Service to start was horrendous. Sat 20 minutes on patio and had to go back inside to ask for a menu (he told us he'd would bring right out on arrival). Then screwed up the order completely, which was identical except for the dry tamale was pork vs chicken and came out wet, forgot the original chicken and the 2nd bean and cheese burrito along with side of sour cream... and 45 minutes to get the glass of water! Never going back!!! read more

We had a great experience today at La Costa Grill, located near the AG Miners. They have had new owners and they are very warm and friendly. Food was super tasty; I had the chile relleno lunch place (it had a bit of a kick -- which I like) and husband had the very homemade chicken posole. I make a ton of soups, so am quite picky about soup but this was delish -- fresh, bright, spicy with all the extras (cabbage, cilantro, onions, radishes). Patio was nice (especially since the bridge work is completed and we enjoyed a tasty, reasonably priced lunch. Will definitely be back. Thank you !! read more

Dinner was excellent! I had the carne asada and grilled chicken tacos, my husband had the pork verde burrito (wet) and a birria taco--everything was hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. The food is consistently delicious, and I usually get the chicken flautas but switched it up because I wanted tacos. An ice-cold Corona (now that they have their beer & wine license back) was perfect. On top of the great food, the owners are wonderful people--friendly, personable, and always make you feel welcome. I ordered a fish taco and 1 carnitas burrito. The fish taco was good. I specific ally ordered no beans since my spouse is allergic to them. We got a burrito full of bean mush and I could not taste the carnitas! much less he could not eat it since he is allergic. After waiting 30 minutes for a takeout order I expected better. I called and the young man that answered said 'so sorry, I put no beans on the order'. The response should have been sorry, we will give you a free one if you come back in. I will be returning to Taco Aculpuco in the future read more

I've ordered lunch to-go from La Costa multiple times in the past few months. Their veggie burrito is delicious, fresh, and filling. Service is so quick and the food is always ready when I get there (sometimes 10 min after calling it in!). This is such a great spot. The food is fresh and tasty and the service is quick. I have yet to try dining in the back patio area, but I plan to in the future! Their fries are delicious too! I ordered the Chili Verde burrito. The meat was tender. No gristle or fat. Unfortunately, I did not like the chili verde sauce and I had stomach distress in the morning. Whether the two are related I cannot say. I'll have to try the again another day. read more

Amazing find! Some of the best Mexican food I've ever had - the quesobirria and the pozole were out of this world. We loved the homemade salsa bar with over 9 unique flavors to try. Very tasty!! Stopped in while running errands and the first perk is lots and lots of spacious parking! Ordered two combo plates and a veggie burrito. Fresh chips and salsa were provided and they were really good. The taco and beans were by far my favorite parts of the meal. The beans were super creamy, but not runny, and the taco shell was super fresh. But my favorite part of this experience overall is the prices for the quality of food. The bill was just a little over 30 bucks to feed 3 people and that's fantastic for both the portion sizes and the freshness of the food. The server was very friendly and we didn't have to ask for anything cause he was on it. The food came out very fast as well. Will definitely be back to try other menu items. read more

Just had lunch here on their lovely outdoor patio. Quick service and hot delicious food. The Chili Relleno was perfect- fresh, nice size and sauce I loved. Although there is table service, it feels more like a place where you place your order and find a table to sit at. The server was super nice and kept on checking in on us. I ordered the Carne Asada wet burrito. I thought it was just ok. Nothing about it wowed me. I do have to say that there service is pretty quick. And their chips and salsa are fresh and very good. Also, don't bother ordering their margarita as it's just margarita flavored seltzer water. It's not fresh and authentic. Great Mexican Food! We used La Costa Grill to cater our Rehearsal Dinner at Greengate Ranch and Vineyard. Hermán, the owner and chef, delivered our food for no charge. He worked with us and met all of our requests. We also ate here for lunch on several occasions and were very satisfied. I highly recommend this restaurant. Executive chef and owner, Douglas MacMillan, fuses recipes from his mother, Ada Rosa's, hometown of Bonito, Italy and New England cuisine where his father is from. Although the "award winning" clam chowder didn't blow me away, it was delicious, creamy, not too salty and had clams in each spoonful. The Brussels Sprouts was one of the best I've had though. The sprouts were perfectly fried, not greasy, bacon was crispy, the dried cherries were subtle, goat cheese was evenly sprinkled on top and the balsamic reduction was well balanced. I had no problem eating the whole appetizer myself. The lobster roll came with big chunks of Maine lobster, topped with a big claw and nestled in a soft yet toasted New England roll. I asked for butter instead of it being dressed, so it was pretty plain, which was perfect for me because all I wanted to taste was the lobster with a little butter. I've had one too many lobster rolls with more mayo than I prefer. The fries it came with were also thick and fried perfectly with a light sprinkle of salt. I washed it all down with a nice glass of Chardonnay and was very satisfied with my last meal here. I would definitely come back to Ada's when in Pismo!

The low table area was already pretty full so we opted for high bar table. The servers were super nice and friendly. One of our servers even felt bad to tell us that they were out of the fish for fish n chips. This is a wine bar so they didn't have too many NA drinks on the menu. The quality of the food was really good and we even had a bunch left over that was boxed up. We throughly enjoyed our visit and will recommend to friends and family.
