First I want to commend the reservation system and the friendliness of the staff. We have nothing but praise for our server Rob not only with us but, with the table sitting behind us and a couple with a little kid. He was friendly, knowdlegeable on all items, and very easygoing. Now onto the food. We started with the pick 2 appetizers which we ordered calamari and mozzarella sticks. The mozo sticks were room temperature and the calamari rings were served with no lemon wedges and they were also room temperature. I want to clear up that at the time we were there they were not that busy. 4:30 PM. My wife ordered the Chicken Piccata and I ordered the Meat Lover's Calzone. The piccata did not have any capers as described on the menu, the sun-dried tomatoes were burnt giving the sauce a bitter aftertaste, and no lemon or garlic flavor. The emulsion and consistency were great. My Calzone just like the appetizers was room temperature from end to end. Would I go back? Well, I guess I'll give it a couple of months and revisit but as of now. No. This review is not meant to put the business down but as a paying customer, I think I should get what I paid for. My wife and I were up and Fallbrook and were looking for a lunch spot. We stopped in here and loved it. We both ordered the chicken parmigiana off the lunch menu and it was good. The lunch specials include breadsticks or soup. I got the chicken gnocchi soup and it was great. I also ordered the red sangria and it was very good and had greasy fruit garnish. We went to LaCucina this evening for dinner for the first time. We took our 3 year old grand daughter as well. The place was packed, so we got seated in the overflow room, so it was nice and quiet, very pretty painted walls and nice lighting with booth seating, but if you are tall like my husband and I, your legs will not have enough room under the tables, very tight seating. Everyone there from when we walked in and got greeted, to the servers who took our order and served our food were super happy and friendly, and very attentive to their customers. We ordered Bruschetta for an appetizer, which is in my pictures. The presentation of the Bruschetta was very nice, a little different than what we have had before at other restaurants. Bruschetta usually has toasted bread, and this bread wasn't toasted. It was very tasteless, not sure why because it was so pretty, but absolutely no taste. Our food was brought out shortly after the appetizer, so luckily we only had a few bites of the Bruschetta because we really didn't like it, and then our food arrived. Normally, we would have liked more time in between appetizers and food but in this case it was ok. I had the eggplant Parmesan which was pretty good, but a little mushy, but a huge portion which came with some spaghetti and a salad as wellI, and some bread sticks. I had to take some eggplant home, because I couldn't finish all of it, so the portion was good. It was kind of messy looking when it came out on the plate like it was sliding around on the plate before it was served, so presentation wasn't the best. Our grand daughter wanted a personal pizza, so she ordered a pepperoni kids pizza which came with fries. I should have exchanged the fries for salad because she loves salad, but I completely forgot about that. The pizza was huge too, and it was 3 year old approved, but she said the fries tasted weird! My husband had the Spaghetti and meat ball, but I didn't get a picture. He was ok with it, but didn't like the texture of the meatballs, and the portion was very small. Everything was pretty good except the Bruschetta wasn't to our taste, perhaps some Italian spices, it just seemed more like a salad, and very tasteless. My other wish was that they had blue cheese dressing, only choice was ranch and Italian dressing! Also freshly ground black pepper is nice as well and they don't offer that either. All and all it was a little over $80.00 for the meals and tip and with one glass of wine. Bad Mother's Day experience. They refused to honor their gift card. Escalated to owner who couldn't care less. I give these new owners a year at most before they are out of business. They forced a 25% tip that was not justified and was already on the ticket up front. Won't be back--ever. read more

We have been coming to this restaurant since its grand opening. This has become one of our favorite places in Fallbrook! The service is great! When you meet the owner, you will know why. Jesse is wonderful! Very friendly and accommodating. You can't beat the lunch specials! Where can you get a decent meal for $15 with a glass of wine? I don't eat meat, but my friends love their chicken parmesan and shrimp scampi. I usually order off the regular menu, I love the build-your-own pasta - the vodka sauce is great! Love their calzone, pizza and salads too! We often come with a big group and sit in the backroom. They don't add a tip to the receipt unless you have a large group. This is to protect their servers and they disclose this up front. I will note, that when they first opened they had some issues that have been resolved. If you haven't been in a while, I'd recommend giving it another shot! I like that they have a choice of either tables or booths. It is a nice atmosphere. They also have a nice wine selection and a full bar. Pros: Great food, reasonable pricing, great service / friendly environment, good for parties, great wine selection, and nice full bar. Vegetarian friendly. Cons: When you sit in the backroom - the bathrooms are a bit of a walk. read more

