Absolutely the best cleaners in NYC area. They took my well loved and very dirty wedding dress and made it look brand new. They have our business for life!

My go to place for my tailoring/ seamstress needs! Highly recommend. Had last minute ask to sew feathers on my bday outfit and they did such a wonderful job!!

Updating my review after receiving my wedding dress back. Stains are GONE! omg. Amazing. Highly recommend! Adding photos! I'm going to keep this at a 5 until I get my gown back from cleaning and preservation. After googling best cleaner and preservation spots this place came up with 5 stars and in Brooklyn. It's $150 deposit, and with the amount of details with my gown I was told $400 final cost. I'm only guessing this has to be standard. I hesitated but acquiesce after looking towards the back and seeing other bridal bags hanging. Fingers crossed as it takes at least a month

Here's a photo of the dress they altered for me. The dress is made of very delicate material and they did a great job! Perfect fit :)

I've been here twice to get my bridesmaid dress hemmed. Both dresses were made of very delicate material so I wanted to make sure that I took it to a place that would be very careful and precise in their work. They did a great job altering both dresses! I highly recommend coming here for alterations. I live far away in north Brooklyn but it's worth coming down here for their service. I won't go anywhere else again. They do an amazing job with alterations and their dry cleaning is great too. This is a Good place To go for special clothes that you are too scared to trust any old dry cleaners with. LA cleaners & tailor will take care of you!!

They did a fine job on the alteration itself but when I got this brand new dress back, there were small black dots all over it like it had gotten splashed with ink or something. This is a brand new bridesmaids dress that went straight from the package to this store. When I called about it, I was told there's no way this could've happened at the store. But it was a brand new dress fresh out of the package when it was dropped off. Beware if you're dropping off nice clothing.

just a quick update...the tayloring here is fantastic! The turnaround on work is quick and the quality is top notch. I've had everything from shirts and pants tailored to full suits and sport coats and everything fits great afterwards. Thank you for making sure I looked dapper on the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride this September

I decided to visit La Cleaners based on the reviews here, and they did not disappoint. First, this is not a fancy place, it's a regular dry cleaner shop, but Tony is a very talented tailor, so don't let the "rough around the edges" look deter you. He absolutely knows what he is doing and will make your dress (or suit or other clothing I'm sure) fit you perfectly and look the way you want it to. Tony altered my lace wedding gown - hemmed it, added a bustle, and added sleeves. I had no idea what hemming a lave gown with a train entails, but it is not an easy process. Tony ended up bringing the dress up around my waist and then covering the seam with some extra lace I had purchased. I was really concerned about cutting out a piece of the middle of my dress, to say the least, but trusted Tony's advice and it turned out beautifully. The sleeves were something I had my heart set on, but had several people tell me would cause problems, even Tony said they would be difficult to do. Further complicating the problem, I had only purchased a yard of extra lace, and a bunch of that was being used for the waist hem. Tony worked around all the issues, and carefully conserved the lace so that we had JUST enough to make the cap sleeves I wanted, and do the hem I needed. I definitely had some sticker shock at the price, until I called around a bit and realized the starting cost at most other places was hundreds over his quote. The cost was certainly less than it would have been elsewhere, but making real changes to a wedding dress isn't cheap anywhere. Tony is an expert in his craft and his prices are fair for the quality work he does.

Extended the sleeve on my pea coat. Excellent and quality tailor.

Take in and fit a suit that is too large. They are expensive, but their tailor is super.

Is he a decent tailor? Yes. 90% of the time the work comes back good; sometimes it doesn't but he fixes it if you notice. But no, you shouldn't go to him. There is a reason he doesn't list prices anywhere. He charges as much as he thinks he can get away with charging you. And he talks a really, really big game about how hard the alterations are, and how no one else does them right, and how he can't make any money on his prices. At first he seemed a little pricey, but the work was good, and again, he was nearby, and he was so friendly. After a while I really thought we were becoming real friends, but it was just buttering me up. And like a sucker, I fell for it. I fell for it so hard that I didn't write this review for a long time because I am so embarrassed by how much money this man took me for. The more I went to him, the larger the "discounts" he claimed to be giving me, but I had this feeling that nevertheless the prices kept going up... and up, and up. Eventually he quoted me prices for two overcoat alterations that were too outrageous for me to swallow. I called seven of the most well-reputed menswear tailors in Manhattan, and all of them quoted me half the cost or less. And I know enough about tailoring to ask for exactly the work i need done, and Hussey had explained exactly what he was going to do, and I explained it exactly to the other tailors. I went back to Hussey to get my coats, and he knew exactly why, and barely would speak to me as he told me not to come back. I now take my work to Wazin Custom Tailors in midtown. They take half as long to do your measurements, they charge has as much, their work is flawless, and they have it done fast, on the day they said they would. Maybe you'll have a different experience, maybe he won't see you as a mark, but he may will smile to your face, butter you up, and rip you off, like he did to me. At least go one block further up Washington to the guy who has his prices posted on the wall. Other things to know: he will take as long to do your work as you let him. It won't be done when he says. It'll only be done when you call or come by multiple times to tell him you need it. Also, if you go there in the evening, you will see his shop is completely infested with clothes moths. I'm still trying to get them out of my warddrobe.

She worked her magic on a particularly complicated bustle job, which she also color-coded super clearly so it was easy to tie up without her help - my planners were admiring it while bustling me, saying that they'd never seen such a nice job before. Amanda is also super chill/calm and down to earth, which was a welcome change from the energy of the bridal dress shop scene and the general wedding planning frenzy. 10/10 would recommend!

Her office space is in Gowanus so pretty easy to get to and if you drive, there are usually a couple parking spots in front. She comes down to open the door and bring you up to the studio and then you take off your shoes upon entering. She always had a great playlist going which I hum or sing to. She has a great mirror to showcase your dress and showed me both style options for a bustle. I had her add an American bustle and take in the straps a bit and because my wedding was a month away, we scheduled a follow up appointment two weeks out. She color coded the bustle to make it super easy and we had one more try on. With the deposit, it was about $300 total which is on par with what I had done. She tailors other women's clothes as well so I have a feeling I'll be coming back for all my tailoring needs. She does not tailor menswear.
