This is our second stay in the La Casa De La Playa resort by Xcaret and we cannot express enough how much we love this place. The entire staff from the drivers to reception clerks, to butlers to the restaurant staff are truly amazing. The property has less than 70 suites so it has a truly intimate and private ambiance. The interior design screams quiet luxury and every piece of furniture tells a unique story about Mexican culture. There are four different restaurants offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner and we got to visit all of them during our stay. The food is very high quality, prepared deliciously and uniquely presented. The spa is pretty pricey as one would expect in a luxurious resort, but it is worth the price. We loved visiting their onsite chocolate shop where you can get anything chocolate- from popsicles to ice cream to bars and truffles. The onsite closing boutique offers dozens of clothing and jewelry options designed by local designers and artists. My favorite part about this resort is that they do not cater to international tourists like many other resorts do, but they rather showcase the Mexican and Mayan culture in its best vibrancy and beauty. We have seen beautiful places in our travels but this place is definitely in the top five. read more
