Kenji Lopez-Alt was here only a week ago. I've been going regularly for about a month. Locals have been lining up here a lot longer. This place was my first bite into the iconic local Sonoran hot dog. I shouldn't have waited. I haven't eaten meat for decades but they have a veggie dog option and it's very good. I get it loaded with everything because it all works. This little food cart is worth the drive and the guys running it have the routine drilled in so you won't wait long. Not sure how this little Sonoran Hot Dog stand got on my radar but happy it did as we had a nice little lunch here today. The stand is small, menu items limited apart from the Sonoran Dog but did not care given that is why we came! The two gentlemen that were working were friendly and cooked up some tasty Tucson culinary gems. They have a cooler with condiments and offer various cold drinks under a nice shaded area with clean picnic tables. We have tasted many different Sonoran Dogs around the greater SE AZ area and Sinaloense delivers tasty dogs! read more

We were in Tucson for my wifes birthday, and I wanted to stop here for some hot dogs. I was here last year and it was the best Sonoran Dog I had ever had. Still true! I ordered 3 dogs, no mayo. Honestly, could have probably ate 5 or 6. They are THAT GOOD! My intent was to eat all 3, but then my kids were like "Let me get a bite". Well, they ate a whole one between them, my son proclaiming it was "The best hot dog I've ever had in my life". You are correct, Son! These things just hit different! The griddled bun is perfection, the dog is plump and meaty and wrapped in bacon, the toppings are streamlined so it's not too messy. The dude making them is super friendly, chatting it up with every customer. Just amazing. Worth the 2.5 hour drive from Surprise just for these dogs...seriously! So good, I will crave them until I come back down to Tucson to get some more! read more

Wanted to try the Sonoran hotdog while in southern Arizona. Found El Sinaloense as the top recommended spot by locals. We ordered the Sonoran hotdog with everything ($4.50), which came out really fast. There was a salsa bar so you can add additional salsas and toppings on your hot dog. It was delicious, made fresh. I really like the bread that's enclosed in. It's really toasty and tastes buttery. The fillings are great, beans, onions, tomato, and more. I think you can get away with eating two because they're not super dense, or you can have them as a snack. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a hot dog while in the Tucson area. Service is friendly! You can order for here or to-go. There are also a lot of tables and plenty of parking. I can see it filling up, but not all the tables were taken when we were there, but it did get busy. read more

Easy to find midtown Sonoran hot dogs. Seating area is outside but you can always order to go. Overall my Sonoran dog was tasty. You can add your own toppings like guac, cheese and salsa from the chiller case. Cooks were friendly and are semi quick with the orders. It can get packed at times but there are a few tables for seating. Location is pretty open so you might want to avoid if super windy out. Location is by a main road so it can be a little noisy but it's a chill spot to eat. read more

Recently went to El Sinaloense Hot Dog Cart for the first time, and it did not disappoint! I'm visiting Tucson and had to try a Sonoran hot dog, one of the dishes the city is famous for. We each ordered a hot dog and shared the Tostielote, which came out to $16 total. There were a ton of customers, but we were lucky enough to snag one of the tables in the covered area. Just a heads up: there are no restrooms. It took a little while for our food since everything is made to order, but while waiting I grabbed some extra complimentary toppings, including shredded cheese and green salsa. When the food arrived, it definitely lived up to the hype. The hot dogs were packed with toppings, and every bite was a delicious mix of tomatoes, bacon, pinto beans, and other unique ingredients that paired perfectly together. The TostiElote was also a hit, with plenty of cheese, corn, and hints of lime with every crunchy bite. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area! read more

So good that I stopped by almost everyday I was in Tucson. It's an unassuming cart in a gravel parking lot with limited seating. I was a bit skeptical of a Sonoran dog but it blew my expectations out the water. All the ingredients go together really well and the hot dog itself has a nice bite to it. Service is super friendly; the owners always make polite small talk with a smile. I love getting the avocado salsa and grilled onions and jalapeños from their add on station. The Tostielotes is a perfect munchies food as well. Great food, even better prices! read more

No frills Sonoran hot dog cart with outdoor seating, salsa bar in a cooler, cold drinks- also from a cooler. Awning overhead so you can eat in the shade. I recommend ordering one tortitos per hot dog so you can take a bite of pepper with every bite of hot dog. I appreciated that they had options to up the spice level with not just peppers but hot sauces and homemade salsas too. Fast service and you can watch them prepare your food. It's a food truck, so atmosphere was picnic tables in a gravel lot. But there was shade. The staff were very friendly, and the hotdogs were amazing. Everything I was hoping for. Just get them with "everything". They've also got Mexican coke, which completes the meal. If you're visiting Tucson as I was, you've gotta try a Sonoran hotdog, and these are as good as they get. read more

