Looking for good Italian in Paris? And why not? Again, on recommendation, we tried this restaurant. Owner speaks French and Italian, we speak English but we ate a most delicious meal to rival any Italian restaurant in Chicago or its suburbs. This restaurant is tucked down a little alley, so you have to watch for the opening or you might easily pass it by. Our every need was graciously met and we were a hit because we frequently heard the owner telling other patrons, "Chicago." It was obvious that everything was homemade including the pasta. We were recommended this restaurant ages ago by Genevieve who used to run Chantal Thomass opposite and have been meaning to eat here for some time, but somehow never got round to it. Finally we went last Thursday for lunch...sooo glad we did, it's superb and it's now added to our list You can make it as expensive or reasonable as you wish. The service was excellent and friendly. Good balance in the menu. Looks like you have to book as people were being turned away...not surprisingly Difficult to find....stand with your back to Colette, look diagonally across the road....look up and there's a small sign, above a tiny alleyway Meal for 2...delicious pasta each, shared wonderful lemon meringue pie and the Gorgonzola, 2 double espresso, 2 glasses of wine and a 50cl carafe of rouge...just over 70€....ok not cheap but you're full and it's yummy Since we were going to Gourmets des Ternes in the evening we did not overindulge To return!!! read more

We arrived at 11 for lunch and was advised they don't open until noon. We went and walked around the Orangerie museum and came back. Lots of customers inside speaking Italian and French, but the waiter spoke some English. He helped us to translate the specials menu and we ordered the Linguine Vongole with Scampi and the Rigatoni with Sausage. I loved the sauce for the sausage dish, it was really delicious and we couldn't stop dipping the bread in it. The linguine dish was good, you could really taste the seafood broth in the sauce and it came with 2 large prawns. The only drawback was that each of our pastas cost 24 euros. So definitely a high priced lunch. read more

My wife and I stopped here for dinner on a busy Friday night without reservations. The owners let us to a table in the backroom and we had the best Italian dinner I have had in a very long time. Hidden gem, but we found it. Excellent Italian food on the Rue Saint Honore in Paris. It is very small and you need reservations but well worth it. White tablecloths and cozy inside, they are authentic and very pleased to see you. The menu is not extensive but we had quite a few dishes and all were very well prepared, al dente and delicious. The price is right, too, no sticker shock here. Waitstaff was attentive and unobtrusive and they never rush here. So make the reservation and enjoy. Take the time to walk the Saint Honore neighborhood as they have some lovely and unique shops as well. By the way, this was in a courtyard, and if your not looking, you will pass it up. A fabulous Italian restaurant nestled into the 'high rent' district of Rue St Honore. Actually difficult to find as you must enter a small courtyard to enter- we walked right past it without ever noticing. I would recommend a reservation as every table was packed when we arrived with patrons of various nationalities, and at least 1/2 or more of the crowd was French- and its always positive to see locals eating at restaurants in this area. We dined upon very fresh pasta, veal, delicious salads, and dessert. The meal was as good or better than any Italian restaurant we frequent at home in SF. Everything was wonderful- and I found the prices reasonable as well, and this is not always the case in this district. I will make a point of returning when in Paris again... read more

This is an authentic Italian restaurant, serving fresh, Italian cuisine focusing on many traditional meat and fish dishes from Italy. This is NOT a tourist trap. In fact, it's not that easy to find unless you are looking for it (and the owners like it that way). I recommend a reservation as this place gets packed for lunch around 1pm . We came in at 12:45 and were seated in the back room as we had no reservations. By 1:30, the place was busy with locals, which is always a good sign. The owner speaks Italian and French, and is a total character. We had lobster and seafood pasta, fresh bruschetta (with a healthy serving of fresh mozzarella), and veal. Each dish was freshly made, well seasoned, and a good size. If you want to take a break from the usual French faire in the middle of Paris, few places do it better than this one. read more

We found La Corte after filling up on French food. It's hidden in a courtyard, off the street, in the high rent district of Saint-Honore. We got a last minute reservation and arrived as the restaurant was opening (around 7:30pm). We were welcomed in by the owner, who was from southern Italy. My wife is Italian and they hit it off, so he hung out with us chatting and walked us through the menu. We ordered bruschetta to start, which was excellent (as was the bread they served). My wife ordered the calamari entree, served in a savory red sauce. I had the seafood pasta, which was full of shellfish and cooked to perfection (al dente--not overcooked). As the place started filling up quickly, the servers got a little overwhelmed, which was the only drawback to an otherwise great experience. Highly recommend this place if you tire of French food. If you decide to eat here, keep in mind it's very hard to find so you may want to map it. It's literally in an unmarked courtyard off the main street. Enjoy. read more

This is a tough one for me to review because most of the experience was good. However, they served two of us a porcini mushroom pasta that should never have been offered. The mushrooms were old and no longer sufficiently fresh to be restaurant fare. On the other hand, the calimari were great, the other pastas I tried were quite yummy, and their cappuccino is excellent. They did not charge us for the porcini pasta disaster, but they should not have served it in the first place. read more

Just off Rue St Honore on Rue St Roch, and an easy walk from the Louvre, but with a local, not a tourist clientele. Got there w/o a reservation at 12:45 pm, and got a friendly welcome and a ringside table. By 1:30, the place was packed. No formule, so ordered two entrees (legumes grilles de maison, carpaccio con parmigiano) and one pasta (rigatoni matriciana). All three dishes super, and more than adequate for two persons. 58 euros covered this , plus wine and coffee. read more

Excellent meal! I would say that it was one of the best I've had in Paris so far. The atmosphere was that of a small family restaurant in Naples. I was told that the place was booked for the night but the French eat late. Many of them do nor even begin to think about dinner until 9 or 10 at night. Knowing this I was at the door when it opened right at 7:30 and the owner kindly sat me before his evening rush. I had a delicious endive salad with a nicely balanced vinaigrette with loads of shaved Grana Romana cheese. This was followed by a delicious veal parmesan served in a delicate cream wine sauce with a wonderful accompaniment of a la dente penne topped by an assertive but not over powering red sauce. I felt this restaurant was "locals only". From the start the service was poor to us. Others received the "fresh " menu but not us. We ordered dinner and a nice bottle of wine. Bright lights and really hard to tell if the food was good because the service was so poor. Not horrible but we have had a much better experience in Paris. we are staying at the westin a very short walk to la corte. i happened to pass by earlier today and saw the sign. being an italophile i walked in around noon. very cute so i booked. food was great and the owner a great guy from napoli. since we speak some italian we had a dialogue during the whole dinner...very entertaining....reasonable..two prosecco's to start, two wonderful artichoke salads, my pasta tagliatelle with fungi porcini...my wife homemade gnocchi with pesto...two glasses of wine...88e.... read more
