Looked for a good place while walking back from downtown Paris and this place popped up on recommendations. Turned up without a reservation and they were pretty busy. The place is small, super cute and everyone is tightly packed in but still comfortable. It's a fabulous restaurant. We waited with a drink at the bar for about 10min before we were seated. Our table was in the corner and have a great view of the space. We ordered several dishes from the menu as well as some wine, which was a very good Montepulciano. We had probably one of the most delicious and spectacular Italian meals in a long time. The food was outstanding, the service excellent and the ambience was perfect. If you're in the Marais/Bastille area, do yourself a favour and go here. You will NOT be disappointed. read more

What a lovely little find in the Bastille area of Paris. A neighborhood bistro serving authentic Italian. We shared an artichoke appetizer and a bottle of montopulciano. Then I had the truffle cream pasta and neal had the pasta with fresh tomatoes and garlic. Bo were delicious. We finished off our meal with an amazing pana cotta with caramel. Absolutely wonderful. Our server was a very seeet, young Italian woman who helped us understand the menu. Where to start. Had to wait 30 minutes for a table, but the gentleman served us wine and olives while we waited. When we got our table, the whole team helped us in (we have a 1 year old, bags from shopping and a stroller). The food...sea bass amazing, pasta was amazing, mousse was unbelievable. Our Concierge at Villa Beaumarchai suggested Le Petit Italien for dinner and it was fantastic. The food was excellent and it is located on a quiet side street, and is an ideal place for couples and families. The staff was attentive, jovial and helpful, and I can recommend it to anyone. read more

We arrived in Paris today and were in the neighborhood after taking a Macron baking class a block from Le Petit Italien. We walked into the restaurant when it opened at 7pm without a reservation and we were seated right away for a table of 5. The staff was very friendly and the service was great. I have celiac and need to eat gluten free. They were very accommodating and ensured me they had gluten free pasta and it would be prepared carefully to best avoid cross contamination. My penne pasta with homemade pesto sauce was fantastic. The burrata salad was a nice portion and delicious. My kids all enjoyed the spaghetti. I would highly recommend Le Petit Italien. Hopefully our other meals will be just as good during our week stay in Paris. read more

Loved this restaurant! Didn't make reservations but after reading the reviews we decided to pop in right after they opened. They were able to accommodate us and were very kind. Staff spoke english and we felt well cared for. Food was also very yummy! I couldn't read the menu so i chose blindly and was pleasantly surprised. This restaurant is also very nicely decorated and has beautiful twinkly lights that make for a nice atmosphere. Would definetly be a nice romantic spot. Is a little more on the expensive side but why not splurge when in Paris! read more

Staying in Paris passed by this place on the way to my digs in the car. I checked them on yelp and found they are connected to Le Petit Marche (French food) on the other corner. I was itching for some authentic Italian so I dropped in. They were very sweet as I was undecided to sit outside or inside - I chose inside because of the nice decor - but outside was nice - they even have plenty of overhead heaters to keep you comfy warm. They start out with an offering of marinated olives to snack on while you look the menu over. The menu is good - however , kind of limited . They also offer a daily menu choice. This is not a spaghetti and tomato sauce or lasagne type menu. They offer veal , fish, ravioli , shrimp scampi and more along that lines . We opted for the 4 cheese ravioli and Veal scallopini Milanese . The Ravioli dish was outstanding . Fresh made pasted , homemade and stuffed with cheese and spinach and covered in a 4 cheese mixture sauce - while the veal was breaded - tender and expertly seasoned and prepared serves with a side of spaghetti with tomato sauce. Basket of fresh made bread served with meal. The staff , amazingly helpful to my not so good French and very friendly - reminding me of similar experiences in Italy, they make you feel as if you are at home. Top the meal with some nice wine and a dessert. The decor is very replicated Italian and nice. I do wish they would add some more spaghetti dishes (ragu, meat sauce) but I am sure you can find something to your liking and my guess it will be amazingly good like everything we tried. I made a reservation via Fork for dinner for two tonight over a month ago at le Petit Italien and received an online confirmation then and earlier today. Went there tonight and they said they did not have my reservations and were having issues with Fork and reservations. Regardless, the restaurant was 1/2 full and they said it'd be another 30 minutes before they could seat us. We decided to go elsewhere. I feel the host made a big mistake in not owning the issue and honoring our reservation even after we showed them our reservations. To a place we've been going to every year when in Paris, we'll take our business elsewhere. read more

