This was my first time trying this place and I think it may be the best meal of my life. Everyone was so nice, it was so quick, and the restaurant has a very clean and perfect ambiance. The food was AMAZING -- everything was so fresh, tasted great, and was a great temperature. Not to mention every single salsa at the salsa bar was also so delicious I could probably drink gallons of it. Well done La Parrilla.

Burro plate -pastor, pineapple, grilled veggies and lots and lots of cheese. Nice and spicy and served with tortillas and delicious beans!

Best grilled fish tacos in the five cities area. The fish itself is great for not being locally caught and fresh. The fruit salsa and homemade sauce they put on them is amazing. The house made blue corn tortillas are filling and the hot sauce that comes on the side is a must. The potato and cheese taquitos are a great choice, as is the Burro plate. When they offer you spicy, make sure you REALLY like spicy because they mean it. So authentic and delicious!

I agree with all the prior other reviewers. The staff was super friendly and the tortas were HUGE and delicious. They were so big, we took the leftovers home to eat for our dinner. Also, the watermelon agua fresca was so refreshing to have after a morning sledding at the sand dunes. This roadside eatery was wonderful discovery and will be back next time we are in town.

Veggie Torta

Food was ok. Can't believe that my Veggie Torta was close to $24. I ordered the veggie torta and requested them to add beans to my sandwich (which ended up being an extra +$6) We ordered a drink when we placed our order but didn't get it, when requested, the language barrier made it a very complicated situation which led to feeling uncomfortable over some darn horchata. Prob wouldn't come back

while driving down Grand Ave in Arroyo Grande I caught sight of a very colorful Taco stand, Frutiland! As I was suddenly craving tacos I pulled in- I was greeted nicely and ordered the Hawaiian tacos which consisted of three, Pastor, bell peppers, red onions, salsa, queso fresco, cilantro and pineapple on blue corn tortillas- I decided to sit outside in the patio which was very clean and quaint and was given a buzzer to let me know my order was ready- The aroma coming out of here was fantastic and when my order was ready I was really surprised how fabulous it looked! My first bite was incredibly delicious! I was definitely not disappointed- WOW the flavors were amazing! I was so glad to have chosen this place and I will definitely be back!!

Al Pastor/Asada Tacos

After seeing the lines down the block, we finally gave it a try and it didn't disappoint. Friday night is their taco night which is when there's a big line at dinner time. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Negatives, tacos were somewhat expensive for a taco specialty night. I actually didn't realize it, but they only serve tacos on Friday night so I couldn't try a Torta. Flavor of the tacos were reallly good, the grilled onions are a nice touch as well. Their hot salsa is hot , but I powered through. Overall really impressed and will be back to try the torta that I intended to order. We also got a Guava juice, they have some delicious fresh juices to order from.

El pastor tacos every Friday night

The new place to be on a Friday night. Come before 7pm to avoid the lines around the corner for pastor tacos.

Gigantic tortas - either split one or take the other half home five your next meal. Great blue tortillas, and excellent agua frescas.

The food is amazing. They've messed up my order a few times so just double check. Other than that the food is worth it.

Our favorite Mexican places to eat They never miss…read more Quality of food is always top tier!

I waited 45 minutes and paid $6 dollars for this piece of crap (will attach a pic) i got the vegetarian taco, which you would think they could at least add some cheese to it for flavor but nope. Also, for a place called "The gril", you would think that the vegetables WOULD actually be grilled, but no, they were not. The rice was dry, and the beans had no flavor. I literally could not eat it and left half of it there. My server felt so bad she insisted on not taking a tip. So because of this crappy company, my server did not get a tip. I would have insisted, but I didn't have cash, and she would not allow me to add a tip to my card charge because she knew I waited 45 minutes for a fu*king vegetable taco ‍ Honestly, I think they screwed up and forgot, because there's no way it should have taken that long, and she knew that....she kind of flinched and grimaced, and she said "I'm sorry, I think they got backed up" and kind of rolled her eyes as if to say, I think they fu*ked up, she even said quietly to me "I think maybe they forgot". This was for the live music event on Friday, 6/19 at Claiborne & Churchill. The music was great, The servers/ wine stewards were amazing, but the food was horrible. At least my taco was. if I ever see La Parilla serving food again anywhere I am, I will not order anything! BLECH. Oh, also I asked for no onions, and they couldn't even get that right. In one of my pictures, you will see onions that I pulled aside on the plate. I could have pulled aside more, but I was wolfing down what I could after waiting 45 miinutes for a frigging shit*y vegetarian taco that was crap when I got finally got it. NOT worth the wait. No cheese, no sour cream, no guacamole....just dry rice, flavorless beans, and a few pieces of bell pepper, plus onions - which I asked to NOT HAVE. What a pathetic, underflavored, overpriced taco. Ironically, I drove by Hannah's tacos food truck earlier, and I should have just bought some tacos from them. They are, I think $3 per taco, and 10 times better than this crap was

I had high hopes for this spot, unfortunately it quickly turned into an utter disappointment from…read morebad to worse. While exploring the nearby businesses of the hotel we were staying at, we decided to stop for an early dinner. The place looked quiet, and even though there were very few patrons, we had a short wait before being seated. (This was the first red flag) The restaurant is structured nicely with an open facing entryway to the street, allowing the sun and breeze to flow. The problem, is that it was difficult to admire the interior of the restaurant without ignoring the noticeable spiderwebs and cobwebs in the ceiling and rafters. If I can see them, then I know they can see them. They do however, have very nice indoor and outdoor patio seating, with several tv's throughout. We were served complimentary chips and salsa shortly after we were seated. The chips were light and crispy. The salsa? Awful. Very thin and runny, with absolutely no flavor. We had to have waited a good ten minutes or so before our drink order was taken. Upon taking our drink order, I also placed an order for chips & guacamole. Our waitress was friendly, but curt. After tasting the salsa I chose to play it safe and went with the chile verde enchiladas, and my wife went with the combo plate with a chicken taco and enchilada. By the time we placed our second drink order it was blatantly obvious that our waitress had completely forgotten about our order of chips and guacamole, which was confirmed when our meal arrived. I will say that the margaritas were outstanding, maybe one of the best I've had. To my surprise, the chile verde enchiladas were actually really good. Nice texture, good flavor. The rice was bland and flavorless, and I'm convinced that the black beans were straight from a can. Lacking both flavor and/or seasoning (They weren't even hot) and equally plain. My wife's meal wasn't any better. The chicken was super dry served on a sad and raw tortilla. The beans...disgusting slop. If I had any doubts about whether MY beans were canned, I had absolutely no doubt about hers. These beans were so undoubtedly canned I'm surprised they didn't still have the impression of the tin can on them. No seasoning, no flavor, and lukewarm at best. Enough is enough. I couldn't wait to pay my tab and make a swift exit.
