I love their potato and cheese taquitos! The flavor is delicious. It's the only thing I get but my family enjoys their tortas too. The staff are friendly too. I usually get it to go. On occasion, we sit outside in the small patio which works with the food. Only thing I'd suggest is to check the price on board to make sure it matches what is on their internet menu. read more

Long wait, pickled onions and sauce were decent, meat on both occasions seemed of low quality and covered with a rich sauce perhaps to mask this. Overall the sandwich was good; the attitude of the person at the register was not, and I was shocked to see the bill. One sandwich and one drink for nearly 40 dollars! Holy cow. We get there, and the first thing we noticed was the aroma coming from the homemade Manudo soup. I wish I tried it, because it smelled fantastic. But the reason for the post is all about the sandwich. I can't remember the exact name, but they make a version of a Cuban sandwich with a variety of meats, piled high. It's HUGE. Normally I'm not too impressed with over-the-top portions, just for the sake of bragging about the size of it. But this sandwich is worth bragging about! Seriously, but not because of the size, but because of how delicious it it's. The three of us simply could not stop digging in, even after we were full. It's made fresh and hot every time, and even has a yummy fried egg on top. We were quite impressed. You have to try it. One will be more than enough, and well worth it. read more

This was my first time trying this place and I think it may be the best meal of my life. Everyone was so nice, it was so quick, and the restaurant has a very clean and perfect ambiance. The food was AMAZING -- everything was so fresh, tasted great, and was a great temperature. Rolled up on a Friday night around 9 PM and there was a huge crowd. This is a tiny little taco stand that makes fresh fruit drinks and all sorts of delicious stuff. Even though there was a big long line they were moving food out quickly and as I got to the cashier I realized that they were only serving tacos, that's all they had left, so that would explain a good part of the reason why service was so fast. I ended up getting 2 Al Pastor tacos and a fresh pineapple juice, not only was it very cost-effective it was absolutely delicious! They have a really interesting looking tamale, even though I'm not normally a fan of tamales I think I'll try that next, but everything from Cuban sandwiches to a huge variety of fruit drinks and aqua Fresca's are available. I don't know why I've never tried this place before, I just sold my house and I'm moving out of California and I'm kind of kicking myself now because it was really good. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to have dinner here a couple nights a week to avoid messing up my kitchen Only mark them down one story because parking is a challenge, the lot is teeny tiny and you'll most likely be better off parking across the street by the donut shop and dashing across Grand...Food is kind of a bummer too bad the tacos sure made up for it! read more

I agree with all the prior other reviewers. The staff was super friendly and the tortas were HUGE and delicious. They were so big, we took the leftovers home to eat for our dinner. Also, the watermelon agua fresca was so refreshing to have after a morning sledding at the sand dunes. while driving down Grand Ave in Arroyo Grande I caught sight of a very colorful Taco stand, Frutiland! As I was suddenly craving tacos I pulled in- I was greeted nicely and ordered the Hawaiian tacos which consisted of three, Pastor, bell peppers, red onions, salsa, queso fresco, cilantro and pineapple on blue corn tortillas- I decided to sit outside in the patio which was very clean and quaint and was given a buzzer to let me know my order was ready- The aroma coming out of here was fantastic and when my order was ready I was really surprised how fabulous it looked! Some of the best Mexican food in town. The chef is from Mexico City and the food reflects that. The handmade tortillas are blue corn and thicker than supermarket standard tortillas. May throw some people off but if you know and love Mexican food this is the place for you. They've got a great assortment of aguas frescas and you could literally feed two people with one torta. Tacos are equally phenomenal. Since this is an authentic place, if you ask for spicy your food will be SPICY. So be prepared and don't blame them if you can't handle the heat. They've always been very flexible when I ask for substitutions or special orders (I can't eat dairy). Nice people and delicious food. Hope this place is always around. read more

After seeing the lines down the block, we finally gave it a try and it didn't disappoint. Friday night is their taco night which is when there's a big line at dinner time. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Negatives, tacos were somewhat expensive for a taco specialty night. I actually didn't realize it, but they only serve tacos on Friday night so I couldn't try a Torta. Flavor of the tacos were reallly good, the grilled onions are a nice touch as well. Their hot salsa is hot , but I powered through. Overall really impressed and will be back to try the torta that I intended to order. Fish tacos - three tacos doesn't sound like much, but these tacos use thicc blue corn tortillas and are absolutely stuffed to the brim with fish, pineapple salsa, and veg. Tons of flavor and great value. Taquitos - these use the same thick blue corn tortillas, lightly fried and smothered with sauce, lettuce, and cheese. I almost don't want to tell anyone about the amazing food from this unassuming tiny, yellow stand that most likely was originally an ice cream place. It has the quintessential sliding window, is a small box of a place with the interior being solely their kitchen and workspace, but they've built nice outdoor seating that's walled in so it diminishes that 'roadside' feel (all that Grand Avenue, not being too crazy) can make. And yeah, you can take your dog and sit just outside the fenced in area at an outer table or two they have for us crazy pet lovers. What do you order? So many great choices! My 'go to' that I can't seem to be without for more than a couple weeks at a time, is their Azteca Taco-Your $12 order gets you two of these melts in your mouth luscious babies, each Pasillo pepper stuffed with cheese, lightly battered and fried with incredible smoky flavor. Drizzled with some red salsa sauce (I think a molcajete), some shredded cabbage, and served on a blue corn tortilla- it's a simple but delightful meal. Hi splurge and spend an extra $.50 to get a little container of their super hot salsa to take it up a notch but they don't think it's really needed. Just a tip for those spiceaholics like me. Their sopas and other offerings are very popular and delicious as well, but I just had to tell you about my fave!
