I've given this place another shot after nearly a decade and am surprised to say it's significantly better than I remember! The highlight for me are the refried beans, they're some of the best I've had especially around Muskegon. They're actually blended beans instead of that tan slush you usually are served. Really good! Prices are significantly higher than what's shown on the menu in the photos (my burrito was nearly 2x the price) so they might want to consider taking that down (or at least posting a new one) to set the expectations right. read more

It was a rough chew. This place was recommended by a friend so I really wanted to try it and like it. First off the small basket of chips and salsa were good. The red sauce on the table tasted off in a way that wasn't normal or natural. But that didn't stop my husband from trying it repeatedly even though he kept saying it tastes off. That's on him because the moment we got to the car he had to run to the restroom. Now to the food order. It came out suspicious fast. He got 3 tacos: 2 carnitas, 1 steak, rice and beans. Oh dear. His carnitas were drier than the Sahara and his beans tasted crusty and old like they were heated up several times over. The bean flavor tasted like taco bell beans but taco bell was better. I tried both myself. I ordered the steak fries as a meal. *Sigh of disappointment* The fries tasted like they came out of a bag with over cooked, reheated steak over them. Originally I gave them a great review because I enjoyed their food and the cashiers are always pleasant, however you never know a business until you have an issue for them to resolve. We ordered 4 entrees and only got 2 1/2 of the order. Our family was in town and we wanted to order takeout and eat at the beach. I got to the beach and realized they made a mistake. I left and called them to let them know and they said they'd remake the orders they missed but not the steak fajitas because I did not have them in hand. They only gave us the shells and unfortunately we didn't have a microwave to reheat them. That is poor leadership and business. If it's your mistake... you make it right. This secret, around the corner, restaurant is very authentic and has a warm welcoming feeling of going to your Tia's house for dinner. My only disappointment was that they don't have a really "hot" sauce. You know the one, the one that Tio Carlos puts on everything and if a drop falls on the table it burns a hole to the floor and then threw that too. The kind you dare your friends to try and not drink water afterwards. The kind the "Gringos" fear. But outside of that. You will enjoy your food, your atmosphere and the price. read more

My family used to order from here all the time and I remember it being good about two years ago but something has changed last time I went there. My food wasn't good and there was something that looked weird in my chicken. I'm not sure if it was a bug or a spider or maybe I was just tripping I didn't look much cause I was grossed out but I ended up not even eating my tacos just threw them away and felt grossed out. No doubt this restaurant is dirty. they should upgrade their tables. They don't even have any booths. I've also bought in a homemade cup here before, and the stickers peeled off super easily. Good food IF you can get to them. Not very friendly when they take your order 3 weeks in a row, find out who you are and not deliver. They say it's the distance even though they've been MANY MANY times to my home. Oh well I just not have tipped enough. By first appearance on the inside, La casa Fierro appears to have been a BBQ buffet or a country family restaurant when the establishment was first conceptualized. Shortly there after, the business housed Pablo's Taco's, apparently they closed a few years there after. La Casa Fierro now has the charge of serving Mexican food to the Muskegon area, which has a few other locations with the same ethnic fare. The two times I went to La Casa, I sat down to eat in, clean location from front to back so the first impression receives a passing grade. Not much in the way of decor, but I was famished and looking for taco's not Picasso's. The #13 Carne with Chili Verde sauce was a winner. Pounded cuts of seasoned beef, the sauce had a spicy bite, but not offensive. The combo dishes all come with the traditional rice and beans, however they did not serve traditional Mexican beverages when I had dined there. (IE: Horchada-a personal favorite of mine) The Taco Salad was excellent, all layers melded perfectly together and the taco bowl held up quite nicely. At $4.99 it is a total steal, the Carne Asada was equally, fairly priced. read more

I had never been here before and I was a little confused because no one had greeted us when we walked in, and after we sat down the staff was looking around like they were annoyed by our presence. This was my favorite Taco place, we have been going here for months putting up with very slow service at times because there Tacos are great. When I say going there it is 1 to 2 times a week. Tonight they were very busy but their large table only had 4 people at one end of it. (It seats about 12) I asked politely if we could use the other end because we only had 4 also and the other nice people said that would be fine. After sitting and waiting for a few minutes the waitress came over and told us in no certain terms we could not sit there and we would have to get up go back to the front of the restaurant and wait for another table. I have never been so embarrassed in any dining experience especially after seeing a single set at the end of that table last week!! Hands down my favorite Mexican food. I have been to several other Mexican restaurants and none compare to La Casa Fierro (previously Pablo's Tacos). Their corn taco shells are sooooo gooooood and I could drink the red hot sauce by the bottle. I love going to their lunch buffet and overindulging because the food is so amazing. Awesome food! We did a catering order not too long ago and it was wonderful! They have 99 cent tacos on fridays so we got 3 big trays of them and then ordered the beans and rice to go with. The only complaint I have is that they forgot the chips for the beans. But, I do understand that everyone makes mistakes so we will definitely do it again! read more

This place has gone downhill fast! Used to be Pablos Tacos, which was excellent! Pablo always made sure the tacos used the best ingredients and had plenty of food on the plate! Then he left the country and his daughter took over and named the place La Casa Fierro. She has ruined the business. Using subpar ingredients, skimping on the portions charging extra for things Pablo included in the meal like chips and beans. Pablo and his daughter owned the houses across the street from my dad. The buffet is good and has a nice variety of prepped items and make your own materials. Upon request they will bring you awesome warm fresh corn tortillas with the buffet and then you can fill em up with the fixins. This was EASILY the worst service I've ever experienced at a restaurant. We took our kids here for dinner as it was nearby. 45 minutes after we'd ordered we still didn't have our food! The waitress never stopped back once during this time to check on drinks. I had to get the kid's refills myself! Needless to say we left without eating after a full hour. This place is a joke and they weren't sympathetic at all. Several of the staff were standing around playing on their phones during this time. We will most certainly never be returning. read more

Ugh, so yummy. The 99 cent tacos and Tuesday and Friday are amazing. I recommend the Mexican style(beef, onion, cilantro) on the American style shell. I've never had a bad experience here and the pricing is very reasonable. The chips and salsa they bring you are also really yummy. read more
