I found a baptism prayer card, cross and nun nesting doll for my gifts. Some prices were great, very affordable, some items had very high prices that confused me, I assume they were antiques, many items were imported too. I've been wanting to stop in and check out this place as they are local and getting great reviews. The owner said he's been there for over two decades. There is a wonderful collection of loose-leaf tea, books, and gifts. If you are seeking books on spirituality, religion, meditation, etc, they have a nice collection of published work. They also carry beautiful cards, incense, and teapots. They had a special display of their matcha products too. The atmosphere is soothing and peaceful. But after the recent church remodel and addition, those problems have been solved. The new, improved, and much larger bookstore has a bright, airy location inside and to the left of the main lobby, just past Cafe 4 (the new coffee bar). The bookstore is spacious, has plenty of windows and natural light, a little nook for kids stocked with beanbag chairs, and plenty of fiction and nonfiction books, Bibles, and children's books. I love the bookcase of "Pastors' Picks" and the reading area with two cozy armchairs. It's a fantastic location with a view of the Bay, and with Christian bookstores few and far between and the recent closure of Jordan's Village Books, this store is much needed in Castro Valley.
