The taste reminded me of the outside of a tamale. They kind of crumbled when you took a bite. The shredded beef had a birria flavor but without the dipping sauce. We added chips and salsa for a whopping $7.00! Our lunch was $45.00 total. Restaurant was clean and smelled pleasant. Employees were friendly. I hadn't been here in quite some time, but decided to stop in for an early lunch. I ordered a birria torta and though there were only two people ahead of me (their orders were to go), it took quite some time to get my food! Great customer service and good food! I had the three taco, plus beans, rice and drink special - great value! I tried the tinga, asada and pastor tacos, all were very good with the chicken tinga being my favorite. Love the thick, handmade tortillas. They had 4 different Agua fresca plus horchata. I had a melon lime drink which was excellent and not too sweet. I like to support family owned businesses and like authentic Mexican food but I have to say that the Tinga chicken taco's did not have much flavor even after adding the mild salsa. I had the carne asada tacos and they were honestly packed with flavor. The meat was juicy and had a great sear on it, with just enough seasoning. The tortillas were warm and had that slightly chewy texture I love. They don't overload them with toppings which I actually liked kept it simple but tasty. The hot sauce they give on the side adds a nice kick too. The staff was friendly, and even though it was busy, food came out pretty quick. Seating's a bit limited but the vibe was fun and energetic. Yeah, this place is actually as good as the reviews say. They really do press and griddle every tortilla fresh to order. The crispy tripa (intestine) was so incredible that I came back a half-hour later for a fourth taco because I was thinking about how good it was. Carne asada was also solid, especially with the spicy salsa. The only complaints I could make would be that (1) I was less impressed by the cachete (cheek), which was still tasty but not the best I've had, and (2) the tacos are on the small side, closer to "mini tacos" elsewhere. But if you just get the #1 special with 3 tacos, rice/beans, and a drink, that's no issue--there's a reason it's 3 tacos on that instead of 2. read more

We came here for dinner one night and I was wanting some authentic Mexican food. I saw the birria tacos on Yelp and was immediately sold. This place is just off the main road to Prescott in a small complex across from all the car mechanics. The inside is small with a few booths and tables. The two ladies were super nice one side is ordering and drinks and the other side is the grill where they cook everything to order. I of course had the birria tacos, which came with the two and consome. I also ordered one carne asada taco with the onions and cilantro and a side of rice. My husband had the birria tacos as well and a chicken quesadilla. The birria tacos were top 5 best birria tacos I've ever had. They were warm and flavorful and the meat was so tender and juicy. Oh my gosh, they were to die for. The carne asada taco was also delicious and so authentic. The rice was super yummy, a little less heavy on the flavor side but super good with the tacos. Really good salsa! Difficult location to find though. The fajitas that we shared were so so. The downside to this restaurant is that it's a hole-in-the-wall place with peeling paint on the walls. The other negative for us was that their prices seemed a bit high, considering the location and lacking ambience. The best part about our experience at this restaurant was the staff. They were extremely attentive, and lovely to visit with! But our bill, with a shared entree and $8 ice cream dessert, and my husband's beer, was over $40. Other than the very nice staff, the value just wasn't there for the price points that they were asking. If the prices were 30% less, I think we would return. read more

If you're visiting Prescott Valley, you NEED to come here. We've been coming here since 2021, and it's absolutely delicious and the owner is really nice! The Tapatio Ramen with Birria is to die for. The cheese quesadilla is also amazing if you dip it into the Tapatio bowl. Carne asada tacos are delicious. Everything is delicious. Cannot stress this enough. We are moving out of state and this is going to be the only food place we miss. Side note: parking lot is very tiny, so it can be difficult to park sometimes. As others have said, this is a hidden gem. Small unassuming place with a limited menú. We tried the street tacos and they were delicious. The tortillas were home made. Place was very clean. 4 booths and one large table. We went at 2pm and from the outside it looked empty but there were 2 other customers inside. I was in town and read many great things about their tacos I had to try them. It is located on the left side corner of the plaza, it is small but it good. I ordered two carne asada tacos. I liked the decor around and all the funny taco signs. The tacos were good. The tortillas were fresh, the meat had good flavor and it was a good decent amount of meat for one taco. The inside was very warm but with winter coming up probably be more enjoyable. Next time I can't wait to try other items. This is a great restaurant for taco lovers. They have a great variety of tacos. The birria is so delicious. My favorite is the Quesa tacos. Every single ingredient is fresh and blends together perfectly. We get the carne asada and el pastor tacos too and love them. My husband is a big fan of the tapito de birria. Randomly went down wrong street and so happy I did. Food here is amazing!! Had their 3 taco special with rice and beans. The tortillas were missing a touch of salt but still extremely flavorful. Not greasy and tasted so fresh. The meat was all cooked to order and extremely tender. Had beef cheek,Burria,Tinga,and pastor. Great quality meat. Only had 1 cook and I'm assuming owner. Both were very nice and made me feel welcome. The beans were amazing! The rice was the only thing I did not like but you can tell it was made for all the gringos in town that can't handle real spice. The ambiance was intimate and very small which I like. Not a huge menu which makes it easier to make up your mind. I rather have a dozen items done perfect than a whole bunch of mediocre food.
