Reasonably priced, high quality food. Cash-only; I recommend paying in pesos as their US dollars price didn't match. I got the chilaquiles de mole con pollo for (mole chilaquiles with chicken) for $135 pesos and it was an abundant portion for one person. My server was polite and recommended the mole when I asked about chilaquiles. This spot is a short walk to the beach and walking distance from most hotels. They have quite a large dining area and outside seating as well - I wanted to sit outside but there were flies so I ended up inside in the traditionally decorated dining area. Some reviews talk about their caldo de pollo that comes with entrees. Note that this doesn't apply to the chilaquiles.

This place is cash only. We have been coming here for over 19 years and I always order the same thing. Pollo con mole plate that comes with a small soup and a sweet tamal. The boy orders his chicken nuggets that come with fries which he never eats instead he will grab a handmade tortilla and wrap his nuggets in it. Rdawg ordered a chicken soup this time, he had no luck with a beef soup this time they ran out. Oh and he always order his huitlacoche quesadilla which is a quesadilla with corn fungus. My café de olla was a cup of hot sugar, I don't know why I continue to order café de olla thinking it will be authentic and delicious. It never is. The orange juice was good. We will continue to come back there are other delicious items on the menu and everyone here is nice. Only issue was getting my child's wheel chair in the restroom, I had to carry him in the space was right.

    Three mole enchiladas plate

Was in the mood for mole and this place popped up on the list of places in Rosarito. They definitely had a good amount of plates with mole. Some sounded the same, but there were a few variants in the plates. I opted for the plate that had three different moles because I did want to taste the difference between the moles. Two were red and one was green. I really enjoyed the darker red mole. It was more on the sweeter side than the other red mole. We went hungry to the restaurant, and came out super stuffed. When you order an entree, they give you a soup first. It is like a chicken soup with fresh handmade tortillas. It was pretty good but don't eat too much or you won't eat your entree. We also ordered an appetizer and the portion was huge! It could've been an entree in itself. lol. The food came, which was good and then at the end, they bring you a sweet tamale to have for dessert. We were not expecting the soup or the tamale at the end so by the time we left, we were so full. All in all, our waiter was amazing. Very attentive and charming. The location was very festive with Christmas decor and music. I don't know what the location normally looks like, but overall, it is a very well kept restaurant and it's good food.

Great service with some English speakers. The food is out of this world we've had several types of moles and their chicken soup. We take home every time we go. It's really tasty! The ambience is nice and clean and with a Mexican style. Casual but I wouldn't go in a bathing suit. There is a parking lot you can park for free

Every year that I come to Rosarito with my family, I love visiting this place. I love their Nativity Scene and I love how beautifully is decorated during Christmas. Their cafe de Hoya is the best I have ever tasted. I love the tortilla soup too. My husband ordered the sopes and they were okay . The chicken needed more flavor, it tasted sooo much like chicken, it needed tomato or some spice cooked with it. Service was great, just that we had to wait for a food a little longer.

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The place is very clean and the decor is beautiful inside. I recommend this restaurant 100 percent you will not be disappointed.

This restaurant is simply amazing. A must try when you visit Rosarito. The decor is gorgeous and traditional. The service is great and friendly. When you order "enchiladas de mole" you get a complimentary chicken soup and a pineapple coconut tamal for dessert. I was pleasantly surprised by this place! Make sure you have cash as they do not take credit or debit cards.

Our first time here and we couldn't be happier. We had a big day of eating ahead of us so we just shared two chilaquiles plates. One with chicken and mole and one with beef and green salsa. Both were delicious. The tortillas still had a crisp to them. The meats were tender. The mole was amazing. We highly recommend.

