We just had my father in-laws 85th birthday in their remodeled party room and it was a blast! 45-50 people and the service from our waiters, Richardo & Ernesto was top notch! They made sure all our guest were treated as VIP guests. The owner Pepe made sure all our details were taken care of and Pepe, his wife and another very sweet server were spot on at the Mexican Buffet to ensure no one went hungry. Ok. I can only assume the negative reviews on here were written by other restaurant owners here in Cleveland. Especially the ones with two or three total reviews. So my advice is this: if you are in Cleveland, eat here. The hubby got the fajitas. I tried them. They were no shredded or boiled like some person wrote. They were tender and tasty. I even stole one of his. I got the pound of boiled shrimp. The shrimp were cooked well and not overdone like at many boiled shrimp places. The price was very reasonable. In fact the prices were comparable to a good seafood restaurant nearby in humble or Houston. I get this is Cleveland, but it's also a notch above the other places here (I've eaten in them all). If I had one piece of advice, I'd say the appetizer prices are a little high (as they are at almost every restaurant now) but they looked interesting and different than a lot of places. But when you are a Mexican restaurant and you give out free chips and salsa, it makes it easier to not get an appetizer when they are priced high. Maybe lower the price and the portion size? And speaking of the salsa...it was different but excellent. Real spicy. My mouth is still tingling a bit. I think maybe some habañero in there. It was lighter than a regular tomato based salsa, but tasted amazing. I couldn't stop eating it. And they gave you your own individual cup of it so the salsa hogs couldn't steal yours. Also...it's chilled which I prefer, but a little different for the Houston area. So maybe that was part of the issue with that negative Nancy. Anyways, we will be back. This place is a**, the fajita beef tastes like it was boiled and shredded, the cheese and salsa tastes like tap water. the ambiance felt like you were sitting in a Mexican Restaurant trying to be a seafood bar trying to advertise there only decent product (their wings). The service was subpar, the lady just sat all the glasses at the end of the table without any clear indication of who's water was who's, so you would be left fight over which one doesn't have pubes in it. read more

Stumbled upon this place visiting my aunt that just moved into the area. I did a quick search for seafood and wasn't very hopeful I would find something edible in the area, but Lacosta showed some promise with the 4.3 star ratings. Let's cross our fingers as we pull up & enter the door that our tummies will be fulfilled! As we walked in, we loved the decor, it gives the vibe of a seafood shack that would be on an island. The hostess was warming with her greeting as she escorted us to our table. We were lucky enough to have Maria as our waitress. She is attentive, gave us her recommendations & accommodated any requests we had. I opted for the monterrey shrimp after eyeballing the table across from us & it looked ahhmazzzing. I'm glad I made that choice because every cheesy bite was yummy! I had a refreshing Mangonade to was it all down. Everyone in my party was satisfied with their food. We did have one dry chicken breast to come out, we calmy voiced our displeasure and they remade it without hesitation. Atmosphere was great, margaritas where delish, food was mid, could be better... But what got me the most was the managers attitude. She seems very disappointed with her life that makes her take her anger out on her Staff and customers. She seems to not realize you can still hear her from outside the kitchen. just because I'm white doesn't mean I don't understand Spanish... since the moment I got there until I Paid she was glued to her phone. The day I went they had some type of comedian outside as I was leaving I caught her sitting in the front with some guy it looked like they where flirting due to the way he was grabbing her. Sunday Funday'ish? We stopped at La Costa Seafood & Bar in Cleveland, TX on a long road trip from Florida to Denver. I must admit, I don't recall seeing the inside of this place. We sat in the covered patio, with good fan ventilation. The menu had so many options with good photography (props on that). All the Seafood looked so good and fresh. The drinks were abundant, and the food was fresh and comforting all in one. Everything is bigger in Texas was confirmed with the Drinks here! I recommend the Jalisco Cantarito. I had the Del Mar Chicken Grilled chicken smothered in Cajun creamy-chunky crawfish sauce. The flavors were unique, and I wasn't a fan of the fried rice and grilled vegetables, but good dish. I shared the Cancun Seafood Grill with the partner, and that was impressive. Octopus, shrimp, fish, and calamari were all tender. Passing through on a business trip - on Cinco de Mayo... About 10 Mexican restaurants in town - I picked this one for the seafood. Ordered a grilled shrimp dish - al Ajillo - big shrimp, well seasoned. Everything was very good. Service was a bit much - two servers alternated to see how I was doing in 3-5 minute intervals. Been here with my family quite a few times! The service is good and so is the food! Presentation is always nice and delicious. They just added a huge cabana outside which is great for evenings outside. I'm not sure their happy hour times but i know they usually have a deal on their margaritas if you come at the right time. They are a "Mexican" restaurant and yet serve fried rice as a side item. Literally fried rice with bean sprouts and egg mixed in. You're supposed to mix that in the gumbo too.
