Probably my favorite breakfast in playas. The shrimp and egg stuffed poblano pepper is amazing.

Food was ok but not for the price and service ketchup was bad and spoiled my wife's plate was warm my plate came cold told them all they did was pour more warm hot sauce on top of my chilaquiles red sauce was good. Lots of miscommunication even though we were speaking fluent Spanish. Here is a picture of our Brunch recipe. I was also charged for them to sign HBD for my wife when they asked we can choose from a pastry from the house which was a flan de elote . Price is out of range for service and experience! No Courtesy For Anything and food being cold and ketchup being bad drinks were also not as cold except my cold coke with ice.

We came in sweats and sweatshirt but it's a little more upscale than your average breakfast/brunch place. Our server was attentive and practiced his English with us. The restaurant has a nice ambiance, clean, zen... the food was delicious! The servings are pretty big so come hungry! They offer pan Dulce or a pastry if you order coffee. Which we did. I had the enfrijoladas, my neice had the omelette Azteca. I ordered café de olla but our server suggested the pumpkin spice latte which is my fav and was absolutely delicious! We had to take our food to go bc it was so much yumminess to leave behind.

Such a cutsie little gem! Came to El Encanto with my daughter and son and everything was delicious…read more My daughter and I both got the Chilaquiles Rojas with machaca, two over-medium eggs, and potatoes. You could tell the potatoes were never frozen, the tortillas were freshly fried, and the beans were on point. We shared a 1/2 order of pancakes and WOW... some of the fluffiest pancakes ever. They came with bacon and were honestly my favorite thing we ordered. My son got the French toast which was really good too -- maybe not as amazing as the pancakes, but I'd still order them again. (Of course I tasted everything .) My daughter's banana latte was scrumptious and perfectly balanced without tasting artificial. Overall, such a cozy hidden gem with fresh, flavorful food. Definitely coming back!

It looks like it might end where the corner is, but it extends all the way in. Note that it still fills up quick on the weekends. Very cute interior, coffee, cups, everything. The menu looks like graphic design was someone's passion, although I low key wonder if AI was used. The mazapan latte was a bit too creamy for me, but as someone that usually takes their coffee black, that's probably my fault for ordering something like that. The scrambled eggs were fluffy, and I like how they were mixed in. The cheese was a nice touch. Sometimes, I think refried beans + potato is too dry, but these beans were not as thick and the potato was also surprisingly soft and warm. It also came with some nice tortillas. Finally, a shout-out for this special hot sauce. It's deceptively hot for how sweet and syrupy it looks and feels. Quite tasty. I wouldn't mind purchasing a bottle of this.

The price for the food and the drinks is unbeatable for how good the food and drinks are. The service is spectacular they're always attentive and make sure everything is going just fine, as for the atmosphere and overall restaurant vibe it's very calm with a nice elegant feel to it even tho it's a small eating area, the presentation of food and drinks is amazing I love the theme they're going with, and not to mention you're also near by the beach I absolutely love this place and I always keep coming back, if you're looking for a lowkey brunch spot with amazing food, drinks, and service this is the spot. It was average. *They gave you a piece of pumpkin bread before you eat while you're waiting for your food. *The restaurant was clean with a small Catholic feel to it. *Parking outside was OK. Bad: * Very small café not good for large group parties. * A bit more pricey for the quality of food and drinks. * They prefer USD dollars or card. Conclusions: Due to the great services we were provided by the waiter, and if we're ever back in La Playas for breakfast or brunch, we would go back to San Miguel restaurant. I will highly recommend you try it.

For starters, this place is Michelin recognized, and was rated best breakfast in the world in 2015…read moreby FoodieHub. I told myself if I'm ever in the area again, I have to make an effort to eat at this place. Well, the opportunity arose as I was staying at a nearby winery. The biggest problem I encountered was finding a ride to get to this restaurant. Taxis are nonexistent in the area. Ubers are only in the area when someone from Ensenada requests a round trip to the area, so no they are not available to others. Therefore, I expressed my frustration with the front desk at my winery hotel and they took on the task of finding me private transportation. About 40 minutes later, they called my room to inform me that they located a driver. Unfortunately, he requested an inflated price for the to and from the restaurant. Private drivers down here know that you have few choices, therefore, they can ask inflated prices. Yes, I was in a pickle, but I really wanted to go. I did not rent a car because many of the roads hug cliffs and everyone drives fast, because they know where all of the mountain curves are. Being from Chicago, where we also drive fast but don't have mountain cliff roads decided to play it safe and let others do the driving for me. Anyhow, I debated, and in the end agreed to the expensive terms because when I going to get the opportunity again to eat at a place rated best breakfast in the world? How was the breakfast? It was absolutely delicious, everything was made from scratch. I ordered the cafe de la olla which interprets into coffee from the pot because typically it is prepared with raw sugar (piloncillo), canella (cinnamon sticks), and orange zest. How was the coffee? Delicious. I had some machaca (small bits of dried beef) with eggs which came with delicious refried beans. I also ordered the excellent chilaquiles with an egg and a side of bacon. I also needed to order the one thing most talk about on their menu which is the corn bread pancakes. They used the recipe for a typical corn bread sold down here called pan de elote to make the pancakes, and yes, they were excellent. Turning the batter from this recipe into pancakes was a brilliant idea. Also, I cannot leave out the great tasting freshly made corn tortillas that came with the food. The tortillas down here taste different from the ones back in Chicago because down here a white heirloom corn is utilized rather than the sweet yellow dent corn from the Midwest. Was it the best breakfast that I have ever had in Mexico, or anywhere else for that matter? Well, it definitely lived up to the hype the breakfast was amazing and I do highly recommend it. If you do decide to visit, my best advice is show up early because a line forms very early. I have been lucky to have also had other amazing breakfasts in Mexico and other places in my travels. The secret to this restaurant sits right behind it. On the restaurant grounds is an active ranch, which also doubles as a small zoo, where they source their milk and meats from. Yes, they raise their own animals which later become items on the menu. Does that fresh matter? Yes, it absolutely does make all of the difference. Does it sound cruel? Well, that is a whole other conversation. Let's just say the animals are treated humanely. All of the livestock looked happy as they roamed around the grounds. Unlike the way livestock is treated inhumanly in the United States in dirty overcrowded housing where some never get to see the sun or roam freely in the open air. Livestock in the US are constantly given antibiotics and growth hormones, also fed gmo feed with questionable health implications for those that consume them.
