The food was incredible with generous portions and a good price point. The sauce on the heuvos rancheros was so flavourful. The beef in the birria plate was tender and plentiful. I got a side of hot sauce which was just like what you'd get in Mexico. I also tried the cafe de olla and it was very good. It has spices and simple syrup. I asked for less syrup so it was only a little sweet but super yummy with the spices. We're really happy we found this place! We'd love to try more things on the menu and we were particularly interested in the soups. The food is authentic and home cooked.

I had been…read moreattending the Deep Freeze festival and was seeking somewhere aware from the hustle and bustle of the busy festival - plus all the restaurants in the festival area were packed. I stumbled upon this Mexican restaurant which looked highly rated based on reviews online, so I decided to give it a try. It's a fun, colourful place with wonderful service and delicious food at reasonable prices. I went for the beef birria plate which had a large portion of beef that was so tender and flavourful, with large sides of Mexican rice and refried beans, and a serving of salsa. It was delicious and filling. I am already looking forward to a return visit.

Best Mexican food I've ever had!…read more Mariachi Love was so good--fresh, flavorful, and honestly the best Mexican I've tasted. Everything was delicious. The vibe is fun and inviting, and the staff are super friendly. Good portions, fair prices, and the place is really clean. Highly recommend! I'll definitely be back.

Finally got to try Mariachi Love on a weekday around lunchtime. We had popped in previously but…read morethe wait was 45 minutes plus. First off, I LOVE Mexican food! I grew up in Seattle and am accustomed to good authentic tix Mexican food from the coast. The menu here tells you off the hop that it's going to be authentic and EXPLODING with flavour. Prices are great with lots of small shareable plates. My teen and I ordered the beet salad (bursting with flavour and of course authentic cotija cheese), chicken quesadilla (so good with sautéed peppers but I forgot to take a pic), and molletes (traditional open faced Mexican sandwich with beans, cheese, and pico). We also tried to order the Jamaica hibiscus water but it wasn't ready and was still being boiled. Will definitely try it next time! They are still awaiting their liquor license so no review on cocktails or authentic margaritas, just yet ;-) The beet salad (beet tiradito) was OUTSTANDING and I will probably order that every single time I come! Thinly sliced roasted chilled beets, arugula, cotija cheese, grape tomatoes and housemade orange honey dressing! TO DIE FOR! I love that the salad was small enough that I can still order a single taco or appy with it! Next up was the molletes appy - opened faced sandwich with melted cheese, beans, pico and sour cream. Unfortunately the pico didn't sit right with me - all I could taste was onions. I prefer a pico that isn't mostly onions and one where the raw onions have sat a bit in the juices of the tomatoes and citrus. I brought the sandwich home for hubs (who surprisingly said he could t eat it because it tasted like an onion sandwich rather than the pico being a topping). So if you LOVE raw onions, this may be the sandwich for you. Next up was the quesadilla with chicken and lime crema. Oh. Em. Gee. That was seriously the BEST quesadilla I have ever had in Alberta. It puts all the other places I've tried here to SHAME. The sautéed peppers, corn, and beans inside were heavenly and cooked to perfection. There was a hefty amount of pico on top which my teen mostly picked off (also found it too strong on the onion today). The lime crema was OUTSTANDING. I seriously cannot wait to come back even if the pico wasn't my fave. Also the restaurant is super cute - and they've really given it a cantina vibe despise the small strip mall location. I will definitely do an update when we return and I have a sneaky suspicion the rating mag bump to 5 stars ;-)

The feel of this establishment is home in Latin America. Plants and grapes all around. Nice murals on the wall with lots of art. Service was fantastic, Juan (Joe) was our waiter, he is also the owner. He explained the menu, asked what we liked, and had recommendations for us. The menu is very simple. Nothing fancy on the menu I had the pork steak with beans and rice, very delicious. My wife ordered the burrito rice and beans on the side. I also got some homemade salsa on the side that was habanero it was very hot in a good way! While eating it seemed like we were eating in his home. Service was fantastic. I recommend this hidden gem for great food and service. Very clean environment. The chips and mango salsa was amazing.

First off the fries are very well done and very tasty. The burrito had excellent flavor and tons of cheese which is always super appealing. Also big fan of the side on the dish in little cups as it lets me apply as I want. Overall very satisfying.

La Patrona deserves a standing ovation... and possibly an award for making me forget I was full…read more The margaritas were absolutely dangerous--in the best way possible. That upside-down Corona had me feeling like I was solving a physics problem just to get every last drop. The food? Incredible. We had the halibut fish tacos and it was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The barbacoa, and judging by how quickly it disappeared, I don't think he came up for air between bites. The atmosphere was lively, the staff were friendly, and every single thing we ordered hit the mark. The only downside? We now have to explain to every other Mexican restaurant why they just don't measure up anymore. We'll definitely be back... probably wearing stretchy pants and pretending we're "just stopping in for one margarita."

Ordered the Pescado (Haddock Tacos) with a side of rice. Really small portion of rice though. Not sure if that's typical for here or perhaps they were running low...? Also had the Lime Mojito. Mexican music...not too loud. Prices are pretty decent but the drinks are on the spendier side.