Good place, good food, good folks, okay prices, and a nice ambiance. The waiter and barkeep were having fun, looked after us, and gave us a free appertif (sp?). It worked for us, since thus far- it is the closest thing that I can imagine Italian food might taste like. Probably my first review without complaints. I think they had a little fun with our language barrier, but in good humor. They treated us like old friends, very cozy atmosphere, good portions, and I highly recommend it. Finding somewhere to eat in paris on a Sunday evening without reservations is TRICKY! I had a bunch of places written down by area that I would like to try, but most of them were closed or mega slammed so that we couldn't get a table without a reservation for the 6 of us. After wandering around for what felt like forever and being turned away from numerous places, we came across this gem (whilst on the way to another bookmarked restaurant). It's on the corner of a side street just off a busy boulevard - I don't know whether that makes it a local hidden away neighbourhood bistro or not, but it sure felt like one on this Sunday evening (even though it was full of Americans bizarrely - maybe it has made it onto a recommended food blog or something...I don't know) It's a really small space inside and despite it being close to 10pm on a Sunday night with an absolutely slam packed restaurant, we still managed to get a table for 6 of us with next to no wait. My boyfriend gave his nicest smile to the waiter and miraculously managed to open up a table for us! but actually the whole time that we were there, not one group that came to the restaurant were turned away - quite a few of these walk ups had to wait at the (very small) bar for their table, but they were all eventually seated, which was really quite impressive. The lady who served us might have been the owner and she was great - so friendly and lovely. there were only 3 serving staff on the night that we were there and they were all ridiculously busy, but this place ran like a smooth ship. Once we placed our orders (there was quite a delay with this initially but that was okay because like I said, this place was BUSY!) the drinks and food were pretty quick to come. The bottles of red and rose wine that we ordered for the table were both absolutely delicious - the reds on the menu tended to be more expensive - our bottle was 26 euros compared to the bottle of rose for 18. It was one of the best reds I had the whole holiday though, so no complaints from me here! I wish I could remember the name of it... We ordered the bruschetta for the table - there were two different types, so we went for both. One was a mozzarella and capers affair I believe and it was good, but the star of the show was the gorgonzola and aubergine - absolutely delicious! Even my dad who apparently doesn't "like" gorgonzola wolfed this down. the bruschetta was 9 euros each, but was a very hearty portion so definitely worth the money. For my main dish I ordered the linguine fruits de mar - so delicious! At 20 euros, it was a pricey option, but the quality of ingredients was so high, and the service we received so good that I didn't mind paying this. I wouldn't pay this every evening for dinner, but every so often, sure - why not? My dining companions were all more than happy with their choices - the four cheese ravioli went down particularly well - a magnificently glorified mac and cheese essentially! As with most good Italian restaurants, the portions here are not massive, but definitely enough to keep you satisfied (actually, more than satisfied). I'm so happy we came across this restaurant (and that we were turned away from all the others that we tried) - it really was a gem. I don't think it has been open too long in its current capacity, so I really wish this place the best of luck - the sheer hard work and effort put in by the guys and girl working there should ensure that it does! read more

Just around the corner from popular Grazie, my fiance and I stumbled in here one night when everywhere else was booked up. SO glad we did -- the atmosphere is cozy (perfect for a date), the food is standard but filling Italian -- but what really made Le Petit Italien memorable is the manager! She is feisty and sharp, warm and hospitable, and treated us to limoncello at the end of our meal. I live in Paris and every time I come back with friends the manager is there, joking with us, making us laugh and pouring us generous shots of limoncello. In all the time I've lived here, the service here is the most memorable. Though the limoncello and tiramisu are a close second! read more

I had high expectations after hearing "Le Petit Marché" had bought what was already a pre-existing italian joint on the corner at the other end of the block. I figured a good test would be gnocchi - they were *perfect* in a delicious red sauce. Everyone was jealous. We found this little gem around the corner of the place where we stay in Paris. The food was so delicious, pasta cooked perfectly and very tasty, the fish was grilled with a little crunch on the outside, soft and tender on the inside. I do not write many reviews, but if you are like me you want to know what is best in a restaurant. Tonight I had the best meal in my 4 nights in Paris. I shared the tortellini de pesto as an entree which was excellent, Then I had the sea bass which was the best I've ever eaten. It was a bit grilled and flavorful. My spouse had the veau de limone (veal picatta) and she was quite pleased. And then the chocolate mousse !! The smoothest I have eaten and I have ordered mousse each of my 4 nights here. Relying on a review from Yelp, we decided to try this restaurant with our 3 kids (aged 10, 7 and 5). Not only was the food fantastic, the service was phenomenal. The staff accomodated our kids by serving them pasta with a simple sauce and one with butter without any fuss or attitude. My husband and I had pasta for our entrees as well which were delicious. They were very friendly with us right away even though we didn't speak the language and were very helpful in explaining the menu to us. The pasta was delicious. Fresh and flavorful. I got the shrimp scampi. Only thing is I didn't expect the full shrimp (head and shell on and all). Wasn't exactly expecting that and the work to take it apart. But everything was delicious.
