You should take note, all the bad reviews are from years ago. The food at this place is the best Mexican in Helena. Their margaritas are legit quality too, not premade. The salsa is hands down may favorite--they put shredded cabbage in it and its delicious. They serve flour tortilla chips rather corn, which I also prefer. Their menu is big and serve a few American dishes as well. The service is okay, but its a small joint on the outskirts of town so they have one person working and trying his/her best. For some reason people in Helena are snobby when it comes to service at restaurants. Idk if its all the out of staters moving her, but its Montana, not New York. You arent going to get Michelin service. I think the only thing really hindering this place's popularity is its location. Its outside if most people's peripherals here not being somewhere like Custer-Montana Ave, Costco-Home Depot area, etc. I hope more people come to this place because I would love to see it get more business. Whoever the server was that worked on 3/06/2025 around 5:30pm was probably the worst server I've ever witnessed in my life. She yelled at multiple customers like actually yelled across the dining area, made customers wait extended periods of time for food, made bartender handle all food orders on casino side( not the bartender's job it's her job) I believe her name is alora and or the niece of the owners at any rate she deserves to terminated because her attitude towards customers and co-workers alike is extremely unprofessional and honestly disrespectful. The cook in the back at this time was also rude not sure of his name but when people asked him for assistance he ignored them went on his phone and hid in the kitchen it's safe to say. Alora and the cooks service has detoured us from ever even wanting to go back to this establishment. So be weary Helena! On a more friendly note if you like great quality service and food I highly recommend El Sabor De Jalisco! Got there around 6:50 and saw a sign that said wait to be seated. Emphasis on the wait. Another customer walked in behind me and the waitress started talking to her completely ignoring me. A few minutes go by and I'm ready to walk out the door when the customer prodded the waitress that I was waiting to be seated. The waitress shoved a menu in my hand and tells me to find a seat and she would find me. Well, she never 'found' me and at about 7:25 I just walked out. Never have I seen such terrible service. We've eaten here many times and it has always been wonderful. Recommend the Rancho beans and if you like HOT, ask for a side of the XXXX sauce - it will elevate your consciousness. The waitress was awesome and the food excellent as usual. No ginkers ("unchewables") in either the chicken or pork, both of which are fantastic. Just an FYI. According to the waitress Fiesta has now started charging an 18%+ gratuity on all tables. While we would have paid 20%, it was quite frustrating that we were given a bill for a table of two that indicated 10 people. When we argued that we were not 10 people, we were told that that is just how it is. This practice seems incredibly shady and leaves zero room for tipping based on service actually provided. We have had multiple problems with Fiesta over the years, to include wait staff physically fighting and food orders being wrong. This is the last straw. This should not be "just how it is". read more

Trying to help out a local restaurant during COVID, we ordered takeout. After driving all the way across town we were given the wrong order ( luckily we checked before leaving). They gave our order to someone else and we had to wait another 20 minutes for them to remake it. Manager wouldn't come out of his office to speak to my wife and the server said she couldn't do anything because she had closed her till. In these difficult times, too bad they just lost a customer! We almost walked out waiting for our dinner. We arrived just after 7pm for dinner on 10/2/19. When we got there, there was a sign saying to wait to be seated. We waited and waited and waited. We waited for well over 5 minutes before we were seated. Once we were seated, no one came back to check on us for over 10 minutes. She came to get our drink order and only then realized that we didn't have menus yet. We figured out what we wanted pretty quick but had to wait at least another 10 minutes before she came back to take our orders. By that time, my daughters were getting tired and we were already frustrated. So we waited and waited and waited again. We saw lots of food go to the casino and we saw two tables come, eat, and leave between us sitting down and us actually getting our own food. At 8pm I told my husband they had 10 minutes bring our food or we were leaving as our kids were starting to get cranky and overly fussy. At minutes before 8:10 the waitress said that our food had just come up. They brought our girls food (quesadilla and a hot dog) out and then we waited AGAIN before our fajita was brought out. I finally told the waitress she had 2 minutes to get it out or we were leaving and what do you know! It was out in 10 seconds. We paid $21.50 for a fajita that we shared and the amount of food that came with it was not worth the $21 in the least. At any other restaurant we would have easily gotten double the amount of the meat for that same price. The waitress later apologized for the long wait time and mentioned that they already had 4 people walk out before us because of the slow service. The food was alright but not worth the money charged and the time it took was so slow. We were there for nearly 1 hour and 15 minutes before we finally got our food. We will not be returning to this restaurant in the future. read more