I'm having a hard time with the Indian/italian mix, but we ordered off the Italian menu . I got the eggplant parm and hubby got chicken piccata. Both dishes were decent . If I could give zero stars I would. Actually the service wasn't bad. But the food is terrible. We had pre-frozen meatballs that were not cooked all the way through. Definitely jarred sauce. Bad all bad. Bread sticks that had so much salt on them I wiped them off. I got a Parmesan eggplant that was chewy...I told the owner and just said hey I want all local businesses to succeed here this was my experience, he proceeded to tell me I was crazy and that everything was made from scratch. This place opened in January so it was new. We had a delicious shrimp scampi dish & salad w/wine. The meal came with breadsticks. It was very good & our server was very nice. The only thing lacking was a bit of ambiance or coziness. The tile floor makes the restaurant a bit noisy & "cold". Perhaps some carpet, candles, tablecloths or pictures on the walls? I had my wedding last Monday in Fallbrook, coming from LA I didn't know any places and was looking for a place that could seat at least 25-30 people for my Wedding rehearsal dinner. Called a few restaurants none of them had the capacity unless I bought out the whole restaurant. La Cucina had a beautiful separate room for no extra charge that could fit my entire party, manager was very accommodating and had an easy reservation process. The food was outstanding, all my guests were happy with the options and quality of the food. The service was out of this world Audrey and Priscilla took care of my whole party they had always a smile on their face, fast and efficient and friendly. We had no idea the place was brand new I asked them how many rehearsal dinners they had made (since theres a big wedding venue close by) because they were truly professional and looked like they had a lot of experience and I found out we were the first one they have had. Could truly not have asked for a better experience from food, ambiance and service. If you're getting married at Los Willows like we did and you're looking for a good place to host your dinner this restaurant is perfect! read more

Great everything! The service was above & beyond, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was welcoming! I called for a reservation a few days in advance (party of 7) and asked if they wouldn't mind if I brought an outside dessert (home made) and they agreed happily! fallbrook has been awaiting this restaurant for years, as there's only one other italian food place and it's the typical mediocre fare that fb is well known for. i called ahead of time and made a reservation, which was easy. parking was tough upon arrival. one may have to park in the street instead. upon entering, we were surrounded by many waitstaff--not a bad thing, just surprising. moderately loud music greeted us, along with many booths and tables. lots of hard surface areas, which means noisy. if you want a quiet environment or a romantic atmosphere, you'll have to go elsewhere, like carlsbad. we were seated and i must say that the personnel there were all friendly, all of the time. the place, as others alluded to, reminds one of the olive garden restaurant, with its flashy and denny's-like menu theme. the server, hector, was personable and exuded confidence, but it was all window dressing, so to speak. we ordered the entire meal while he was waiting at our table, including drinks. it took the staff 15-20 min. to get us a beer and a regular menu-ed cocktail. in fact, we didn't get our drinks until the entrees arrived. verdict? unacceptable, esp. since my wife told him that we wanted our drinks before the entrees came. she was half way done with her salad when her cocktail arrived.....too late, sent it back! she ordered salmon piccata, which the website said was supposed to be grilled. it came poached--another fail. i had the Chicken Parmigiana, which was hot and very tasty. we passed on desserts. oh, almost forgot the breadsticks--fail. no herbs, garlic, on the bread, ex. for a very thin coating of olive oil....uh, i can do that at home, in fact even better than what they served. verdict = fail. we passed on dessert. i would go back for lunch, not dinner. if you order a drink, tell them you want it in five minutes or forgettttaboutit! read more

We tried it and were very disappointed. The beer taps were "down". We were sat in a room at the north end next to a very loud table of 20. This was an echo chamber and was very miserable and distracting. No pictures, murals, plants, decorations.... Nothing Italian ! but echoing noise. The salad was ok but the Italian dressing was very bland... they were out of blu cheese. My spaghetti and meat sauce was in a small bowl and had very little meat and very little sauce. Our server ( Audrey, I think ) was very sweet and accommodating however. The place is brand new, and the staff are still getting oriented, so I won't get crazy about the service, which was good but maybe a little unorganized. The breadsticks were wonderful, as was the salad. I had the eggplant parmesian, which was wonderfully garlicky and tasty! My companion had spaghetti and meatball, and loved every bite.