Great find! Our family of five walked in off the street at 9:30 a.m. and were seated at a patio table. We ordered a plate of chilaquiles with mole and a fried egg, another chilaquiles with green sauce and a fried egg, a carne asada huarache, a bowl of caldo de res and chorizo and potato quesadilla. The waiter quickly returned to inform me that the soup wasn't ready yet (bummer, but understandable since it was early), so I ordered another chilaquiles with mole. My wife and her sister are both light eaters and we tend to share our food, especially at new places. I should have ordered the chilaquiles with red sauce, so that we could sample the sauces. Negatives: - The mole is too sweet for me (but I tend to think most food is too sweet, skipping dessert almost always). I wish it had more spice to it. - The eggs, ordered over easy, were all fried hard. We should've ordered them sunnyside up. Positives: - The chorizo quesadillas were amazing! - My son powered through the huarache like a champ. No complaints from the complainer! - The salsa verde on my wife's chilaquiles was bright and clean. Lots of flavor with a little spice, the way she likes it! I like more spice and luckily they picante sauce on the table did the trick. - The beans were perfect...just enough lard to smooth them out without overdoing it. Cotija sprinkled on top properly. - The portions were plentiful. The women barely ate half of their plates and I couldn't finish mine! (Rarity) - The space is clean, quiet and homey. - Service, as expected in Mexico, was excellent. Breakfast (with non-alcoholic drinks) for five = $19 Please, tip generously. CASH ONLY.

Nutshell: Great service, terrific food, would totally come back here again! We ordered the molé chicken, molé enchiladas, huarache, and molotes. Kids got a chicken tamalé and chorizo quesadilla. (We originally ordered the chicharron quesadilla but were very sad when they told us they couldn't make it for us.) The molé entrees came with delicious chicken soup with fresh onions and lime slices and a dessert tamale (coconut). Everything was good but the molotes were especially good! The service was attentive and timely. We had a strange moment when a small piece of the ceiling fell onto our table probably from the heavy rain from last night. They were quick to offer us a new table and refreshed our chicken soups. If you like molé that is on the slightly sweeter side (what I like), this place is for you. I would come back here in a heartbeat. Bonus: they had this epic Christmas scene, nativity and other miniatures and all, that is worth a visit to see!

My family & I have been coming here for YEARS! I loved coming here as a child because they have a playground in the back for the kids to play with (it's just not open now because of covid). But now as an adult I love it here! I crave their caldo de pollo all the time and there is no place to get it right than here! The menu is available in both English & Spanish and it's through a QR code which was super unexpected but nice! They are way more covid compliant than anyplace I've eaten during the pandemic. You are temp tested upon arrival and the table and chairs are wiped down in front of you. Every waiter is wearing a mask and face shield. The service is always great, never have to worry about that here. They offer dine in and to go options. My favorite thing on the menu is the giant caldo de pollo but their Chile Reno's are to die for. If your a fan of mole this is your place to go! I personally don't like mole but I'll eat a plate from here because it's that good! The price range is very affordable especially for getting a three course meal with any of their entrees. You get a small caldo de pollo to start, your meal, and you get the most delicious tamales de pina for dessert! The whole point of this review is to just GO! It will satisfy your need for Mexican food!

    Huarache!

Came here on 5/01/19 with a couple of family members. Tried their mole chilaquiles, huitlacoche quesadilla and a huarache de chorizo. Not a big fan of sweet or semi-sweet mole. Although for those who are trying it for the first time it'll be a good choice to start. Chilaquiles must be spicy with queso, onion and oregano to top it off. This chilaquiles are from Oaxaca and I'm used to them michoacano style. The huitlacoche quesadillas was a bit cold maybe it sat waiting to be brought out together with all the plates in my table. Wouldn't try em again. The cheese they used didn't pair well with the Mexican truffle The huarache was actually delicious! Warm corn tortillas smothered with beans and chorizo which I paired with their molcajete salsa and it was bomb.com Service was great. Place was clean and spacious. Friendly service. I'd recommend this place if you like eating sweet. Stay hungry my friends

They also give you a salsa de aceite thats SPICY but good Now let me tell you, the margaritas were top notch. You can tell it's made with fresh limes and you can order them without feeling over-sugared. I even got one to go lol I had the salmon tacos and they were good, good mix of veggies and salmon. Rice and beans were better than your average "mexican plate" beans and rice. Service was overall good, quick to serve drinks and food, and got the orders correct. We ordered simple plates, chilaquiles, a panela sandwich and a machaca burrito and had to wait 45 minutes to get the food. Chilaquiles were so soggy and the machaca in the burrito was dry. And before getting our food they gave us two bowls of chips and flour tortillas very salty by the way, we will definitely not be coming here again. The quality of the food is not worth the weight.
