Me and my boyfriend went here for the first time today and I thought it was absolutely delicious! The service was fast, and our waitress was very attentive, happy to see us there! I love the overall atmosphere and ambiance, it's super cute and makes me feel at home. We were served chips and salsa very quickly, and despite my hesitation towards the watery salsa, it had an excellent taste! Our food was incredibly delicious and we got a plate to share. One Star We tried the newly opened La Hacienda and unfortunately it was one of the worst Mexican restaurant experiences we've had. First, chips and salsa didn't even come to the table. Instead we were served some strange fried onion-type "wagon wheel" things that had absolutely no flavor. When we finally asked for chips and salsa, the chips were poor quality and the salsa was extremely watery and bland. The menu was also odd for a Mexican restaurant -- lots of seafood and very few classic Mexican staples. I ordered enchiladas and they were just okay, but in a very generic, mass-produced "Sysco-style" way. Nothing tasted fresh or special. Service was also difficult. Our waitress struggled to understand basic requests, and communication was challenging throughout the meal. I asked for wine and was told they only had margaritas. The margarita itself tasted like grocery-store mix and was not good. Overall, the food quality, service, and overall experience were disappointing. Sadly, we won't be returning. read more

I won't go back for one reaon; ths is one of those restaurants where the servers hold the tablet in front of your face suggesting huge tips well beyond the typical 20%. More and more of my friends are tired of the greedy tablets, so I'm hoping this becomes a trend. Otherwise the food was fine. read more

Newer owners since we visited last. Hubby sez he would rate 4, I said 2 so we split it. Super sweet wait staff. I ordered a chimi with ground beef. It was just ok. The beans & rice were dry & boring. Both way too hot for me. A little cheese would have helped everything. Also I shouldn't have to ask for sour cream. Guac would have been nice. He had a tostado. Said it was fine. We will try again to see if this was just a fluke. read more

I just want to put it out there first that the server was super nice and I had no problem with her service at all! She was super sweet. First time here and don't think I'd come back. My husband and I both got the #2 (beef taco w/ chicken enchilada). Food came out super fast...like too fast...so you know it wasn't made fresh. Chicken enchilada was actually a chicken taco in a corn tortilla laid down with sauce on it. Beef taco was dry and shell wasn't great. Rice was dry and reminded me of something coming from a box. To be honest the best part was the bottle of Modelo I had and it wasn't super cold. Plus the prices were pretty high for what you get. We've had better for cheaper in Helena. read more

We were really excited to find a Mexican restaurant in Helena and one with several five-star reviews at that. Do not be lead astray by these reviews unless you have a craving for stale chips, cold, rubbery, salty rice, and a meal that was most likely just assembled out low quality box/canned ingredients. A friend told us about La Casa Fiesta, so we decided to try it. It's a small place and the staff were very friendly. We had a little one with us and unfortunately, they have only 1 high chair that was currently being used by someone else. I definitely recommend getting a couple more high chairs. They brought chips and salsa. The salsa was quite good. My husband ordered the chimichanga. He said the meat didn't have much flavor and the beans and rice were quite spicy . I had a bean & cheese burrito. They were whole beans, not refried, I prefer at least a mashed combo in a burrito. They had good flavor but the beans were very spicy , a little too hot for my liking, although I'm sure some would like it. Definitely couldn't feed them to the little one. I love Spanish rice but I didn't care for this type. It seemed a little dry and dark in color. I would recommend finding a new recipe for rice. It wasn't appealing visually or in taste. It appears that there is a new owner so I am trying to be very honest with this review to help them moving forward. We will give it a couple months and try again as I believe they are making an honest effort. Good luck. read more

This place use to be so good, then it moved and I have to say the food has really gone downhill. First off our server was good, salsa was also very good. I had the chimichanga and my husband had the chimichanga and enchilada. Both our chimichangas were terrible. They were burnt and had a weird flavor. Also presentation was terrible. What happened to some sour cream, dollop of guacamole and some chopped tomatoes and lettuce on top? The rice was dry and dark brown. Hate to say it but won't be back. Thanks read more

as we entered we were quickly seated. The salsa is excellent and I bought a jar to take home. Unfortunately the margaritas are a wine based drink-so no tequila-and they had run out of wine. my wife ended up with a bud lite stawberry rita. I grew up in Arizona and have lived in Texas for many years as well. so I can honestly tell you the food here is 1 star at best. the salsa is still one of my top 10. There is no seasoning on the food. hot sauce is just a way to cover up lack of seasoning. Making it burning hot is not good food. Once again my favorate saying truely applies here. You only think this is good food because you have never had excellent Mexican food. Taco trucks in San Antonio Texs are a 5 star resurants compaired to this pathetic attempt at food. read more

