The food was incredible with generous portions and a good price point. The sauce on the heuvos rancheros was so flavourful. The beef in the birria plate was tender and plentiful. I got a side of hot sauce which was just like what you'd get in Mexico. I also tried the cafe de olla and it was very good. It has spices and simple syrup. I asked for less syrup so it was only a little sweet but super yummy with the spices. We're really happy we found this place! We'd love to try more things on the menu and we were particularly interested in the soups. The food is authentic and home cooked.

Vibrant, colourful, and everything you would like to see in a Mexican restaurant. Service was friendly and excellent. Food was good. We decided to split the Carne Asada fries, which were my favourite of the dishes. It was bursting with food and flavour. And also a really generous portion. I would order this again. And I asked for their home style hot sauce and it was lovely. My friend had the Flautas and soup which looked great. I had the Sope. Sope was okay but the flautas and soup is what I should have gotten. And during the winter I noticed they have a soup flight which I think would be super fun to try. It isn't my favourite place to eat Latino food in Edmonton, but it was pleasant. Give it a try!

Best Mexican food I've ever had!…read more Mariachi Love was so good--fresh, flavorful, and honestly the best Mexican I've tasted. Everything was delicious. The vibe is fun and inviting, and the staff are super friendly. Good portions, fair prices, and the place is really clean. Highly recommend! I'll definitely be back.

Finally got to try Mariachi Love on a weekday around lunchtime. We had popped in previously but…read morethe wait was 45 minutes plus. First off, I LOVE Mexican food! I grew up in Seattle and am accustomed to good authentic tix Mexican food from the coast. The menu here tells you off the hop that it's going to be authentic and EXPLODING with flavour. Prices are great with lots of small shareable plates. My teen and I ordered the beet salad (bursting with flavour and of course authentic cotija cheese), chicken quesadilla (so good with sautéed peppers but I forgot to take a pic), and molletes (traditional open faced Mexican sandwich with beans, cheese, and pico). We also tried to order the Jamaica hibiscus water but it wasn't ready and was still being boiled. Will definitely try it next time! They are still awaiting their liquor license so no review on cocktails or authentic margaritas, just yet ;-) The beet salad (beet tiradito) was OUTSTANDING and I will probably order that every single time I come! Thinly sliced roasted chilled beets, arugula, cotija cheese, grape tomatoes and housemade orange honey dressing! TO DIE FOR! I love that the salad was small enough that I can still order a single taco or appy with it! Next up was the molletes appy - opened faced sandwich with melted cheese, beans, pico and sour cream. Unfortunately the pico didn't sit right with me - all I could taste was onions. I prefer a pico that isn't mostly onions and one where the raw onions have sat a bit in the juices of the tomatoes and citrus. I brought the sandwich home for hubs (who surprisingly said he could t eat it because it tasted like an onion sandwich rather than the pico being a topping). So if you LOVE raw onions, this may be the sandwich for you. Next up was the quesadilla with chicken and lime crema. Oh. Em. Gee. That was seriously the BEST quesadilla I have ever had in Alberta. It puts all the other places I've tried here to SHAME. The sautéed peppers, corn, and beans inside were heavenly and cooked to perfection. There was a hefty amount of pico on top which my teen mostly picked off (also found it too strong on the onion today). The lime crema was OUTSTANDING. I seriously cannot wait to come back even if the pico wasn't my fave. Also the restaurant is super cute - and they've really given it a cantina vibe despise the small strip mall location. I will definitely do an update when we return and I have a sneaky suspicion the rating mag bump to 5 stars ;-)

So the Ambiance isn't the best here, it looks a little fast foodish with little colour which is…read moresomething I admire in Latino establishments. However, it makes up for it in the food and service. By far one of the best Latino eateries in the Edmonton area (Luna is another favourite). A really great diverse menu and you can find something for everyone. Also a great place for beer, Mexican soda, and cocktails. We started out with Papa al Ajilo - Creamy potatoes sautéed in tasty garlic and guajillo peppers, seasoned with a mixture of Mexican spices, served with Chipotle sauce. These were good. The potatoes were well cooked, although I could have used more peppers in there to me it wasn't spicy enough. However, the chipotle sauce was lovely. I went with the Haurache -Handmade with corn flour and stuffed with refried beans topped the meat of your choice, fresh lettuce, sour cream, onions, feta cheese and avocado sauce. I asked the server to surprise me with the meat. I should have asked her what she ordered for me, but it was delicous and had pineapple with it, so I am assuming pork? Anyway this was the first time with me trying a huarache and it was so freaking delish that I will order this every time I go. My husband ordered the Tacos de Bistec - Three corn tortillas with grilled beef steak, topped with diced onion and fresh cilantro. These were also good but for sure the Huarache wone out. Service even though it was extremely busy was attentive. Honestly what a gem!
