Fried avocado tacos (happy hour deal)
    Bansri P.

Excited to see a new Mexican restaurant open in Hershey! Hole-in-the-wall with great potential. The interior is decorated well and the staff were friendly. As a vegetarian, I was happy to see they offered a vegetarian option for most of their dishes. You can either do fried avocado or cactus (nopales) in place of the meat. I've tried the fried avocado burrito and fried avo tacos. However, I do wish they had vegetable fajitas to add to the vegetarian dishes, instead of just avocado. They don't offer the cactus as an option for the tacos. They also do happy hour every day from 2-5 pm and offer $2.50 tacos (limited options, normally they don't have a vegetarian option on the happy hour taco menu, but they were able to do the fried avocado tacos for me). The portion was small but flavorful. The happy hour deal does not come with any rice or beans. Again, wish they had fajitas to add to the tacos as my tacos came out with just a single slice of fried avocado and pico de gallo on top. Also wish they had more than 1 vegetarian taco option (perhaps the cactus?), as I would have loved to try a variety. The red and green sauces on the side are great. Overall, I hope they expand their vegetarian options and add fajitas in the future, as I would definitely be back more frequently!

Simply WOW . The portion sizes are MASSIVE . I got the carne asada burrito and it was full delicious mouth watering flavor . Make sure you come here hungry if you're going to get the burrito . I followed the burrito up with a fried steak torta . This torta was titanic size. Absolutely delicious . La Catrina is hands down the BEST in Hershey area .

We had a great experience here! The staff were attentive and the food was delicious. Definitely the most authentic Mexican food in Hershey. The portions were massive for the price. Would absolutely eat here again.

Only great burrito I've had in the area since leaving AZ! Absolutely massive. Flavorful fillings. Tasty red and green sauce on the side. Burrito is enough for one very large appetite or two medium sized lunches.

The food was delicious with great portions! The staff was also very helpful and accommodating! Although it is a very small dining area, it is very clean and decorated nicely.

My brother takes her out often and it's usually to a chain restaurant. Mom likes Panera, 5 guys and McDonald's - she's comfortable with these. Not a whole lot of surprises. I'm not a fan of most chains. When I suggest we go somewhere else, mom usually sighs and rolls her eyes. Today was no different - when I pulled into the El Rodeo parking lot, I looked over and of course I saw the look that said that she would rather eat at Panera. I knew she'd come around. There was plenty of handicapped parking but the restaurant doors were pretty heavy and I had to get a little help to get her into the restaurant. The restaurant was empty sans one guy eating at the bar. We were quickly greeted and had our drinks well before we could even look at the menu. We first ordered guac to go with our chips. Very good, but I wasn't a huge fan of the salsa. Mom said she wanted shrimp and to order her something. I ordered her shrimp enchiladas while I ordered the Quesabirria Tacos for myself. Mom really enjoyed her enchiladas. She surprised me when she ate every bit of it. My tacos were wonderful. I know I'm a little odd - my leftovers made a terrific breakfast the next day. And I was right, mom did come around. She said she'd like to come back. I sent my brother the link to El Rodeo's website. He'll be happy for a change of pace. I also added to order mom shrimp enchiladas and guacamole. She's comfortable with that and her being happy is everything.

It was a Monday night so not super busy and we had about 10 people that they were able to seat right away. When we walked in, someone at the bar was getting their birthday celebration lol. The drinks were very good, very large, and strong! I had a jalapeno margarita and then another one with a chambord floater - both delicious! The menu was very large with lots of options but the option I wanted wasn't on there (I really just wanted one enchilada and one chili relleno) - they were not willing to do any substitutions on the combo menu. So I ended up just getting a 2 enchilada platter which was delicious! It was the perfect portion, I cannot do super large portions so this amount was just what I wanted. All of my colleagues also loved their meals, two of them got the fajitas in the pineapple which one of them dubbed "the best Mexican food I've ever had" haha My one colleague trolled another one by telling them it was his birthday so they did the whole birthday celebration for him - sombrero, maracas, singing, and icecream! When the bill came, everything was VERY reasonably priced! We raved so much about this place at the conference that several others went there in the days after that. Who knew Hershey had good Mexican food?? Thanks for the fun times!

Margaritas (both on the rocks and blended) were very good. The blended was smoother than any Ive ever had before. Chips had a strong corn flavor, but the bowl was half full for three people and had enough broken pieces to suggest we'd gotten to the bottom of the bag. The salsa was delicious, with just a hint of heat. Entrees included a Pizza Birria, which was like a quesadilla, but more interesting. The tortilla had a well-cooked look to it, the center layer of braised beef, cheese and onions was thick enough to satisfy even the hungriest. The majority was taken home in leftovers. Another "never before seen" items was the chimichanga -- available soft or fried. What? A chimichanga is a FRIED burrito. If its not fried, its a burrito. Which, soft in this version, looked and was delicious, but I'm still confused. Finally, my Chicken Mole Poblano. So Much Food! And it was yummy! Slightly sweeter than what I'm used to, but trust me when I say I scarfed almost all of it down -- without the tortillas. A great night out, I know more family will visit it this week. I think I'd like to go back.

On a long walk of town on one day of my trip, it worked out that this one was open for lunch and I got to try it. It ended up being a favorite of my visit and I ended up eating here twice. The first time for lunch I stuck to the specials menu and had the chimichanga. It's served with rice and beans, plus fresh veggies and salsas. All salsas and sauces are made homemade and fresh, which is a huge draw of this place. Portion sizes are generous for the price, and flavor was great. Their hot sauces are also homemade: a mild red one and a hot creamy green one. Try both for sure! On the second visit, I had a burrito. I also dined with a friend who was impressed as well. They also have a menu of non-Mexican inspired dishes, so there's something for everyone here. The interior is open and bright, with booths and tables. Both times the server was super friendly and welcoming, very attentive through the visits. Parking is out back.

The environment seemed nice although I didn't eat in. And there was parking in the rear. I am glad Miaa was there for my visit to Palmyra.
