This place made me so happy. Probably the best tacos I've had in a long time... and on this side of town?! You seriously can't beat it! The food was SO good that I'd honestly have them cater one of my events. Real, authentic Mexican food. I've had tacos all over Tucson, especially on the south side, and from many different parts of Mexico. These were absolutely delicious. I'm honestly shocked by all the bad reviews. Yes, I noticed they're a little more expensive, but if that means they can make a decent living while serving food this good, I'll gladly pay it every time. 1. They were not welcoming. It was our first time there, we took a moment looking at the menu the lady that attended us looked annoyed that we couln't make our mind deciding what to eat. She never recommended us anything. The cook was looking at us like hurry up. When I asked what do you guys have for drinks she pointed at the fridge and said look there. I left 15% tip because of course now days you pay a tip before you even get your food. She didn't say thank you or anything. 2. The food tastes really good. But too expensive for what it is. The percheron burro was filled with tomatoe and onion and very little meat. For a $16-18 burro I prefer for them to charge $20 but put meat on it. Hotdog's bun amazing but the weenie/sausage was too skinny could barely taste it. Overall bad experience on the service. Good tasting food but lacks protein on both of the items we ordered for the price. It was $42 dollars for 2 hotdogs a burro and two sodas. I was hoping for a better experience since its a nice clean spot. But left very dissapointed. read more

The staff here were extremely rude, which is disappointing because if you're going to run a business, at least provide decent customer service. On top of that, the food was overpriced. I wouldn't have minded paying if the quality matched, but it didn't. We ordered two hot dogs and a burro percherón; the hot dogs had decent flavor but so small that you tasted mostly bread, and the burro was basically just a tortilla with tomato, onion, a little avocado, and barely any meat. I don't usually leave reviews, but in this case I felt compelled to, mainly because of the owners' attitude, if you're charging so much for hot dogs and burros, the least you can do is treat your customers with kindness. read more

Great food truck right off the I-10 in Marana. we heard about this place off the Discover Marana facebook page. we are glad to have found it. food is delicious. we ordered the carne asada fries and 2 sonoran hot dogs. the cook is very friendly and helpful when it comes to picky eaters wanting things made differently. there is ample parking and 7 tables with chairs in shade to sit at. there is also a condiment bar. it was about $32 for 2 mexican sodas, 2 sonoran hot dogs and carne asada fries. the portion of the fries was very large and we could have been full just eating that. amazing experience and we will be returning! read more

Wow. This was fantastic. I had a Sonoran dog and my companion had one, but with added chorizo. And we each had the bacon and cheese filled chili pepper on the side. We've been here in Tucson for almost 5 months now and we always see this local spot and we always thought about trying it but we never had a chance to try it until today. First of all, this restaurant is way too overpriced on all their items. one taco is almost $4 a piece. I tried other stuff like their Sonoran Hotdog that got me curious, I had one somewhere in downtown and it wasn't great. But sonoran Hotdog here is good so price is justified. I also tried their Lorenza and it was like "meh" i've tried better. Their sauces isn't the best either, their chipotle sauce is good tho but everything else is another "meh" If you're planning to buy something here better take it home or somewhere else, since this is an open dining area it is infested with FLIES, like TONS OF FLIES. I can't even eat my food peacefully without swaying my hands all the time to get rid of the flies. We got here around 5ish pm and I had mosquito bites all over.. So am I gonna go back? probably, but not anytime soon. It just happens that this is the closes sonoran hotdog spot from where I live so yeah. read more

