    Shrimp fajitas
    Sapha H.

It was our first time trying this restaurant after always driving past it. Service was great and ambiance was as well - cute decor! The nachos were really good, definitely our favorite and the price wasn't bad for $11. My husband and I split the shrimp fajitas and overall found them to be really salty. The side of rice and beans wasn't very flavorful but we were happy to see how much shrimp came in one order. Definitely enough for 2. We were also surprised that refills for fountain drinks were $1.50 extra. We would definitely come back to order the nachos though.

Nice place! We were a bit early for salsa dancing, but maybe next time! LOL chops and salsa were good, definitely didn't seem like jar salsa. The meal was meh. Just ok. We shared churros for dessert that were mushy in the middle and the dipping sauce was cold and hard. Unfortunately I'd say I have to pass on trying it again, sorry.

Great decor, super friendly staff and owners that really care about their customers. They only drop a star because of how expensive things are, though maybe $22 for fajitas is the new norm? I didn't get a drink because it was double the price of the place we usually go. So we split a steak fajita for dinner and an order of churros for dessert. The food was excellent and we'll definitely be going back. This is definitely our 2nd favorite local place and may become our first because of how close to Cheshire it is.

Went to the preview week opening night of this new restaurant on Meriden Waterbury Tpke in Southington. The vibes and decor are amazing. The margaritas were a little too orangey but were pretty massive. The guacamole is the best in town 100% and the warm chips were perfect with it. The fajitas were tasty, just wish there was more meat for the price! The enchiladas were AWESOME. You can just tell how fresh and homemade the tortillas are and the chicken inside was perfect. The sauce had a little kick to it too. Excited to see this restaurant grow and go back to try some new dishes in a few weeks

Awesome service at this comfy local spot. The drinks were delicious and the food came out very quickly. The aesthetic is very fresh and clean, with lots of color and plants. This was our first visit and we will definitely return.

Nice place not busy at all. Tried going to another place and were turned away with an hour wait. Ended up here not disappointed. The food was tasty but my dish would have been much better as a fresh cool summer dish. I will certainly return to the place.

We love Mexican food, so we tried La Catrina for the first time tonight and thought it was pretty good. We loved the rustic, cozy atmosphere and decor. We each had a drink. Hubby had a lime margarita and I had a Coconut Mojito MOCK-tail. The drinks were tasty, but when the check came, I was surprised that they charged me for a regular Coconut Mojito WITH liquor! I asked the waitress if that was an error, but she said "no, we charge the same whether they have alcohol or not"! I have never paid the same for a mocktail as for an alcoholic cocktail anywhere before! The guacamole, chips and salsa were fresh and tasty. For our meals, my husband had the Enchiladas de Mole and I had the Fajitas. I thought my Fajitas were delicious and tasty. Hubby said the Enchiladas de Mole was okay, but not exciting. I tasted his meal and didn't like it, however ... I had tried mole once before years ago at a different restaurant, and I didn't like it then either, (so maybe I just don't like Mole sauce & maybe he isn't crazy about it, either). Our waitress was pleasant and attentive, although she was the only person there besides the owners, so she had to be bartender, waitress and busboy. She was super busy running around trying to do it all herself. The portions were large, so we had enough to bring home for another meal. We were too full to eat dessert, so we ordered it to go. We got the Flan and the Churros, but haven't eaten them yet, so will have to update later!

Great place! Had a couple different items & enjoyed them all! Waitstaff was great, got busy once we ordered dessert so the kitchen was a bit busy & we had to wait some for dessert but minor compared to the great food & service! Pacifico on tap, horchata....yummm will be back

I told the it was our first time there and the lady taking my order answered some questions I had with a smile. I ordered 1 cow tongue taco, 1 al pastor taco, a kids beef burrito and a steak burrito. The kids burrito is a great deal. You get a choice of a burrito or quesadilla and it comes with fries for 9 bucks. The lady was so humble she didn't even realize they had great reviews online until I showed her. Everything was good with my favorite being the burrito and the cow tongue and my least favorite being the al pastor (not that it wasn't good, it was just ok). The food was ready quickly and they even gave us 2 of their limeades on the house! Delicious btw I highly recommend their homemade limeade. It's so refreshing and sweet and the perfect compliment to the fat is and burritos. The food smelled so good even in the container lol. I'm def going to be a regular here.

Service is always amazing and the menu options offer very traditional Mexican dishes. I have tried their flautas de tinga, tacos, guacamole, taco salads and no dish ever disappoints. They sometimes have desserts on the fridge by the door and I believe they are made by them as well. I tried their tres leches once and OMG. If you order from them and they have tres leches cake try it!! There are a few tables if you wanted to sit there and eat but it is a small place inside so I always order out. They also have some tables set up outside for when the weather is nice so that's a nice option if you just feel like eating there. Highly recommend this spot!!

I should mention that the young man serving us was quite congenial and the entire staff (family?) wished us goodbye as we exited. One more observation, menu prices are quite reasonable.

From the moment we walked in, the place was spotless, welcoming, and full of positive energy. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about the customer experience. The meal started with warm, crispy chips and fresh salsa that had just the right amount of kick. Then came the horchata, and honestly, it might be the best I've had anywhere. Smooth, refreshing, and packed with flavor without being overly sweet. For the main event, we ordered a variety of tacos including the al pastor, chorizo, and lengua. Each one brought something different to the table, but all of them shared the same thing: incredible flavor and quality ingredients. The meats were tender, well-seasoned, and served on tortillas that tasted fresh and authentic. What really surprised me was the cemita. If you've never had one before, this is the place to try it. The bread was soft on the inside with the perfect texture on the outside, loaded with fresh ingredients and flavor in every bite. It was one of those menu items that immediately makes you start planning what you'll order on your next visit. And then there was dessert. The custard-filled churros with cinnamon sugar paired with chocolate ice cream were phenomenal. Warm, sweet, crunchy, creamy--everything you want in a dessert and then some. What stands out most about Hashtag Tacos isn't just the food. It's the consistency, attention to detail, cleanliness, and hospitality. They have tacos (obviously), burritos, quesadillas, fajitas, speciality dishes and they started serving breakfast. Our favorite is the Shrimp Taco. On our last visit we got four! Perfectly fried, crispy shrimp topped with lettuce, pico de gallo, avocado slice and served with lime. We also tried the Chicken Taco, Chicken Tostada, and Carne Asada Tostada. We don't live too far from Hashtag Tacos so our food was still warm. Everything was good and super fresh. They are generous with their taco toppings and filling. The tortillas are homemade and fluffy. The avocados were perfectly ripe. I like their verde salsa the best, but they have a unique, bright orange salsa that has a little kick. We hope to dine in at Hashtag Tacos very soon--if we think takeout is great, the food served hot and fresh at the restaurant has to be even better.