Not impressed. Service was absolutely terrible. After we were seated no one came to take our drink order. When our waitress finally did arrive, she was very rude. She sighed loudly and repeatedly, and acted like she was somehow inconvenienced by having to do her job. She also never checked once to see if we needed refills of our drinks (after we finally got them), or our chips and salsa. I had to walk up to the counter twice and get the cook's attention to get refills of our drinks and salsa. We didn't leave a tip (lol), we do not reward dismal service. I asked our waitress for some hot salsa. She said they didn't have any. Not that they were out, they just didn't carry any. Excuse me, but you dare call yourself a Mexican restaurant and you don't even have any hot salsa? That is just inexcusable. The salsa they did have was decent, but I crave a much higher heat level. Also, the food was very underwhelming, bland, and tasteless for the most part. Additionally the prices were exorbitant while the portion sizes were very small. The high prices were what you would expect to see at a high class, three course Mexican restaurant, but the food just didn't measure up. I could have found higher quality Mexican food and bigger portion sizes at Taco John's. We won't be going back, ever. There's far, FAR better Mexican restaurants in town. read more

The only place in Helena that really can do Mexican food like I used to get in California. Shredded meats are essential to real Mexican food, for both texture and flavor (it seems to absorb the spices differently than ground meat does). read more

They make everything fresh. Including the Taco shells! The salsa was the perfect blend of spice and flavor. They sell the salsa by the quart too! Its a little hard to locate, but its definately worth the effort. read more

I was visiting family in Helena recently and I was asked what kind of food I would like to eat one day and I said, "Mexican!" so La Casa Fiesta was suggested. I am so glad we went there...it was amazingly good and fresh. I am a big fan of chile rellenos and the one I had was fantastic. The rice and beans were extra good, too. I am going back to Helena soon and I am making it a priority to go back to La Casa Fiest. BTW, the service was great, too! The location might be a little sketchy for someone to find if they are not familiar with Helena, but it would be worth your while to ask someone how to get there. read more

I went here cause it is usually pretty busy so I thought " how bad can it be, it gets business" Big mistake. Their food is " fresh frozen" reheated. The rice was dry and I think cardboard would have had more taste. All in all I wouldn't give their food to my dog as he would probably till me his food is better. If you are looking for decent Mexican go to the grocery store and get canned food and boxed rice it would be better than what this place will serve u. Is there a negative star rating? This quaint little restaurant is a hidden treasure! We would have never found it if not for searching for Mexican restaurants online, but now that we have, we will definitely be back. It's a family owned place for about 16 years, and they know exactly what they are doing. My chimichanga was delicious and the salsa was also great! The only thing they are missing on their menu is queso for their yummy chips! Thanks for 2 great meals that were very easy on the wallet! read more

This would be a zero if possible. Save your money and go to Taco Bell. Had high hopes based on other reviews. First, had we noticed how filthy the dining area floor was, we would have left immediately. Unfortunately, we stayed. Terrible "mexican" food that's grossly overpriced. Ordered a chili relleno and enchilada. Thought I'd received the wrong order when the plate came out. (But we were the only people there at noon.) My "chili relleno" was a canned green chili with cheese (not stuffed) wrapped in a tortilla and deep fried. The "cheese enchilada" was a corn tortilla folded in half with cheese melted in it. Both were covered in the same strange "sauce". Definitely NOT enchilada sauce, not red sauce, but a weirdly clearish, green sauce. My friend's taco salad shell was hard as a rock and the shredded beef had a peculiar taste. The chips were stale, too. Such a disappointment for our monthly lunch treat. read more

The service we received tonight was the worst we have experienced in any restaurant we have been in. We had to ask multiple times for a simple item. Anything I personally asked for was completely ignored unless my boyfriend asked, and once those requested items were received they were solely given to him as well, including when I paid the tab. Very disappointing, it is hard to believe a restaurant can go from bad to worse. Helena is not exactly a Mecca of good ethnic food, but today's visit confirms La Casa Fiesta to be the worst in town. The decor is nice and the service is good, but their food is overly spicy. The kids wouldn't eat a thing on their $4.95 plate ($10.00 down the drain), and the spice is in everything from the sauces used to cover their food, to the rice and beans, nothing is safe. Surprisingly, the chips and salsa were the least spicy thing served and actually good. I guess they are used to this complaint because first thing they brought to the table was a large pitcher of warm water with a few ice cubes dumped on top to bring it down to room temperature (not kidding, it is 31 degrees outside, maybe they store the pitchers near the heater?). Finally, I guess it was obvious by the untouched food how unappetising it was, but I was surprised that they must be used to this because unlike most recent experiences, they never asked how the food was and they didn't make any eye contact when they brought the check. When it was time to pay, the waitress didn't bother to take our payment, the cook had to come out of the kitchen. I guess somehow we offended THEM by not liking their crappy food. Here's a tip, if your food is dry and bland, don't smother it in greasy cheese and dump a ton of picante on it, that does nothing to improve it. read more
