I really like the food here. Usually order to go but I pick up inside and it is always very clean. The staff are efficient, and friendly. The chimichanga is large and full of meat. I also have ordered the flautas which were very crispy but I thought the beef was a little chewy. The prices seem a little high to me but the portions seem to make up for that. Very good tacos at a good price. I was looking for authentic street tacos and found them at El Sabor De Jalisco. I had barbacoa and carne asada tacos. They were dressed simply with meat, onions and cilantro. The sauces were awesome. I highly recommend El Sabor DE Jalisco. read more

So good! I ordered a torta de carne asada but got carnitas by mistake. Turned out to be really good! Torta de carnitas with their salsa de guacamole was bomb. The bread was toasted perfectly. I should have ordered two. I was skeptical about trying Mexican food in Montana cuz let's face it, it's Montana. But I was wrong. My mom and her family are from Jalisco and this was reminiscent of her cooking. Next time I come through, I will get the carne asada torta along with menudo. 100% would recommend. read more

Beware the workers here are not to friendly, the food is ok. I had three different tacos (pastor, carne asada & pollo) both carne asada & pollo were dry so I really didn't enjoy that. Oh my lord. Honestly, I'm not up on the quality of the Mexican food in Helena, but this place was fantastic. We ordered 5 different kinds of tacos and they were fantastic. My favorites were the lengua and the barbacoa. Everyone is very friendly, and the place just reminds me of the eateries of my youth in Phoenix. I'm desperate to explore the entire menu, but my trip home is too short. read more

I've been here at least 4 times in the last month. I've had the carnitas plate, 3 tacos plate, and individual tacos (pastor, carnitas, asada, and pollo). I really like it. Hands down best Mexican food in Helena, and I may go as far as saying most authentic in Montana. We frequent Montana for work the past three years from SLC and have been disappointed in their food, especially their Mexican cuisine. However our prayers have been answered. They actually have spicy salsa and REAL pastor, nothing compares to this place I highly recommend you try it whether you live in Helena or are just a passer by. Authentic, tasty, quality Mexican food! I usually don't go to restaurants for Mexican food because it can be hit-or-miss, but this place knows how it's done!! It's no wonder why they had a big line of customers, but I guarantee that it is worth the wait! The family ordered different things, but I tried the chimichanga (deep fried burrito) and was impressed that the carne asada wasn't burnt/overcooked. They even pour salsa over the chimichanga and that was the "cherry on top"!! Anytime I'm in Helena and want Mexican food, this will be my go-to! read more

My first visit since they opened. They definitely know how to make authentic chili rellenos. Unfortunately while I was refilling my drink, they cleaned up my table before I finished. However they completely made up for the mistake by giving me a free chili relleno meal to go! That deserves a 6th star. read more

I'm glad others were impressed by this place but my tamale plate was cafeteria-grade food. One of the tamales was cool inside with a semi mushy shell on one end yet overcooked to the point of being completely carbonized on the other end of the tamale. Pepsi was completely flat. This place was incredible. We walked into the door and were nicely greeted by the friendly cashier. Then we ordered and sat down and got our food in no time. We visited this restaurant yesterday after reading a good review. We have been in search of really good Mexican food in Helena and this restaurant fills the bill. Very authentic excellent food. Friendly staff. Fairly priced. Very clean. Salsa bar with mild to hot sauces and additional condiments. I suggest that they label the sauces with reference to heat level for those that do not like their food too spicy. I like all heat levels, so for me it was not a problem. We had breakfast. I had a breakfast burrito with chorizo. The party I was with had steak and eggs. Both were excellent. We definitely will make this restaurant one of our favorite stops.
