This restaurant was a nice find. We stopped by for brunch. My mom is usually picky, but she was able to find something she liked. We tried a few different drinks: green juice, iced cinnamon latte with oat milk, and an orange juice. To eat we had: machaca con huevo, pan Frances especial, and chilaquiles with machaca. Everything tasted great. The french toast was lightly sweetened and did not require syrup. The chilaquiles were different! Instead of them using tortilla chips, they used tortilla strips. It made the chilaquiles crunchy. The dish had plenty of machaca for each bite. The beans and rice were also good. Overall, we had a good experience. The service was good. If you're in the area, this is definitely a great place to get a bite.
Recommend by son and daughter-in-law. They were right . The taste of this chilaquiles hit the spot. The service was superb with a smile , seems like the waiters like their job because it's very professional and courteous, the ambience is mellow and relaxing . The coffee is also good. I'm coming back to try other plates next time .
Im giving this place a 5 star review because the service is a 10/10!!! All the servers are very very nice and we felt so welcomed and heard! We ordered chilaquiles and the beef toast and came with some delicious potatoes! Both amazing! The ice chai latte was my favorite too! They have a lot of street parking and it's a really cute spot!
I travel down to TJ several times a year and I think I found my new favorite restaurant! The staff don't speak much English but it was great getting to practice my Spanish here and interact with the staff, who were all so kind and friendly! The place is a bit small, so if you want to get a spot, be sure to come early before the crowds - this place seemed pretty popular locally and there was a line out the door when we left around 10:30am. The food: The food here was so yummy! I got the apple belgian waffle and it melted in my mouth and the fruit was delicious. I also got a mimosa and it was one of the best I've ever had! the staff even offered to let us try the other flavors on the house, which was so kind. There were 3 different mimosa flavors - Strawberry, peach and mango, all which were incredible! Parking: there is street parking! be sure to come earlier to avoid the crowds and get a spot.
We had the BEST experience. The open kitchen and cozy atmosphere really created the best ambiance. Watching the chefs at work was like a show! Must order: - Carajillo - Mimosas are w real juice - lobster chilaquiles - waffles (we had sweet potato) - breakfast burger Service was exceptional. It was a 25 min wait but BEYOND worth it!
Really great customer service, they didn't have any tables available so they let us sit at the bar and took our orders. Drinks came out quickly and they moved us to a table as soon as one was available. I got the Iced Cafe De Olla Latte and it was soooooo good. The Pan Frances Especial was also super yummy but definitely a lot going on (I knew this before ordering, I still wanted it haha) The restaurant itself is pretty small but has good ambiance!
The wait is horrendous! It's a very small place with only 7 tables and take outs as well. We waited 2 Hours for a table! Then another hour for the food to be deserved! Totally not worth the drive NOR the wait! The hamburgers was raw!' We asked for well done! The waffle- have no idea how to describe the taste but tastes like cardboard! My kid took one bite of it that's all!!
Great customer service and delicious food! We ordered french toast, red chilaquiles with ribeye and green chilaquiles de langosta (lobster). Highly recommend ordering this.

The restaurant itself is very quaint and cozy. The music is kept a bit high so conversation was not easy. Music choice was very neutral leaning in the rock direction. Very clean industrial hip atmosphere. Very different for playas but I liked it. The food was very good. Firstly I will start with what I didn't like. There are no options/portions for kids. My son had the waffles which he didn't like due to an unknown spice that they had. He ended up finishing with the French toast which my daughter also had. The French toast was very good. The fruits served with them were very fresh. I have the shrimp chilaquiles and my husband had the marlin chilaquiles. The presentation was very different but they were absolutely delicious. The balance of flavor and crisp was my favorite. They have a good selection of breakfast options you don't find everywhere. If you get bored easily this is a good place to come and try new things. The drinks were also very good. The kids had juices which I was very happy with. They were natural juices with no sugar added. Very unusual but the gained big points for this with me. My husband had the mimosas and tried all the different flavors on the menu. Overall the the experience was a very good one. The music level and the lack of kid portions/options kept them from getting a 5 star but I highly recommend this place for anybody looking for something different in Mexican cuisine. Will be back for sure!

After reading a couple reviews I noticed that many guest shared the same experience we did here. Chef Mao treated us as if we were part of his family. He is a very charismatic and talented chef and obviously understands how to keep repeat guests. We had the best service - chef Mao was very attentive and personable. He was willing to make anything that we were craving regardless if it was/ wasn't on the menu. I ordered off the dinner menu and had the most delicious shrimp ceviche. The presentation was unique and every dish we tried he put a lot attention to detail. The interior decor is very modern and chic. I will definitely be coming back this is one of my new favorite places. Prices are great too! Great value!

