At least four months since opening and everything was a disappointment. We will not come back. Parking in horrible. Only 3 salad dressings to choose from, watered down ranch, Italian dressing and balsamic which was pure vinegar (no oil). My two friends almost finished their lunches and my lunch was finally served. My calzone was hot around the edges cold in the center. Getting your food late was ok by their standards but when I complained about it being cold I was told they would deduct my calzone. These cheap lunch specials give credence to the old saying, "you get what you pay for". Extremely small portions of frozen pre-cooked and heated up entree's, bagged salad with wishbone Italian dressing and tasteless pale pizza dough bread rolls. Eggplant parmesan was burnt and Pasta sauce tastes like something out of a jar. Nothing fresh or appetizing. Only 2 parties in the restaurant and we had to wait to be served when we arrived by a guy who is loud and way too familiar, no class or decorum. I stumbled upon this place for lunch when a trip to Riverside was cancelled due to my pet dog that was howling in the car. I was also distraught by now, but saw an umbrella so figured they could accommodate me and Duchess for lunch in hot weather. Well, the dog got away from me and was caught by Jesse, the owner. He showed us to a cool table, the dog fell asleep and my fun began! The atmosphere calmed me. The manager, Flo, brought minestrone which was delicious - perfectly seasoned. Then the eggplant parmesan with spaghetti arrived and it was special. The eggplant was crispy and the cheese and sauce added a layer of softness and flavor on top. The pasta was cooked to a perfect al dente, the sauce was spiced just right. The trip to Riverside was supposed to be a birthday celebration so I ordered tiramisu. It looked a bit different with small chunks of lady finger in the base, and oh was it good - made in-house. Jesse came by and I asked to thank the chefs who graciously stopped their work to come out. They were lovely and let me heap praise on their food. It turned out that Jessie's background is as a chef and major restaurant-chain executive. Flo came back bringing a photo of her own puppy that I asked to see. So this is the story of how my birthday party in Riverside died, but was replaced with a memorable time that I hope to repeat often! Thank you to all at La Cucina. Nice people but that's not cutting it. The quality is poor and has no zing. Nothing special, but edible. Food is served without garnish or any effort to enhance dishes. Many pasta dishes come in a soup bowl, that's it. No under plate, no parsley and no offer of cheese to top. The silverware is so cheap it feels like plastic. Bread sticks are straight from a package and are a wasted effort when a brush of garlic or butter could save them. Even though the menu says homemade salad dressing, I'd say they are straight from a plastic jug. I'm feeling insulted by the lack of attention to detail at current prices. For the same money I can drive the same amount of time out of town and have a real Italian meal that is in a cozy atmosphere with nice surroundings. If you really want great Italian food. Go down the road a few miles to Fresco Cafe in Bonsall. Good service and nice decor but food is very heavy. Picatta dishes have a lot more richness than what we accustomed to eating.

The food was bland and tasted frozen the margarita pizza was undercooked and the crust is thin but there was half inch of hard cheese and it has so much arugula it was hard to see the pizza the calamari was 17.00 for 6 still cold and frozen squid circles in the worst breading I think that could have ever existed and the vodka sauce for the penne was clumpy I have had less watery sauces from the dollar store this food had zero love and zero heart and coming from New York I was craving a taste of home and I was left unsatisfied and still hungry the house salad was the best thing they had but the difference between the small and large salad is just the amount of lettuce with the same amount of toppings leaving it tasteless and boring and lucky the delivery lady was sweet or else I would've left a negative tip. The ambiance was amazing considering I got takeout and the only good thing about this meal is being able to laugh at how bad it was with my wife. read more

We were so excited to try this place and thought the interior was very nice. The food was decent, I would say similar to an Olive Garden. The drink I ordered from the bar was great. Unfortunately it took a good 20 minutes before our waiter came to ask for our order, he never asked if we wanted drinks first so we ordered at the same time. There were three of us, and when our salads were brought out to two of us my husband reminded the waiter he was supposed to get soup. About 15 minutes later he brought our two entrees, still no soup and no food for my husband. We asked 3 more times and still no food. Each time we asked the waiter would ask what we were missing.. .even though we told him over and over again. Eventually my son went to the kitchen and stood there till they brought his food. By this time we had finished our entire dinner, and my husband was just getting his food. There was no apology, no discount on the bill, no offer of dessert, nothing. As we left my husband spoke to the manager and she simply said she was sorry, again no effort to make things right. It's too bad because we understand things happen, but you have to acknowledge the mistake and make it right and with the manager not handling these issues I'm afraid it's a top down problem. In a small town you have to do better. We would have gone again and given them another shot if they had done anything to make up for the terrible service, but we won't be back. read more

Ordered a flatbread alfredo which was delicious but we also ordered a chicken alfredo pasta and it barely had any sauce it was a dry pasta

