The food here is authentic. The café con leche was so good. I ordered another one to go. The first one was so hot, I had to wait a few minutes to drink it, but I love my coffee really hot. The bf had 3 taquitos de pollo. He ate it all. I had a baleada that was huge. I forgot to take pictures because I love Honduran food and was so excited finding an authentic Honduran place. I ordered the tajadas con pollo frito. It was a very large plate. I barely ate anything off of it. It had about 3 or 4 pieces of fried chicken. So delicious! Absolutely delicious food!! Very fresh and tasty! My favorite gringo even loved it so we'll definitely be returning to this quaint and authentic restaurant to try more dishes. Do not go to this place. I ordered food via phone 30 mins before I got there. Once I went to pick up my food it wasn't made. Fine, I waited a bit longer after a long day at work. I went on to ask how much longer what's taking so long? The owner went on to say this isn't a fast food restaurant where we sell fast food ( but yet it's been 45-50mins wait) and went on to say I can go elsewhere if I like. Very poor customer service. This place is legitimate. Large portions, fair prices, wide selection. The menu is authentic, leaning towards Honduran fare. You'll find papusas, baleada, plantains, soups and other items you don't often see on menus at other Latin restaurants. There is a hot food bar at lunch, choose one meat and three vegetables for 7.50 if you're in a rush. I live in NOLA and may have to make the drive out here just to get some grub again. read more

Amazing food, very authentic. As is typical of places like this, only 1 person speaks English and orders are taken by pointing. Water will rarely be refilled and, since everything is made fresh, it takes awhile to get your food. The food here is amazing!!! I have never ordered anything I didn't like, however that is the only good thing about this place. The employees are rude and will ignore you. If you don't speak Spanish you are pretty much screwed, and if you order takeout always double the wait time because they always tell you 20 minutes even though it's probably an hour. There has been many times when I have left so frustrated saying to myself I would never go back, but the food really is that great. Oh and parking is terrible. read more

B) if you order a shrimp dish you get a dish of shrimp with vegetables, not a dish of vegetables with some shrimp. c) especially if you are headed west on I10 and are facing many miles on a bridge with no food in sight, this is in a great location. read more

My girlfriend is from Honduras and I am white. We have gone with her family a few times and the service was fine and I really find the food just awesome here. However, whenever it is just me and her we are treated with insulting service. One time we walked in and the place was empty so we ordered some baleadas to go. 5 or 6 Spanish people walked in after us and they each got their food before we did. My girlfriend called the waitress out on it and all she said was I'll go have them start your food. So the food is fantastic but if you are not Spanish or do not plan on going with a Spanish family I really cannot recommend the place. read more

The food is excellent. But warning... no one there speaks english! not even the servers. If you don't speak Spanish, you will likely get frustrated. I asked for chicken Taquitos, even said pollo, yet i got rice and beans with a salad. I had to look up the yelp and show them a picture for them to finally get it. Food is good. I think for anyone wanting Honduran Food then this could be a good place for. For overall latin cuisine, there is no diversity here as far as flavor. You will find the food better than most local Central American restaurants, not to mention their more than generous dish portions. Ordered Carne Asada, Chuletas and Baleadas. Beef somewhat ok, could be a little more tender, but ok for the price you are paying. Chuletas were deep fried, and over cooked. Baleadas were larger than your average one from local latin eatery, but could use a little more "crema and frijoles" and less eggs to really give it a 5 star. Place is not fancy, and the type of clientele is your average latino you won't find eating at a local fancy restaurant. Very noisy and crowded atmosphere. Will definitely come back and try more dishes from the menu. Prices are very good, portions are very generous. I would choose this place over too many overrated latin restaurants that charge you more with much lesser food portions. read more

Horrible. This chick was totally rude and impatient with me as I was reading the menu. AND I asked if they had Tropical -a common soda of Central America- and she said no, but a few minutes later I see 5 bottles of the banana flavor being brought out to the table next to me. We got a taste of delicious Honduras cuisine that was made to order. A quick tip however it does take on an estimate about 20-25 minutes to get your food. However it is worth the wait. I ordered their breakfast tortillas filled with cheese, beans and cream and oh my so so good! My husband ordered the breakfast tortillas filled with egg, avocado, cheese and cream and he was delighted as well. The wait staff was really friendly and spoke decent English. We will definitely go back if ever in NOLA. read more

Visiting NOLA and found this place. Being Latin, this is what I cook at home for breakfast but in Raleigh there is nothing which compares. We're staying in Kenner so we wanted someplace close. The food was very authentic, service friendly, coffee not so good to me but my husband loved it and he drinks a lot of it. Lots of food with your order. Not a fancy place but the food is good! This is an awesome restaurant. I Yelped this place while on business in NOL and glad I did. Every time I travel to NOL, I visit. I have never ever in my life experienced such service, or lack of it. We can in on a Wednesday morning, probably 3 more tables with clients. We sit down and after 5-7 minutes I ask if service is on the table or if we have to approach the counter. A minute later one of the six Latin women from behind the counter shows up, no uniform, and takes our order. 10 minutes later I get up to see how long more we had to wait and I see the 6 women plus 2/3 more in the kitchen chatting in different groups but no food being prepared. It turns out they had forgot to prepare our breakfast or the waitress didn't pass the ticket to the others. Unbelievable. No apologies. We walked out and they kept chatting. read more

The food was great but there service sucks. There was 6 women working in the front and I called in my order 25 mins before coming to pick it up and no one ask me if I called or order. After 20 mins waiting I ask one of the ladies there if my food was ready and it was just seating there and NO ONE took time to ask what I order. To me it was before I was black and its true because there was people coming in after me and there food was in the same area where mine was and NO ONE took there time to see if my food was there until I ask the lady. I found this place by driving randomly down Veterans at 9:30 pm after arriving on a late flight. Don't be intimidated by the strip mall ambiance; don't worry if you don't habla Espanol. The menu is in English and Spanish, and the wait staff are all very friendly. Smiling and pointing will get you past any confusion (although my waitress's English was fine). I plowed into flavorful carne asada, pickled habeno-onion relish, homemade tortillas, rice, charros beans, sweet-salty fried plantains, and a lettuce, tomato, and avocado salad with a crema-style salad cream dressing - all for $10. Was it the best cut of beef, the cleanest tables, the fanciest interior? Heck no. Did Mama's kitchen stuff me like a starving tucker? Heck yes. The late-night crowd was all families, college students, and late shift workers watching the football game. I have definitely added this to my roster of non-tourist-food filling stations. read more