This place is amazing. I always come to this restaurant for brunch whenever I'm in Mexico or nearby TJ, I love coming back and when I do I always make sure to get the chilaquiles I loveeee the ribeye chilaquiles, the ribeye is packed with flavor, the chilaquiles are well cooked and amazing salsa, the drink menu is perfect I always like having a good amount of options. The price for the food and the drinks is unbeatable for how good the food and drinks are. The service is spectacular they're always attentive and make sure everything is going just fine, as for the atmosphere and overall restaurant vibe it's very calm with a nice elegant feel to it even tho it's a small eating area, the presentation of food and drinks is amazing I love the theme they're going with, and not to mention you're also near by the beach I absolutely love this place and I always keep coming back, if you're looking for a lowkey brunch spot with amazing food, drinks, and service this is the spot. Don't skip it !! read more

Good: *Waiter and host was very courteous and professional and kind. *I like how they put the check inside a mini book of questions to ask Saint Michael. *The who we had was good the French toast was great. The omelette with frijoles and potatoes was great. *The mango mimosas were good. *The café de Olla was natural. It was average. *They gave you a piece of pumpkin bread before you eat while you're waiting for your food. *The restaurant was clean with a small Catholic feel to it. *Parking outside was OK. Bad: * Very small café not good for large group parties. * A bit more pricey for the quality of food and drinks. * They prefer USD dollars or card. Conclusions: Due to the great services we were provided by the waiter, and if we're ever back in La Playas for breakfast or brunch, we would go back to San Miguel restaurant. I will highly recommend you try it. read more

Really great customer service, they didn't have any tables available so they let us sit at the bar and took our orders. Drinks came out quickly and they moved us to a table as soon as one was available. I got the Iced Cafe De Olla Latte and it was soooooo good. The wait is horrendous! It's a very small place with only 7 tables and take outs as well. We waited 2 Hours for a table! Then another hour for the food to be deserved! Great food & service. I recommend any of the chilaquiles on the menu, this place is known for that. The octopus was cooked to perfection & the crab was fresh . These chefs can throw down & create some great food with a beautiful presentation. read more

San Miguel Restaurante was worth the visit. The food is delicious and they offer a variety of protein for your chilaquiles. I decided to try the Ribeye Chilaquiles. The ribeye was so full of flavor, delicious of those that like their meat seasoned. The kids also got chilaquiles, son got Toluca Chorizo Chilaquiles and the daughter got Chilaquiles Verdes with scrambled egg. The wife got the Special Frensh Toast with melted cheese, smoked ham, bacon and eggs on the inside with honey and berries. All plates were truly filling so come hungry. They offer a selections of fruit drinks. Me and the kids got a guava drink...so fresh and delicious and the wife got a green drink-tart and sweet. Before your meal you get an appetizer pumpkin cake. It was so so gooood and moist. The service is really good and they were rlvery attentive. Parking can be limited as there is only street parking available. We will definitely come back whenever we are in Playas de Tijuana. read more

The food at this place is AMAZING. We came in here because our fav taco place was closed, little did we know we just found our new fav taco place The service is out of this world, pretty sure the chef made us tacos that weren't even on the menu and he kept coming out to check on us too! Super nice staff, great overall atmosphere and decor. It's a real chic trendy place. They also had a delicious fresh green juice - no idea what's in it though. Prices were dece. This place is amazing. Chef is a wonderful guy who is willing to accommodate most requests. The food is out of this world. Truly one of the best places in Tijuana. From the salads to the coffee, everything is so delicious. I had the Thanksgiving waffles, OMG these were the best thing I've tasted in a while. Hands down the BEST waffles I have ever had. Truly lived up to the name. All the flavors were complementing of each other and just exquisite. I also had their green juice to justify having such amazing waffles for dinner and it was so fresh. Their other juices are wonderful too. If you care about supporting an US army veteran's business, you'll give this place a chance and I PROMISE you will not be disappointed. Muy buen concepto pero es súper pequeño es lugar y el baño estaba sucio, no siento que es buen lugar para llevar niños. La comida si estuvo rica y las bebidas también. El personal amable, nos compramos unas camisas muy padres del lugar. No cuenta con estacionamiento ni valet. read more

I been wanting to try this place for a while now and finally had the opportunity to do so. Amazing! As we entered the restaurant the owner (I believe it was the owner) greeted us and sat us down. He recommended a few dishes and had the servers take care of us right away. I had the lengua en salsa verde with eggs with a café cubano, best choice. My dad had the machaca which was rich in flavor. I highly recommend this place, the service is amazing, the food is delicious and the place is very chic and cute! read more
