Overall a great addition to Fallbrook. A relaxing atmosphere and friendly service. They have quite a selection, a full bar (which is nice) and a military discount if you don't forget to ask like I did. I had the meatloaf and it was just ok. I was a little disappointed...No flavor. They're new, so I will probably go back because I like to support local businesses, but I'll definitely be trying something different on the menu next time. The best part was the staff. The wait staff was very kind, but there were many things that we had to ask for that felt a bit obvious (utensils, creamer for our coffee, part of my meal that was missing, etc.). Luckily, everyone was very apologetic and quick once we did ask. I ordered the brisket hash with eggs scrambled, hash browns, and pancakes. The pancakes were good, but the brisket was pretty dry and nothing seemed seasoned. Our first visit here for breakfast was amazing... You're greeted right away by employees who have smiles on their faces. Our amazing server was Timothy! He was really nice, funny and made excellent food suggestions... My son is very very picky and he said the omelette was the best he has ever had and he loved the fresh Orange Juice as well. They have a senior (55 +) and a Jr menu for kiddos! There is definitely something here for everyone. They have a beautiful bar area with two televisions where you can order a meal and chat with their friendly bartender. I just walked by the bar and received a warm smile and eye contact from the bartender who was chatting with other customers. Definitely will be back! Went to Katy's Diner about a couple weeks ago the food was good the service was really not that good I feel they didn't really hire people with any serving experience the server we had was pretty bad she didn't know anything on the menu didn't really answer questions the only thing good about the place was the Ambiance was really nice fireplace outside seating the decor was really good but all in all me and my fiance we will just stick with Rainbow Oaks for the price that you pay there you get a lot of food compared to Katy's Diner. My fiancé and I went last for brunch and genuinely enjoyed Katy's Diner! The food was great and reasonably priced. We ordered the Lumberjack Special and Special #1. The portions were solid, and pancakes were nice and fluffy. Our server was also extremely kind and attentive! The atmosphere is a tad cold, you need some accent walls, the food is good, but temp wise needs to be a little hotter. The service is good, very attentive. However you guys need to have like a vegetarian menu for breakfast lunch and dinner so for like breakfast you guys need to do like a yogurt parfait just basically simple Greek yogurt with some berries and some granola and for dinner you need to offer like a black bean burger or a turkey burger or an impossible Burger and I understand you guys don't have your full menu up yet so you need to adjust that on all of your social media sites because you're social media sites state that you have a full menu when you don't so with that being said I think you guys need to work on coming up with different ideas for breakfast and dinner for vegetarians. read more

Had lunch at Katy's with my mom last week. I appreciated that one of the employees saw us just after we started walking to the front door and the side door marked with a handicap sign as my mother walks with a cane. Once inside and at the front of the restaurant we were greeted and asked if we'd rather sit at a table or booth. There were a few other diners. Timothy, our server, was very peppy. My mom had the French dip and I ordered the Hit Turkey sandwich. Our server shared the sides that came with the sandwiches so I got fried zucchini. I was confused when my hot turkey didn't have mashed potatoes. Tim was quick to bring over a small cup of them once I asked about them. He said the chef said if you order one of the sides, you don't get the potatoes. I wouldn't have ordered the zucchini had he not asked which side I wanted. I'm sure this being a new place and crew, they will learn what goes with what. Diners who sat near us after we ordered had the same experience as I heard one of them ask where the potatoes were. The sandwich I ordered was not what I expected after the reviews I have read. Disappointed, it was very skimpy and the prices are high for sandwiches.The service I'll gladly say was exceptional! My friends and I were treated wonderful by all that we were in contact with from the minute we walked in the door. Exceptionally well trained staff! All kind, pleasant, inviting, happy servers who seem to love their work, workplace and coworkers! Any idea how rare that is in a large restaurant setting? Very! My waitress was Flor and instead of being stumped about my query about waffles; she said "let's find out together!" She took my order and proceeded to get some additional items (extra napkins, creamer, coffee) and kept checking in (vice leaving me with questions about the menu). They had a lot of staff, and it seemed as if everybody was constantly busy. Chow was great! My over-medium eggs actually were (rare) and the waffle was perfectly crisp on the outside and tender cakey in the middle! Outstanding experience overall! Only recently opened, what?? Ambience, the Food, and the way the staff (and owners) make you feel at home. Everyone is so friendly, helpful, and VERY accommodating to all your needs. Try the zucchini appetizers, onion rings, brisket, pancakes, or any of the sandwiches or burgers, especially the Katys or San Fran. Those seem to be my family's "constant" favorites now. Can tell Justin infancy state but the sensory wall in hall and business card holder for local businesses was a nice touch, desserts look delicious! Hubs and I had lunch here today. We both had the senior (size) Cobb salad, it was delicious and plentiful. It comes with a choice of bread (we chose garlic bread). Tried the new diner in town, giving it a thumbs up. Was greeted by several host/servers upon entering. Host offered a free toy for kids (instantly made the kids happy). Place was about 20% full when we arrived at 10:15am, quickly became about 50% by 11am (those elderly late brunchers. We ordered 3 kids breakfast plates while I ordered a full breakfast plate(#6). All food was good, arrived quickly and was offered sauces. I also ordered a Stella beer, which came out in a sweet FIFA World Cup glass (I need one of those), and was pretty cold. The server checked on us several times and had a great attitude. The prices pretty good, comparable to the other bfast spots in Fallbrook. Looks like they had a full bar with a couple small tv's as well. Hopefully they play the World Cup games and Padre games as the options in town to watch games are limited. The one negative we noted was it got a little warm inside, warmer than I like to be when feeding...Overall rating 4.4 read more

Food was delicious, I had the fish and chips as recommended by waitress (Ashely) and it did not disappoint. Fish was very good and coleslaw was perfect. Also had a dinner salad with homemade Thousand Island Dressing, it was the best I ever had. For dessert io shared a homemade cinnamon bun, it was amazing. Went for breakfast today. Just wanted pancakes. Went for the mini stack for $7.95 because it was two pancakes and that's all I need. The short stack was three pancakes for $8.95 but just seemed like too much food for my taste. I was taken aback by the size of my two pancakes. They were the size of my fist. You could say well they said they were mini but then the "short" stack of three was just a dollar more. Were those "minis" also"? When I told the waitress they sure were small she offered to bring me more but I declined telling her this is your menu offering and I will accept it. The worst part was the pancakes were just ok. I really want local businesses to succeed but I'm just being honest. BTW....I love Main Street Cafe and their "short" stack of two pancakes which are the size of the breakfast plate. Drinks were very good had a kiwi strawberry mimosa and michelada the mix was really good. Food was amazing I am huge corned beef hash person and theirs was so good had a lot of flavor and we tried both the buttermilk pancakes and waffles they were so buttery and light couldn't decide which I liked better both were so comforting to eat. Staff was friendly and everything came out perfect. Owner was great walking around talking acknowledging everyone and making sure food came out right away. Worth giving them a try.
