It sat vacant for a few years and briefly reopened as a performing arts space in 2013 but was forced to shut down. After being declared a historic monument, it underwent a complete renovation by new owners in 2015. The building changed hands again in 2023 and functions as an event center and a shared common workspace. This three-story venue has rooms upstairs. Downstairs is the main room with lofty ceilings, large windows, wood floors, a kitchen, bathrooms, and a stage for a DJ or live bands. Downstairs is a speakeasy style bar and the backyard is also a nice spot for an outdoor reception. I've driven by this place numerous times thinking it was just a church. I recently saw that there was a Holiday Market Place being held here so I stopped in to do some shopping. There was a man on the front lawn making pupusas and people sitting at tables enjoying them. Inside is quite spacious and there were several vendors selling their merchandise. The tables were nicely spaced apart, so it was easy to browse. This realty is a nice spot for an event or to use as a shared workspace. *Street parking only.

CRATES. they barely had any garbage disposals for us to clean. main thing was the workers under the company look lazy and rude. if we didn't clean, they would keep the deposit. I don't think a reception of that size would be overlooked by the host and simply wasn't disclosed that significant detail. for the price of a different venue with all services for cleanup, seems like it's better to go somewhere else. plus, no parking and it's only street. interesting space but pass.

My first review of 2019! This is for the South Pasadena Tournament of Roses parade float…read moredecorating volunteers! The float is located at the side of the War Memorial building and is the "Oldest self-built float in the Rose Parade." This organization has been building floats since 1893 and have won numerous awards, including the National Trophy in 2016, the Founder's Trophy in 2013 and the Fantasy Trophy in 2012. Volunteers begin the construction phase of the float in June of each year and decorating begins in October. You must be at least 13 years old to participate and they do give school and community service hours! LA East CM, Katie B. told me she did this while she was in school! You additionally need to sign a medical release form, wear closed-toe shoes and old clothes that may get glue, water, seeds, bark and, if you're lucky, flowers on them! You are also working outdoors in the shade and you should dress in warm layers. Nadine C. flew in from Hawaii just to fulfill this "bucket-list" item. We worked for 5 hours in cold, windy weather. Since this was right after Christmas, we did not get to work on flowers, but we filled thousands of water vials and capped them to be flower-ready! We also had the unusual task of ironing eucalyptus BARK! This is just as difficult as it sounds but smelled nice. The bark was used for the guitar portion of the float. This was an interesting way to spend time volunteering on a beautiful project. The folks there were very nice and appreciative. There was a little gift booth where you could purchase pins and shirts and coffee mugs and other Rose Parade memorabilia. Nadine went crazy at the booth... Warning, this is definitely not a luxury situation and there are only porta-potties and some hot coffee and maybe doughnuts. Volunteers that day did not receive a tshirt (but Nadine went to another site in Irwindale and received a tshirt for volunteering!) I would do it again! Yelp Challenge 2019: 1/100

Parking is very limited and there is no sign or you can't tell if parking is full until you pull in. Then, you would have to reverse the whole way out, it is that tight! Street parking (residential or the big street) is the only other option. Restroom is small and the hall is small but fit for a small and intimate wedding. My friend had everything catered. Overall, it is a very unique and historical place, that has many areas that are good for some photo ops.

They upgraded furniture, updated the bridal suite, and provided the most exceptional catering and bartending services. We were honestly so grateful to have them be a huge part of our special day. The transition from our original contract to the new contract was so seamless. It was almost as if nothing had ever changed in the first place, the professionalism, the courtesy of everyone involved was just so incredibly nice and accommodating, we couldn't have asked for a better result. Shae was our venue manager and she was so understanding, willing, appreciative, and a genuine energy that made us feel like we were in amazing hands and it was more than we could've asked for. The entire wait & bar staff were incredibly attentive, warm, and truly just felt just like an extension of our family. And a special shout out to Josh, our head server, who served us more than just food and drinks, but such a positive energy throughout the entire day which was so needed! I've been to this auditorium many times over the years, mostly to attend Los Angeles Breakfast Club…read moreevents on Wednesday mornings but I've also been to a few receptions and other parties here. This place was built in the 1960's by the Breakfast Club and given to the city in exchange for holding their meetings there. It is quite spacious with an abundance of parking in their private lot. It is a great location for larger events in that they have a stage and a large industrial kitchen. The downside is that the place needs some work. While I don't mind the 60's vibe, it seems that the city is not maintaining the space. The folding tables are quite worn around the edges and seem to be quite old. The chairs, while not completely uncomfortable, are certainly feeling their age. The kitchen, while quite large, apparently needs work. The large commercial dishwasher has been inoperable for a few years according to a staff member I spoke with, making it difficult for caterers who have to hand wash everything. Why do we pay all of these tax dollars to maintain city owned facilities? The bathrooms were remodeled somewhat recently. Whoever designed the remodel of the men's room should be fired. Who would place the hand dryer in a corner next to a urinal where both cannot be accessed at the same time. That is so odd to me. But overall, I'm happy to see the building being used. There are so few places large enough for big events that also has a large parking lot. I just wish the city took pride in the building, especially since they didn't pay for it. The least they could do is maintain it since they are charging a hefty fee for its usage.

Again, I can respect a space being rented but if your doors are wide open and no sign saying it was a private event no entry, it can't be justified. Do better when renting out your space.