Disappointing and I won't be back. I ordered 3 hot dogs for my kids and wanted some Toritos for myself but they were out of them (at noon) so instead I ordered 2 tacos for myself. The hot dogs looked good and my kids seemed to enjoy them. However, the $5 a piece tacos I got were disappointing. They didn't have any toppings on them but they did have a topping bar with cabbage and some old looking pico. My issue was with the carne asada meat. I really tried to eat my tacos but they tasted bad. The meat tasted old you know when it sits in the fridge too long and tastes old and refrigerated but even heating it up doesn't get rid of that old flavor? I tried to not be difficult and eat the tacos anyway, but after two bites, I just couldn't. I've never ever sent food back so I thought about taking them to go for my dogs but I was hungry so I took my tacos back up to the counter and asked the cashier if I could exchange them for one hot dog. She looked at me like I was crazy, then asked the cook if they could do that then she looked back at me and asked what was wrong. I told her the meat tasted really old. She looked back at the cook and they kind of had a little discussion amongst themselves so, feeling bad for asking I told her not to worry about it since it was clearly a problem for them. I left the tacos at the counter and sat back down with my kids who were finishing up. A few minutes later she hollers out the window asking if I wanted "the hot dogs to go or for here". I had only asked for one hot dog, not two because I felt that one hot dog was fair enough in exchange for my 2 $10 terrible tacos but she didn't look too happy about having to offer and at that point it felt like I was inconveniencing them, so I declined. Disappointing since I used to go to this place many years ago when they were starting out on Camino De La Tierra. The only positive thing I have to say is that they at least do an ok job of keeping the eating area somewhat cool despite it being outdoors. read more

This is probably #3 on my list of Top 10 Sonoran Dogs in Tucson. That's pretty high up on the list if I do say so myself. This location is really nice and he works great hours. There is more here than just the Sonoran dog, although I have to admit, I haven't sampled anything else just yet. My only critique would be the bun: I felt like the bun here wasn't as good as other places, or perhaps wasn't set on the grill like other places. That's a small critique and of course I'll be back, but that is how this gets ranked #3 overall. Definitely a good location. Go to Lowe's or Target to do some shopping and then grab a quick lunch! read more

Sonoran Dogs are always good. This time I got the super fries (topped w/carne asada, nacho cheese, beans sour cream and pico and sprinkled w/cotijo). It's the same as the super nachos but with fries instead of chips (obviously). It's not on the menu, you just have to tell em to use fries instead. They're really good and they were large enough to feed 3 people sharing. Thus the reason they're like $15. There's plenty of tables and shade for a carreta. read more

First visit after seeing this business on the Marana RESTAURANT NEWS & UPDATES guide. Got carne asada tacos which runs $4.75 each. They were good, but NO condiments, not even salsa or cabbage. Carne Asada tacos are the same price at BK 's (my fav place), except that BK's has a condiment island with guacamole, salsas, limes, carrots, cucumbers, etc. at the same price. I wouldn't expect a truck stop to have a condiment island but at the minimum a small container of salsa would have been nice. Their sonoran dogs are $6 each and after ordering two types, I don't plant to return. In our opinion, definitely NOT award-winning dogs as advertised on the Marana Restaurant News!! Plus, this place charges more for a dog than finer eateries with really good dogs ($4.95 ea). This food truck is EXPENSIVE...a caramelo is $13! Yes! Yummy. Really good tacos. Way broader menu selection than you would think. Sonoran dog was as good as anywhere in Tucson. $3.50 The stuffed pepper with cheese and bacon for $2.50 was good. They had street tacos with pulled pork with generous quantity of meat for two dollars each. Undercover they also had a huge condiment bar inclusive of all of the shredded cheese you could throw on your meal. They have a huge ice chest full of every kind of soda, including Mexican sodas that you could want. Limitless parking in the Lowe's parking lot. read more

This place sucks! Treated my daughter in law like crap and overcharged her $12 for two tacos. On top of that, because she is white, they were very rude to her and called her stupid gringa. Totally unacceptable. I will definitely tell all my latino friends to boycott this place and make sure they are not taking advantage of the customers ever again. The menu is really simple so you won't take forever trying to figure out what you want. It is a "food truck" but has an enclosed eating area, clean tables and chairs, a place to wash your hands, and a condiment bar. They even have a "drive-thru" kind of deal.
