real soaring uptick as of late. All of the kids of the blue collar parents who took their families here back in the 70s and 80s now have families of their own and love Wildwood even more than their parents did. We also have a lot more money to spend than they did. This infusion of capital has allowed businesses to invest in themselves more than ever, yet still manage to maintain the charm and history of the island we all fell in love with as kids. And there is no better example of this phenomena than what's happening here at the Icona Diamond Beach Resort. So when it comes to change, all change may be disruptive, but not all change is bad -- even in a town where people have shown a rabid vengeance toward change of any kind. I can't wish these guys enough luck and success. This could very well be the start of a trend toward turning a stubbornly seasonal area into a year-round destination for couples and families alike. GREAT HAPPY HOUR!! After a beautiful day on Diamond beach relax on an outdoor sofa with a drink. If you prefer sitting at the bar you can do that too. This outdoor bar is so relaxing and fun. We had mixed drinks and checked it thru yelp to receive our discount on our bar bill. This place is right on the ocean front. We walked down the beach to get there which was great we didn't have to drive home after. The bartenders are very friendly, mixed drinks are great. Beware though the men's bathrooms, per my husband and brother in law was a bit stinky, but the woman's bathroom was rather nice. read more

This place was about as alive as an expired clam. Staff was ok no energy. I ordered chicken tenders and a "misunderstood pineapple" drink. I don't know what was worse the drink or the food. Whats absolutely embarrassing is the sauce you get with your food. Choices are ketchup, ketchup or ketchup. Can't say I enjoyed dipping my "baby poo textured chicken" in some good ol' heinz packet ketchup. The watered down drink for 14 bucks didn't help either what a rip off never again. read more

I don't think I've been so disappointed from a restaurant than my experience at The Star Beach Bar. While the scenery and atmosphere was beautiful and vacation-like, the food was a big let down and completely over priced. The "beach burgers" we ordered were overcooked and dry, and the avocado we asked on the side was so unripe we couldn't cut into it. The "beach bowl" contained three ingredients: mixed greens, quinoa, and the ahi tuna (that I selected as the protein). Extremely bland, lacked flavor, and was simply a bad meal. And on top of this, my group of five paid $141....we all had our jaws dropped when we saw the receipt. Extremely disappointing and we will not be coming back here again. The setting and ambience of the cabanas at the star bar were incredible. The feeling I got was the same that I have experienced at any other resort I have been to with far less travel involved. Love this place! For years I've been going to the Club at Diamond Beach because it was the closest to our condo. However, this year we tried to go to the CDB only to find it closed at 10 pm! My aunt then suggested this bar, which wasn't too far of a walk (both on the beach or on the street). When we got there I was pleasantly surprised. The decor was awesome (especially with the lighting they used), and in addition to the bar, they have a dance area and lounge area, so you can go there no matter what mood you're in. The servers were all great! They all had very positive attitudes and were all super helpful! We were celebrating a 21st birthday in a large group and ordered 15+ rum buckets at last call. Not only did they not make us feel like a burden, but they even made us laugh as they were preparing them. All of this coupled with the fact that they close at 12 am has ensured we will go here instead of CDB. read more

They thought one person we were with was underage ( which they weren't) however instead of coming over to ID. They pointed and yelled across the entire area so all eyes were turned to us.