We moved to Fallbrook one year ago and anxiously awaited the opening of this establishment. We waited a couple weeks after the grand opening to allow time to work out any problems. Maybe we should have waited longer. We started with the Calamari Fritte appetizer which I'm pretty sure they buy frozen. Each entre comes with breadsticks and either house salad or soup. My wife liked the ministrone soup but I think my salad was pre-packaged. We arrived around 5:00 on a Friday and My guess is the Eggplant Parmagiana was prepared at least one day before and kept under a heat lamp. Nothing fresh about it. My wife ordered Seafood Fettacini but noticed it only had shrimp and none of the scallops the menu promised. We were told they were out (already?) but we'd get a discount. I thought the sauce was bland. In my opinion, nothing tasted fresh and mostly tasted like packaged goods. Don't get me started about the breadsticks. Oily and unseasoned. It's too bad because the staff is extremely attentive, they have grand plans to continue to improve the facility, the full bar is large and inviting but it still begins with THE FOOD. If they could prepare everything fresh and season to enhance the flavors we'd have a great new go-to place in Fallbrook. read more

I wanted to give this place a try for myself and I think everyone should, but here is my opinion. The atmosphere inside this place in the main dinning room feels like a cafeteria to me. They have costco outside lights zig zagging across the ceiling and it so bright! Way too bright and until they fix that, I definitely will not return and sit in that area. Maybe the bar would be better, or at least it seemed like it. The glassware is very nice but the silverware is equivalent to the dollar tree. If I am going out for dinner, I personally want nicer silverware. I had chicken alfredo and it was ok but my husband had chicken piccata and it did not have any lemon or capers. It was more a Mediterranean chicken with sun dried tomatoes. His chicken didn't even come with pasta it was served with fried zucchini slices that were not good. We both had salad to start and it was iceberg lettuce with chopped tomatoes and shredded carrots. The salad was spread out to seem like it was more than it was and the dressing that was "house" Italian was definitely bottled. We may give it a try later, but not going back for now. My husband and I were so excited to try this restaurant when it finally opened. We have seen the "Coming Soon" sign out front ever since we moved to Fallbrook the end of February 2022. We like to eat early so arrived between 4:30 and 5:00 PM. There was an abundance of wait staff greeting us when we arrived and we were ushered to our table. Our server was very pleasant and came to our table right away. We ordered wine and the calamari as an appetizer to start things off. The calamari wasn't bad, but I have certainly had a lot better. It was breaded and came with two different dipping sauces. There just wasn't a lot of taste to any of it. Our server asked if we had decided what we wanted for our dinner and my husband specifically said we would place our order, but wanted to enjoy our wine and appetizer. No time at all went by before my husband's house salad and my minestrone soup arrived at our table. The house salad looked pathetic. It was made up of chopped tomatoes, some shredded carrots and iceberg lettuce with a bottled dressing. I enjoyed my minestrone soup. It was loaded with vegetables and beans and had a nice flavor. We were about halfway through that course, when our main course arrived at the table. Now we have our appetizers, salad/soup and dinners all on the table. I had the Seafood Alfredo and it was loaded with shrimp. The shrimp were cooked nicely as was the pasta, but the alfredo sauce was very bland. My husband had the eggplant parmigiana and it looked like something that would be served at a coffee shop. The eggplant was thinly sliced, there was a minimal about of sauce poured on top and it the plate looked like it had probably been made a while back and had been sitting under a heat lamp. It just didn't look fresh at all. We had to ask for the breadsticks and those too were a disappointment. They were covered in olive oil, but had no salt or garlic. Again, the staff in the front of the house is very eager to please. We were thanked profusely when we departed. Would we go back? Probably not. I think there are too many other options in town with that price point that offer better food. read more

We have been twice to the bar to have a glass of wine and once for dinner. We looked forward to a new nice bar in Fallbrook with dinner options. Both bar experiences though were okay but not great. Bartender spent a lot of time in personal conversations with people who were standing around. Also wore a strong perfume that was overpowering. Was not very attentive and the atmosphere isn't very lively. Our last visit was for dinner and the food was bland and seemed prepackaged or frozen and then fried. We had the minestrone soup, Italian wedding soup, house salad, fettuccini Alfredo and the zucchini sticks. Both soups tasted like they came from a can. Zucchini sticks were like the frozen ones at the grocery. Salad was chopped iceberg with bottled Ranch dressing. The Alfredo sauce had no flavor and sauce was meager. It is disappointing to have this new restaurant open and have the food be so mediocre. Service was good and I could see in the server's face that she was embarrassed when she took away almost full plates. We may go to the bar again but we are unlikely to return to the restaurant to test it out in the future. Too many other great restaurants. read more
