Ordered the Regular Burrito (pollo), and when asked for spicy or mild I said spicy. It was delicious, and normally when asked spicy vs mild I can never tell the difference, but this actually had a little something. Came with chips and green salsa. I ordered the vegetarian taco (cactus and fungi) and al pastor tacos. They had a very nice presentation. I wouldn't say they were the best in my life, but they were pretty good. The veggie taco was lacking in flavor, but I liked that they gave me three different sauces. I also liked they included fresh cucumber. Horchata was good. Churro was best. It has been a long time since I've had a good churro. They had chocolate and caramel sauce, but I think it's best as is. Perfect amount of sugar and cinnamon, perfect crunch. Only problem is that it's only 5(?) inches long. I really like that they have vegetarian options and I'll have to come back to try those out (research for when the veggies are in town) and the gordita. On a cold Wednesday afternoon, my partner and I wanted to find a good Mexican spot for some food. I found this taco truck on Google and with such good reviews, I knew it would be worth a try. So, we headed over and they are parked up by a company's office building, which in retrospect it is probably fine to just park in that parking lot for a short time, but scared we had parked across the street. It is a relatively busy wide street so it was a little suspect, but nonetheless we made our way to the truck. We ordered a super burrito with cabeza as well as the carne asada fries. The burrito was absolutely massive and the meat was super tender. The carne asada fries were also in a huge portion and so delicious. The meat was chopped up really small so it was tender and there was this smokeyness in the meat that was so nice. The food here was so good and the owner/operator was a really chill guy. La Carreta taco truck is LEGIT. It's right off the overpass at Fashion Island (perfect spot!) Easy parking and close to Target for when my wife's shopping. The nearby water makes for a nice walk while you wait. Their food is "hella" good with bold, unique flavors. My go to is the Al pastor burrito (no rice) It's perfect from first bite to the last. I always see this truck while I'm driving around for work and I was always curious but never got around to trying since I generally bring food from home. Today was one those days where I needed to buy food and tacos always make for a great lunch. I got three tacos which was steak, pastor and suadero. The pastor and steak tasted awesome, nice char that gives it a nice smokiness and everyone knows the slight burnt and crispy bits is the best part of any cooked meat and they have plenty of it. The person running the truck gave advice and recommended some different items off the menu which grabbed my attention for my next visit. Tacos are average priced as most places in the Bay Area. Went back on an invite (by the owner replying to my post) allowing them to correct my previous order. I was greeted immediately and again ordered the Carne Asada "Super Burrito" and I also ordered the Three (3) Tacos Plate (2 Carne Asada + 1 Al Pastor) which was served with a side of onions, slices of Cucumber & Lime. It did not disappoint. These babies are not skimpy (2 tortillas per Taco, fully loaded with meat. Again, the warm chips and salsa were on point. The breakfast menu board was on the sidewalk, but my mind was already made up, that I was going to get me some tacos. No regrets. After eating two tacos and 1/2 of the burrito, I was maxed out. Got a super burrito with carne asada spicy... Do not sleep on this food truck!! Flavor of the meat absolutely hits with a hint of pineapple that's not overwhelming.
