My family moved here from Globe, AZ several years back and the one thing we missed from there was the Mexican food. Thank goodness part of the Villalobos family decided to come here too! If you are looking for authetic Mexican food full of flavor, this is the place! The beans are the best around, they load on the cheese, just absolutely my FAVORITE place to go! The ambience is a lot like the Mexican restaurants in Globe, not full of kitschy decor. The environment isn't overstimulating, the service is quick and good. We stopped by La Casita after attending a birthday party nearby with a party of three adults and a baby. The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, with only one other table ahead of us. We were asked to seat ourselves, and after a few minutes our waitress brought chips and salsa and took our drink order. About 10 minutes later, we placed our food order: a chicken quesadilla, chicken enchiladas, and a chicken enchilada/taco combo. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. After waiting nearly 45 minutes for our food, the table that had arrived before us had already finished their meal and was paying their bill. By that point, we had run out of chips and salsa. The salsa itself was disappointing as well, tasting more like plain tomato sauce than fresh salsa. Our waitress then informed us that they had run out of chicken and were cooking more. We understand that things happen, and we appreciated being told, so we agreed to wait a little longer after being assured the food would be ready in about 10 minutes. A little over 10 minutes later, our food arrived. The chicken quesadilla was cold, while the enchiladas and combo plate were very hot. The enchiladas themselves were disappointing. Rather than traditional rolled enchiladas, they seemed to be folded tortillas with a small amount of fatty dark-meat chicken, covered in sauce and cheese. The texture and presentation weren't what we expected, and the tortillas seemed stale. We understand that restaurants can have off days and that running out of ingredients isn't always avoidable. What left us most disappointed was that there was little acknowledgment of the long wait or the issues with the meal. A simple apology or effort to address the situation would have gone a long way. We were hoping to find a local spot we could come back to regularly, but unfortunately this visit didn't leave us with that impression. read more

The menu has a lot of items not typically seen in a Mexican restaurant, but it's tasty and servers were friendly.

We were invited here for Taco Tuesday and it did not disappoint! We all ordered three hardshell shredded beef tacos (a La carte) and two of us threw in a beef machaca taco too on the recommendation of our server. The shredded beef tacos were actually very good. They pack them with plenty of meat and top off with lettuce and melted cheese (our friends said they're not normally like this?). I requested a spicier salsa than the house salsa and it was perfect on the tacos. The machaca taco was tasty as well, but I think I preferred the regular shredded beef tacos. Service was great and they also serve a fantastic Margarita! It's not overloaded with tequila, but is quite tasty nevertheless. We women each had two as the men had their couple of beers. We didn't even know this place existed until earlier in the week when my friend invited me for lunch and this is where we landed. We agreed that we would be joining them for Taco Tuesdays (every other week!) and making this a regular dinner date for us all. When we first arrived the place only had a couple occupied tables, but by the time we left the restaurant was packed! Looking forward to coming back and running into more of our neighbors, because apparently many of them knew about this place before we did! read more

