The entrance to the restaurant is in the back. We almost left thinking it was closed down. But maybe we should have left. Service was extremely slow. It took a server almost 20 minutes to even offer us water. When she finally came to the table, I told her we were ready to place our order since we had so much time to look at the menu. She said, "Oh wait, I need to grab a pencil and pad." That was a first for me. And then it took her another 5 minutes to come back. I got the steak chimichanga and it looked pretty plain. I was expecting it to be covered with sauce and cheese as I have seen at other places. But this was fine if that's how they normally prepare it. Surprisingly, I enjoyed it. The wrap was nicely fried and stayed intact when I sliced through it. It was also a very good portion size that I ended up saving it for the next day's meal. We waited a bit for our check to come but it did not so we got up and walked to the front in order to pay. And no, it wasn't a pay-at-the-front situation. Cozy little restaurant hidden away behind where Pancho's Wreck used to be, with free parking, friendly staff and very good food. We had the tacos and a burrito and can recommend both. They have also have an outdoor dining area. And did I mention that the margaritas are great? read more

Service was very bad - waiter seemed to forget about us several times. We waited over an hour to get our food and didn't receive any drink refills even after asking. We originally had a reservation for 7pm but things changed to our itinerary and thought we could show up at 6 without any problem! It was crazy busy so we ordered a drink and waited at the bar! Soon a couple of barstools opened up so we decided to grab them! The place was hopping! Lots of energy! The bartender was excellent and very friendly! I ordered the monster burrito with pork and she ordered the shrimp fajitas! Both were excellent and big portions! My wife makes the best salsa but this was very good! We LOVE La Casita. We eat there almost weekly. The food is consistently good, in fact in the last year it's even better. We usually get the same things: Monster Burrito and steak Quesadilla so it has been easy to track the excellent quality of these. I can also give a big shout out to their wonderful fresh mango margarita's. I do my own thing and have them do a combination of salt and sugar on the rim........Fabulous. Even with all the issues pertaining to staffing shortages and supply chain problems La Casita has managed to be reliably open when they say they will be which is saying a lot considering that it's hard to get a meal out on a Tuesday or Wednesday here in the Deerfield Valley. Too bad if one is hungry on those days but again, La Casita is i open. YAY! read more

First time coming here and it was for a bachelorette so we had a reservation. Staff and owner were very friendly they made sure we had plenty of room and were comfortable. You get complimentary chips and salsa to start. One of the specials was Mexican street corn which I love and had to try. I'm glad I did because it was delicious! The seasoning and corn was all made just right! For my entrée I got the pork carnita street taco platter. Everything was good, pork was flavorful and tender. Black beans and rice hit the spot! Everyone in the party enjoyed their food. From fajitas, to quesadillas, to taco salads, no one had any complaints. The portions were a good size and the price was right. Someone was vegetarian and the refried beans are vegetarian so they were happy about that. I got a virgen piña colada which was yummy. And to finish the meal we tried the fried chimichanga cheesecake which was excellent. It's a cute place, nice bar area and they even have some swing chairs. Solid Mexican food with good portions- a good option in this small ski town! We called and ordered takeout on a Sunday night. As a heads up, we called at 6:30 and then they told us they only take takeout orders at certain times so we had to call back at 7:30. A little odd, but no biggie. We called back and they let us know the food would be ready in about 30 minutes. As always, be sure to check your order before you drive away because unfortunately we realized a couple of things were wrong when we got home -- the sweet plantains were missing and the mahi mahi tacos were fried instead of grilled. Everyone was happy with what they ordered. -tacos platters were tasty and hefty portions. 3 tacos came with beans and salad -the burrito was big and filling as well -the veggie quesadilla was tasty- a lot of cheesy and just some pepper and onions inside. My husband and I went here for a date night. The Margarita was good and pretty strong. The food was yummy and they worked with me to accommodate my food intolerances. They don't use cilantro to my surprise (and joy). The chicken was marinated and delicious. The rice had corn in it (which I had to pick out) but the rice itself was also good! Our server Emily was lovely. The service was prompt. The restaurant itself was decorated to theme and was warm and inviting. Really good, remarkably good for a small village like Wilmington. We have been in Wilmington all summer but rarely if ever ate out. This was our first Wilmington dinner. Food was terrific. We had house margaritas, a beer, chips/guac, mahi mahi fajitas and taco salad platter. Too much food, and all delicious. Service was super friendly and warm, a bit slow and scattered. The staff's hustle and positive attitude made up for it. We sat outside because it was a lovely evening and safer due to Covid. We reserved the outside table in advance, glad we did. Good service, good drinks, and the food was good, not bad at all, just really not authentic in any way. Think dinner at Senior Frog's in Cancun. In their defense, it's hard to find truly authentic Mexican food anywhere, let alone in VT. I'd probably classify La Casita as being a little more on the TexMex side of things anyway, and there's nothing wrong with TexMex! All in all, we enjoyed our meal and would eat here again. read more

Awesome food, and ambience. Colored chairs, fun music and the food was excellent! My 11 year old and I were visiting the area for a weekend away and are glad we picked this spot. My daughter had the burrito (and brought half home and finished that night!) and I enjoyed a taco salad (I'm a vegetarian and this hit the spot) with seasonal veggies. We went looking for dinner on a Monday night and stumbled into La Casita. They found us a table and brought corn chips and salsa to snack on while considering the menu. I chose the taco salad, and my wife the beef burrito. The meal was presented with little delay ( surprisingly since the place was relatively busy). The taco salad was fresh and delicious, surprising me with some pickled vegetables along with field greens, cheese and beans ( would have liked some onion too) . The burrito was tasty and generous in proportion. It was a good Mexican dinner at reasonable price and timely service. Thanks for a wonderful meal! Looking for a good dinner out while visiting Brattleboro with my 80 year old mom and my 4 year old daughter they shouted tacos and I searched out La Casita--it was great! The entrance was around the backside and had it not been drizzling I would've enjoyed their patio seating. We opted for a table inside and ate a hearty helping of chips and salsa, mom had a daiquiri and I tried a tequila cocktail. My daughter declared their lemonade the best she ever had in her whole life (being only 4 there are many lemonades she has yet to try, but her enthusiasm for the drink need be noted) we were very happy with our food and the staff was so kind and inviting. Would recommend you visit but I'd probably avoid the swing seats at the bar for fear I'd end up in my ass!!! read more

Super cute hidden gem in a small town! It took awhile to first get water and chips and salsa, but after that our waitress was very attentive. My mom and I got the blackened mahi mahi tacos (3) which were seasoned and cooked perfectly and the toppings were generous and tasty! My dad got the burrito which he said was not the best and lacked some flavor and needed more ingredients. The drinks were also good! They have just a handful of tables and refuse orders, even takeout orders, if those few chairs are full. I don't think they like money. We stopped by with a party of 9 (two families), completely understanding that they were busy and likely would be best to request takeout - so great profit and quick turnaround for them (which I would even leave a good tip). We barely got our foot in the door before several voices from the kitchen barraged us with all the reasons they could not accommodate even a takeout order. Every time we're in the area we try to get to La Casita the food and the service are always great. We've been here before COVID and even now still during it's a great place. It's a hidden gem make it a point to stop in next time your in VT. We had the monster burrito with shrimp which lives up to it's name your definitely not leaving hungry.
