They just want your money regardless of the shitty service they provide. After every time I assume it's an individual issue, and maybe I got the wrong guy or at the wrong time, and still give them my business, I regret it the following time when they prove me wrong. One of my bikes was stolen, and I went with my receipt to get the serial number for the police report and I was made fun off ! If you don't believe me, read all the other reviews that confirm the same issues about how they treat their customers. Another occasion I went to upgrade my handlebar, and the sales man was so condescending to explain the difference in sizes, and was so impatient. I bought 3 bikes from them, worth more than $15,000 plus more accessories, but I don't wish to ever go there again even if they were the last shop on earth.

There's intangibles that this boutique shop brings that let you know the work and care that Martin and David put into running this shop. From the handwritten price tags to the displays of bells, handlebars, pedals, saddles, racks and panniers, cogs, cranks, hubs and lights, and even a panel of bar ends the attention to detail and displays show that it is a collective effort of people who care about the customer and making a shop that is as well dressed as the things they sell. Another item of note, the care they take with the work they do. While I get that much bike repair involves tools in tight spaces and using a lot of torque, but as someone who takes very careful care of their bike, I appreciate when I get my bike back from repair free of dings, scratches and gouges. Although I don't think any damage is ever deliberate, I think the extra care being taken is. This has now become my favorite bike store. Parts, service, getting what you need either in stock or by special order, there isn't much I feel is out of reach here. Worth the trip!

Hoopdriver Bicycles is my neighbourhood bike shop. I've gotten a couple of things done there…read more First, I had new chains put on my bike. Recently, I had my front quick-release wheel stolen and gotten it replaced at the Hoopdriver. The owner of the shop is great. He isn't overly-friendly, which I like. He is soft-spoken and gets down to business. I think he pays close attention to the bikes he works on, which I, as a customer, expect and appreciate. The Hoopdriver's prices are a bit steeper, but I'm willing to pay a bit extra for my neighbourhood bike shop to stay open. They also seem to be queer-friendly at the shop, which is important to me. The Hoopdriver is also next door to The Common. So you can grab a coffee while you wait for your bike to be fixed/checked up!

He is a very friendly and experienced bike mechanic who certainly loves what he does. He not only fixed my flat tire, but decided to teach me how to do it myself. Like some hipster places intend to do but have failed on me when I needed them (Bike Pirates I am talking to you). I had a great private class on tire and brakes maintenance. It was great, my bike is new again, I am happy, and I am certainly coming back - but not for tires, rest assured. BTW, don't forget to ask him or his brother about their favourite real mexican spots. However, I purchased a very old (but very pretty) city bike from him for $125 that was supposedly just tuned up, but still in pretty rough shape. It seemed to ride well when I took it for a test drive around the block, but it's a 3-speed and does not go uphill very well at all. I actually have to get off the bike and walk it uphill. The brakes also make a huge screeching sound going downhill, so I constantly terrify everyone walking/driving around me. It's pretty embarassing. I'd still recommend the store for tuneups/service; but I'd avoid the collection of used bikes sitting outside.

I love this place. Had a battery replacement on my EM1 in spring of 2019. They did a great job with…read moremy repair. Biked worked better than new. Only took 2 days. Estimate was the cost. It was perfect. While there I eyeballed the SuperSoco TS1200R. Loved the bike so much, I came back and bought it 3 months later. Sold my EM1. I've been using my Soco now for 4 years. Never had a single issue. Drove the bike all over Southern Ontario. I made sure to have yearly brake tune ups. In the summer of 2022, my SuperSoco was stolen. Heart breaking to say the least. Within 2 weeks, and with a great deal of effort. I was able to find my stolen bike and get it back. The bike had been decimated. The electronics were destroyed. Batteries stolen. Battery tank destroyed. I was crushed. I called Yuri and he immediately got my bike towed from the location it was dumped at to his shop. He did this within a few hours. In the nighttime. On a Friday night. And it only cost me $100.00 . Tow companies were telling me a day or 2 wait and $300.00. Yuri was able to source out all the necessary parts and completely rebuild my SuperSoco to a brand new condition. It was incredible how quickly he acted and how he seemed to take this as a personal thing to himself. Yuri ordered me a new battery. I was even in contact with the suppliers in BC personally and they spoke highly of Yuri. My SuperSoco is still easily one of the best purchases I have ever made. Working with Yuri has been a pleasure. I'm so glad I became his client. I am constantly recommending EP Rider to anyone who talks to me about any kind of electric or pedal assist bike. I also like that Yuri is quick to give all the credit of the quality repair to his head mechanic Phillipe. Every visit I make to the shop, I enjoy shooting the breeze with Phillipe and hear the crazy stories he has to share about the ebike world he operates in. I know this man knows his business.
