My husband and I tried this little hole in the wall mom and pop restaurant. Everyone was super nice the place was super clean and every few minutes the waiter was making sure we were ok. My husband and I both tried the chilaquiles . He order red chilaquiles with carne with a green juice which was so fresh and healthy! I had their chilaquiles divorsados with red and green sauce and a coffee and my own green juice to go! For all of this was only $30! We left happy and full. Oh and the bathrooms were really clean. This humble little restaurant, walking distance from Hotel Corona! The food & service was as if you were at home with this family, great homemade food, with hospitality of old fashioned family values. And we saw Abuela & Abuelito- I think(?). Grandson welcoming, seating, serving & cleaning up. The food again was delicious and homemade. The restaurant is not very large, however very accommodating. They had boxing on when we went and they serve micheladas among beer & other drinks. Those complaining about it being overpriced, really how then should they earn to live on offering cheaper prices? We thought the prices were reasonable & maybe appropriate for being a full service restaurant & not a typical taco stand out on the side of the road. And if you find cheaper like this LA, highly doubt it's a full service restaurant unless it's a size of a closet like those deep in LA. Love this little spot in the corner. Food is amazing, service is attentive, and in a great area. I ordered chilaquiles enmolados (mole sauce), + egg + chicken + side order of Mexican rice. Drink: Horchata. Let meee tell you, grandma was definitely back there cooking. Tasted like home. This place knows authenticity. Flour tortillas and food, freshly made. Side note I tend to be disappointed with how some restaurants cook mex rice but as soon as I tried their chilaquiles I knew I'd hit jackpot. A new fav. Saw this place as we drove toward the downtown area when we arrived to Rosarito. I think it was the name that made me feel like we had to check it out, after all, abuelas usually cook bomb! So, the next day we had breakfast here and I'm glad I went with my instinct! I ordered the chilaquiles divorciados (green and red salsa) with carne asada (chopped up) and sunny side eggs. Comes with a side of refried beans and a potato patty. Oooooh weeee!!! ONLY con is I asked if their coffee was café de olla, was told it was, but it was NOT. No cinnamon flavor, nor was it sweetened. THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. Grandma actually cooked our food. Every member of the staff was very kind to us and patient with our next to no knowledge of Spanish. I can say with certainty this was THE best meal we had in Rosarito and I am so glad we stopped in. Every part of the meal from the chips and salsa to the main orders was absolutely delicious. I only wish we had saved room for dessert. Definitely a must-stop on my Mexican Food List now! Definitely stop in. You won't be disappointed! read more

Very small place. We stopped as it was the only place to find parking directly outside. I was craving pozole for breakfast and was disappointed as it was very bland, just a few small pieces of meat and a bowl full of hominy. My husband had menudo and he was very sure it was out of a can. It looked just like Menudo Juanita's from the can. Flour tortillas are also from a bag, husband saw last take out a new bag and heat up the tortillas. You are served out of styrofoam bowls, cups and plastic spoons and forks. It's a nice homey place. The food is authentic and the service is prompt. Our orders didn't blow us away at all. We've had better breakfast at home. But it was a nice little place. Got their chilaquiles on back-to-back days. Very good. The waitress spoke English which was helpful for a dumb gringo like me :) Service was very good and the kitchen looked clean. My only small complaint would be the coffee. It's kinda weak. Not sure if they are using instant coffee or what but it needs an upgrade. read more

I was pleasantly surprised the Cheese Enchiladas were delicious very tasty sauce like the one we make at home.

A wonderful establishment that had vegan and vegetarian options, and were able to modify other menu items as well to fit these diets. The beans and rice are not cooked in animal fat! I could give this 0 stars if I could. Waitress took forever for half of our drinks, one of our meals were incomplete (there was supposed to be meat on the plate and there wasn't any). Ate there in July 2017. Save your money. The food is beyond awful. I repeated our order to the waitress at least 5 times. . My son ordered a machaca burrito no tomato, no onion, no peppers. It came with all the above.. My little girl ordered one egg. It came burnt crispy from the bottom and raw from the top. .The sopes are the size of silver dollars and are MOSTLY lettuce. They came without cheese or any other topping that sopes usually come with. The machaca ranchera is anything but. It is shredded beef. The waitress brought us chilaquiles instead of enchiladas and seemed upset that we told her we did not order them. Everything was FLAVORLESS even the rice.