I have been here twice now. I personally love the food and the service is always nice and fast! The interior is always clean. The food is some of my favorite Mexican food in PV! I love that they don't drown their dishes in onions. I have really enjoyed their rice and beans and enchiladas. Their chips and salsa are very yummy too! My toddler loved their French fries and chicken tenders. My family members enjoyed their tacos and tamales. I also tried a tostada once and it was delicious and fresh. Customer service was very nice and helpful too. (I ordered a three item combo but switched it to a two item combo. I received the three item combo but I didn't complain since I did order it originally. But the manager noticed and only charged me for the two item combo which was very kind.) We had them cater a family party for 55 people ~ it was great! They gave us an excellent price, with a slight discount for paying cash, which I really appreciated. Delivery was right on time, set-up just as we asked for and the food was DELICIOUS! Our menu was cheese enchiladas, carne asada tacos, vegetarian beans and rice with fajitas vegetables plus tortillas, guacamole, lettuce, cheese, pico and two salsas with chips. We had plenty of food ~ which made for wonderful leftovers. Family especially liked the cheese enchiladas and the vegetarian beans, and the hotter version of salsa was a real hit. They have 13 other locations around arizona, it's a family tradition for more than 80 years. And the mexican food at La Casita in Prescott Valley, is the best mexican food in Prescott Valley, Prescott, Dewey-Humboldt... check it out. You'll be glad you did! The spicy salsa is hot and very flavorful! We mixed it with the milder hot sauce and it was superb! The chicken fajitas are fantastic and arrive at the table sizzling hot. This restaurant has only been open for 13 weeks, just got their liquour license. Its off the beaten path located in the middle of a neighborhood. We came for lunch on a Thursday. The food flavor was good but very disappointed in almost no meat in the dishes. I'm not sure if they are trying to save money or what. I would have thought I got the wrong dish. I got the chicken enchiladas and they were cheese enchiladas with a slight sprinkle of shredded chicken on top. My friends green Chile burrito had the same amount of pork in the burrito. It was like a meat garnish. It made me think of someone who was trying to be vegan but weren't ready to go no meat. Good rice and beans, be careful of the hot plate. The interior is very plain, you wouldn't know you were in a Mexican restaurant based on the lack of decor. Service was good. read more

OMG! The best Mexican food I have had in a long time! The spices are what makes the difference. Portions are large, so you will like take part of your meal to go and look forward to eating it later. All of our meals were delicious. The guacamole is fresh and there are no extra ingredients like salsa or sour cream like some places add to stretch the avocado. Salsa was just right, not too spicy. Our friends had never had a Navajo Taco and they loved it. Something that really surprised me was how wonderfully seasoned the chicken in my chicken enchilada was. Most places use under or non seasoned chicken in dishes they are going to cover in sauce. Not this place. Top notch. I was craving for delicious Mexican food which is hard to find here in the Prescott/Prescott Valley area; and to my surprise found La Casita Prescott Valley -this is a fairly new place to eat Mexican food. We ordered 2 - Machaca Nacho Supreme dishes with 2 Horchatas to go. The food was very delicious, very well packed in aluminum containers to keep warm. The order came with a huge bag of fresh warm chips and several containers of fresh salsa in the bag which was a huge bonus. The machaca is a shredded beef very well seasoned that goes on top of a bed of chips, refried beans and pickled jalapeños. Then it has some clean and freshly shredded lettuce, with nicely diced fresh tomatoes, and cheese on top. Also, it comes with delicious Mexican sour cream, and fresh authentic guacamole that were nicely packed in separate containers to add at home. The whole meal it's very savory, well presented and very filling. It arrived in great condition. It's not greasy or watery at all. You must try it The Horchatas were also very delicious too ! We will definitely frequent this gem to try other dishes. We placed the order online and when we arrived the food was delivered to our car. Stumbled across this gem today, my wife and I decided to give it a try. We ordered the daily special which was enchilada rice and beans with iced tea for $12. I had the chicken and my wife had the cheese. Both tasted good, and the portion size was huge! It was served on a hot plate. Rice was very fluffy and flavorful. Refried beans were not watery and had a nice flavor. Their standard hot sauce was also good and had a little heat. They offer a spicier salsa, we will get that next time. What can I say so far my experience with Mexican food in the Prescott area has not been the best ,being from Southern California guess I was spoiled with all the food places to eat but the biggest difference is the taste of the food maybe it's the altitude that has changed my taste buds who knows but the best Mexican food I've had so far is at Alfonso's on iron springs rd sure miss my moms cooking.I might have to go back to the Manteca to see if that brings the flavor back. I wish I could give this restaurant TEN stars!! It is a little GEM of a restaurant. Nine of my friends and I met for lunch on a Thursday. We had a reservation. They were FRIENDLY & accommodating. First pleasant surprise: Prices are LOW compared to area restaurants. Second: Portions are LARGER than elsewhere. Third: Food was served on VERY hot plates with steam coming from each hot entree.