Ok I wasn't sure about this place mainly because it's a casino/restaurant, but decided to be brave and give it a try. I was happy I did! The menu was deep and had lots of awesome options. I decided to order something a bit different and ordered the machaca con huevos. It was a generous serving of rice, refried beans, and machaca. It was served with tortillas. Finally, it was delicious! I was quite impressed with the taste of the food and the quality of the service. Of they can do machaca this well, surely they can make a good taco, right? I guess I'll have to return and try it in the future to make sure. So far, so good. I recommend giving this place a try. read more

Went in there today. Didn't end up eatting there. It was dirty. The restaurant is dirty the booth was dirty and even the venues were dirty. They raised their prices so it's $11 for two tacos and everything else is around $17 way too expensive. Plus we were there for like 10 minutes and no one had even waited on us yet. Place is dog shit and service is terrible. If I could give it less then 1 star I would. The waitress was the worse part. Wasn't busy, but never took our orders. When you're in Helena, Montana the first thing I always think about is Mexican food... Not, but to my surprise this place reminds me of Southern California. So the day we went, only 1 waiter. The guy was super friendly and nice even though the place was packed. I don't know what Montana thinks queso is, but the yellow nacho cheese is not it. Queso is white...and since it's the main food group for me I was not happy. Also nowhere in Helena has white cheese dip at all. And the food was horrible. We were truck browsing and stumbled in for lunch on a snowy cold Saturday in March. Not busy and we were greated by a nice waitress. Got the menu, LARGE selection of food but prices were a bit high, $10.75 for 2 tacos. I ordered the taco salad with shred beef. HUGE disappointment! It was so small, and it was tastless with an over abundance of sour cream! I could not add enough salsa to it to achieve the desired result. Shaking my head, telling myself I will not come back EVER AGAIN. Sad. Prices high and food was blah, afraid to go back again to have the same experience, so I won't even try. To top it all off and what really nailed it for me is that the place was dirty, dirty floors, tables not wiped down and and over all feeling of gross. Oh well, now we know. read more

We were excited to finally try this place out, but that excitement quickly gave way to disappointment. The staff was disorganized, but friendly. We placed drink and food orders promptly. My margarita was delicious, but outrageously overpriced. They don't have prices on their drink menu for a reason, folks. Listen- I've lived in a lot of expensive places (England, NYC). I'm fine for paying for quality. However, I'm going to have to say $14 for a tiny margarita in Helena, Montana is just insane. Then the food came. I ordered the chile relleno and tamale combo, and both were so tiny that when they set my plate down, I thought they had mixed up my order. Obviously somebody had given me two cheese wraps instead. Alas, this was not the case. For just roughly $11, I got bite sized food and a watery portion of tasteless rice and beans. The bf ordered the combo plate that allowed him to try a bit of everything. He was equally unimpressed. (I will say, however, that he actually had a respectable amount of food). He ordered a side of sour cream because some of the items were a little dry. Buyer beware, they will charge you $2 for this. My recommendation is to skip this place and go to one of the many other places in town. Food is decent for Helena. The cabbage salsa is the best but they run out quickly. Service is always hit or miss. Side tacos are $3 a piece and are stuffed full. On Fridays and Saturdays they are always busy for dinner so expect a long wait time to be seated and long wait for food. Friend recommended they ate here three times in two weeks. Greeted and seated I was waiting for two to join me. ordered house margarita for less then six dollars. I know the drink prices are not listed just ask. Large menu with many options. waitress brought chips and two kinds of salsa while I waited. My friends joined me and ordered drinks everyone enjoyed the margaritas. We placed our orders and more chips and salsa came out. Our dinners came out fast and hot and nicely plated. My combo plate of shredded beef taco and enchiladas were nicely seasoned and the refried beans good. had leftovers for lunch. Attentive waitress, clean pleasant decor. We ordered three dinners to go tonight. When my husband got home we open the boxes. And one of the dinners only had two out of four items. We tried calling but the number no one picked up and it went to voicemail which the box was full so we have no way of getting a hold of the restaurant. I love Mexican Food from this region of Mexico! This is the real deal. You can't go wrong with any of the house specials. I only wish Fiesta Mexicana would offer a daily special because it is so hard for me to choose for myself with all the options. Terrible service. Terrible food. Went there with my wife last night-just 2 of us. Restaurant was only about half full which means about six tables full. Had to wait 15 minutes for drinks and waitress brought wrong drinks. Then had to wait an hour and 20 minutes for our meals and one of two was not what we ordered. Didn't have another hour and a half to wait for the correct meal so tried to choke down part of what was served. Waitress didn't apologize or discount meal. Don't go there if you want decent Mexican food served in a timely manner. read more
