Location Thoughts Right now, the restaurant is tucked back in the outlet mall's food court. I genuinely hope they consider moving to a better, more prominent location so the business can truly blossom. A spot in the Arizona Pavilions or across the highway on Cortaro would be perfect. The only real competitor over there is In-N-Out, which frankly isn't even competition compared to this place, in my opinion. I wanted to try the fries, but my doctor would probably advise otherwise, so I stuck with the Barrio Smash burger and it was excellent. The patty had a beautiful caramelized crust, and every component was spot-on. The bun was toasted and held up perfectly against the weight and juiciness of the burger, which isn't always a given with smash burgers. Great burger truck. But during this recent visit, I decided to change things up. Let me tell you, the food scene in this city is incredible. I'll probably post several reviews in the coming days, but this one had to be first. Sonoran hot dogs are legendary, and everyone told me they were a must-try while in the area. Several places were recommended, but this establishment was only 10 minutes away from my location -- and yes, it was the #1 recommendation. So luck was definitely on my side. This is a family business that has been featured in dozens of YouTube videos (and probably TV shows as well). I was greeted by a very sweet and polite young lady and ordered a traditional Sonoran Dog, a carne asada taco, and an adobada taco. All I have to say is WOW. The combination of toppings on that dog was amazing. I had never tried anything like it before, and now I want more. That crispy bacon-wrapped hot dog with the beans, onions, crema... just incredible. The tacos were fantastic as well. I can't wait until I return to Tucson in two months. I'm definitely going back and will probably order three of those dogs next time. They also have plenty of seating, both outdoors and indoors, with nice cold A/C for those brutal Arizona summer days.