My wife thought it was a little sketchy at first but we have made a habit of eating dangerously at little side trucks and kitchens. NO danger here!!! Although it was in a commercial area in a dusty lot It was clean and organized and super delicious. If we hadn't been meeting friends in an hour for supper we would have had two more each. I researched places to eat while in Tucson and this stall came up a lot on my search. They are Sonoran style hot dogs which are bacon wrapped hot dogs on a toasted bolillo bun which is like a mini baguette. The hot dog was so good and buried in all the toppings that I forgot if it was bacon wrapped or not. I just remembered saying it's like having a Costco Hot Dog but Sonoran style. It was that good! The location is on a gravel lot with parking. It's under a sturdy steel tent with tables. Dress warm on cold nights as it gets windy. These dogs are great as a snack or meal. Moment i pulled up i knew it was gonna be amazing! My 11yo son was hesitant at first bc he's never had a hot dogs like this and isnt really a fan of hot dogs in general but after his first bite he was hooked. I had a bite of mine and was "ooh hell yea" Chatted with the owner for a while and he told me he's been doing this for 17years and it showed. Best damn hot dog i ever had and now my boy is hooked. Have now tried 6 of about 10 well-rated Sonora dog operations. This is one of two best. Had two just basic dogs with everything to test it out. Nicely grilled bun was a winner right away. Dog was decent size, nicely grilled. Toppings were good, especially the onion, though not better than some other places. A plus was that the bun was not so overloaded that it immediately spilled all over the place or soaked the bun. Sometimes less is better. I'll go back for a dog anytime I'm in the neighborhood but will also try their tostidog. read more

Every food blog and trip advice post I read about Tucson raved about El Sinaloense Sonoran Hot Dogs. This is my second visit to Tucson. First time I went to El Sinaloense 3 times and this time 1 time. So good. A bacon wrapped hot dog in a fluffy bun with tomatoes, onions, beans , peppers , hot sauce and crema. I was practically BEGGING my teammates to hit a Sonoran dog spot while we were in Tucson. On the way out of town, they all indulged me. Great value at 4.50 for a Sonoran dog. It was well topped, with lots of customizability: a salsa bar, pickled veg, canned mushroom, grilled jalapeño and onion, and hot sauce. The owners were friendly and the gravel lot environment wonderful. My only critiques would be that I would have loved some more pinto beans on my dog, and I also would have liked to have had mayo and ketchup to add on top, I personally, love a saucy dog. This spot tickled my doggy itch, the bun was wonderfully toasted, the dining experience so satisfying. read more

Our family has frequently visited this cart for 10 years now and it is by far my favorite hot dog in the world. Anyone stopping through Tucson should definitely make sure to add this to their must eat list. The service is excellent and fast. The price is great( you can't beat getting a hot dog this loaded at this price point). They bring the food to you. The bread they use is so good and you can tell comes from a bakery. read more

So Tony and his wife Tinarae went here on a trip Tucson. We parked our rental car, the Chevy Blazer, we nicknamed Gus, in the gravel lot near a Dairy Queen. We found our way to the covered lot with picnic tables underneath. The food truck beckoned from the other side of the lot. A friendly sport took our order, 2 Sonoran hot dogs one without beans, an order of elote, and a cheese filled bacon wrapped chile. We washed it all down with two Coke zeros from the copious selection of cold drinks in a big cooler. The food was stratospheric! So great! I can't recommend this place enough. Reasonable prices! Don't sleep on the elote. Salsa verde Tostitos topped with corn, coquita cheese and fresh lime. ‍ wow. When in Tucson and looking for food, skip the bolognese and go to El SINALOENSE! Hot dog! Which, you know, is kind of the whole point of a restaurant. The atmosphere was great, a little on the nose, but great none the less. It feels like a Mexican dinner or at least what I imagined a dinner in Mexico would look like. The staff where beyond amazing, especially the woman who made our complementary salsa right at the table. And the salsa was yummy but sadly that's the only part of the meal that I can say that about. The thing is, nothing was truly bad, but just about everything was incredibly bland. You'd have expected someone who puts raisins in potato salad to have served it, not an authentic Mexican restaurant. Though the positive is the lack of seasoning is really the only major problem. The food did not have any weird taste, it wasn't dry, the presentation was fine. It simply needs to be seasoned and this place goes to a solid 4/5 rather than a three.

The burro was covered in cheese sauce and it was literally bigger than my shoes! The photo doesn't do it justice. I managed to eat 1/3 of it and the waitstaff graciously provided to go boxes to allow me to eat it for the rest of the week!!! For drinks, we ordered the El Tamarindo, Mangopeno, and Monica's Cafetini. For food, we chose the Vegan Jackfruit Taquitos Trio and the Fresh Corn Tamale Platter, which came with a side of squash. The drinks were excellent, with the Mangopeno being my favorite. But the real star of the meal was the tamale platter. Oh my goodness it was absolutely delicious! Everyone at the table kept digging in and couldn't get enough. Even the squash side was so flavorful that we ordered an extra serving. The vegan jackfruit taquitos were a bit too deep-fried for our liking and didn't quite compare to the incredible tamales. This is a family business that has been featured in dozens of YouTube videos (and probably TV shows as well). I was greeted by a very sweet and polite young lady and ordered a traditional Sonoran Dog, a carne asada taco, and an adobada taco. All I have to say is WOW. The combination of toppings on that dog was amazing. I had never tried anything like it before, and now I want more. That crispy bacon-wrapped hot dog with the beans, onions, crema... just incredible. The tacos were fantastic as well. I can't wait until I return to Tucson in two months. I'm definitely going back and will probably order three of those dogs next time. They also have plenty of seating, both outdoors and indoors, with nice cold A/C for those brutal Arizona summer days.
